  • Leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) is known to play a crucial role in the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson's disease. LRRK2 is predominantly expressed in the lung as well as the brain. However, it is unclear whether LRRK2 expression correlates with the pathogenesis of lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC). This study analyzes the prognostic significance of LRRK2 in LUSC using the Kaplan-Meier plotter tool. High expression of LRRK2 is known to be associated with a bad prognosis in patients with LUSC. Patients with high LRRK2 expression, tumor mutational burden, high neoantigen load, and even gender correlation reportedly have the worse survival rates. In the gene expression profiling interactive analysis (GEPIA) database, the severity of pathogenesis in LUSC with high LRRK2 expression positively corresponds to a high expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines but not inflammatory cytokines. Similarly, the increased expression of interleukin (IL)10-related genes was shown to be significantly linked in LRRK2-high LUSC patients having a poor prognosis. Moreover, the tumor immune estimation resource (TIMER) database suggests that macrophages are one of the cellular sources of IL10 in LRRK2-high LUSC patients. Collectively, our results demonstrate that the postulated LRRK2-IL10 axis is a potential therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker for LUSC.

  • In this article, we consider two sample problem with randomly right censored data. We propse two-sample confidence intervals for the difference in medians or any quantiles, based on bootstrap. The bootstrap version of two-sample confidence intervals proposed in this article is simple to apply and do not need the assumption of the shift model, so that for the non-shift model, the density estimation is not necessary, which is an attractive feature in small to moderate sized sample case.

  • This paper deals with the estimations of kernel ridge regression when the responses are subject to randomly right censoring. The iterative reweighted least squares(IRWLS) procedure is employed to treat censored observations. The hyperparameters of model which affect the performance of the proposed procedure are selected by a generalized cross validation(GCV) function. Experimental results are then presented which indicate the performance of the proposed procedure.

  • In this paper we propose a local smoothing of the Nelson type estimator for the survival function based on an approximation by the Weibull distribution function. It appears that Mean Square Error and Bias of the smoothed estimator of the Nelson type survival function estimators are significantly smaller than that of the smoothed estimator of the Kaplan-Meier survival function estimator.

  • The Koziol-Green(KG) model has become an important topic in industrial life testing. In this paper we suggest MLE of the reliability function for the Weibull distribution under the KG model. Futhermore, we compare Kaplan-Meier estimator, Nelson estimator, Cheng & Chang estimator, and Ebrahimi estimator with proposed estimator for the reliability function under the KG model.

  • An estimation problem of treatment effect for bivariate censored survival data is considered under location shift model between two sample. The proposed estimator is very intuitive and can be obtained in a closed form. Asymptotic results of the proposed estimator are discussed and simulation studies are performed to show the strength of the proposed estimator.

  • The importance of left truncated and right censoring cases has considered for better information in medical follow-up and engineering life testing studies. We propose some estimation procedure for the mean residual life function with consistency and asymptotic normality on the left truncated and right censoring model. And then, the comparision with Kaplan-Meier estimator ignoring the left truncated effect and the small sample properities are investigated by asymptotic biases and M.S.E.'s thresh Monte Carlo study.

  • The estimation procedure of mean residual life function has been placed an important role in the study of survival analysis. In this paper, the product limit estimator on left truncated and right censoring model is proposed with asymptotic properties. Also, the small sample properties are investigated through the Monte Carlo study and the proposed product limit type estimator is compared with ordinary Kaplan-Meier type estimator.

  • The purpose of this paper is to propose the modified semiparametric estimators for survival function in the Cox's regression model with randomly censored data based on Tsiatis and Breslow estimators, and present their asymptotic variances estimates. The proposed estimators are compared to Tsiatis, Breslow, and Kaplan-Meier estimators through a small-sample Monte Carlo study. The simulation results show that the proposed estimators are preferred for small sample sizes.
