  • In this study we analyzed carbon emissions of leaves of a Pinus densiflora which is vulnerable to a forest fire using the cone calorimeter in order to analyze greenhouse gas emissions from forest fires depending on region and altitude. Fuels were collected from 9 regions[Hongcheon(Gangwon-do), Chungsong(Gyeongbuk-do), Yanhpyeong (Gyeonggi-do), Jecheon(Chungchongbuk-do), Gongju(Chungcheongnam-do), Wuju(Jeollabuk-do), Youngam(Jeollanam-do), Busan and Jeju-do)] and 9 altitudes(80 m, 450 m, 900 m, 1000 m, 1100 m, 1200 m, 1300 m, 1400 m and 1500 m) and then, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions contained in a weight of 50 g of fuel were analyzed. According to the results, there were differences in carbon emissions by regional groups, as the average carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions in 9 regions were nearly 43.5929 g to 52.8868 g, and 0.8842 g to 3.6422 g, respectively. Busan and Jecheon had relatively higher carbon dioxide emissions and especially, Busan had 1.23 times higher carbon dioxide emissions than Jeju-do. Also, Gongju, Chungcheongnamo Province and Busan had relatively higher carbon monoxide emissions and especially, Gongju and Pusan had relatively higher carbon monoxide emissions and especially, Gongju had 4.12 higher carbon monoxide emissions than Hongcheon. In addition, there were differences in carbon emissions too depending on altitude, since carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions in 9 altitudes were respectively, 40.7015 g to 68.9297 g and 1.3923 g to 12.2918 g. At the altitude of 80m, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions were respectively, 68.9297 g and 12.2918 g, and at the altitude of 450m, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide emissions were respectively, 65.5115 g and 11.2497 g. These results show that pine trees at the lower altitude discharge relatively more carbon. It is considered that this analysis on carbon emissions depending on region and altitude can be effectively used for predicting greenhouse gas emissions and establishing statistical data from forest fires in each region and altitude.

  • We aimed to develop a cloud-based telemedicine platform for patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) at local hospitals in rural and underserved areas in Gangwon-do using artificial intelligence and non-face-to-face collaboration treatment technology. This is a prospective and multi-center development project in which neurosurgeons from four university hospitals in Gangwon-do will participate. Information technology experts will verify and improve the performance of the cloud-based telemedicine collaboration platform while treating ICH patients in the actual medical field. Problems identified will be resolved, and the function, performance, security, and safety of the telemedicine platform will be checked through an accredited certification authority. The project will be carried out over 4 years and consists of two phases. The first phase will be from April 2022 to December 2023, and the second phase will be from April 2024 to December 2025. The platform will be developed by dividing the work of the neurosurgeons and information technology experts by setting the order of items through mutual feedback. This article provides information on a project to develop a cloud-based telemedicine platform for acute ICH patients in Gangwon-do.

  • The natural distribution of Morus tiliaefolia Makino and Morus mongolica C.K. Schneider growing wild in the Korean peninsula are as follows. The Morus tiliaefolia Makino is distributed in mountain areas in land and islands with along seaside northernmost at 30°8'North latitude, Hwacheon, Kangwon-do and it also unusually exists at the mountain Chilbo in Myeongcheon-gun, Hamgyeongbuk-do. On the other hand, the Morus mongolica C.K. Schneider is distributed westside the great mountainrange of Baeckdoo further-north to Jangsoo-mieon, Jaeryeong-gun, Hwanghae-do (38°15'N.), but it also unusually survives at the area of Samcheok, Kangwon-do (37°24')

  • The study was carried out to investigate the flora and community classification of forest vegetation in Mt. Godae from March to October, 2003. As a result of that, the vascular plants were 94 families, 299 genera, 481 species, 1 subspecies, 66 varieties, 4 formae, 1 hybrid, 553 taxa in alL korean endemic plants were 8 families, 11 genera, 13 species, 13 taxa in all: rare or endangered plants were 12 families, 15 genera, 15 species, 15 taxa in all: naturalized plants were 9 families, 15 genera, 17 species, 17 taxa in all. The forest vegetation was classified into 1 order, 1 alliance, 3 communities; Rhododendro - Quercetalia mongolicae (Kim 1990) Lindero - Quercion mongolicae (Kim 1990) A. Fraxinus rhynchophylla - Quercus mongolica Community B. Quercus variabilis - Quercus mongolica Community C. Acer pseudo-sieboldianum - Quercus mongolica Community.

  • This study examined the current situation of the problem and to suggest an improvement plan for the general public officers who are currently working as the Special Judicial Police for Disaster Safety in Gyeonggi-do and Kangwon-do provinces. The disaster safety special judicial police have the expertise of the investigative environment and human factors. The present situation of the operation was analyzed, and the problems, improvement plan, and activation plan of the system were derived. To cope with crime prevention, which is complicated and diversified progressively, this paper proposed the direction of reestablishing disaster safety special judicial police personnel for disaster safety.

  • Serum is a potential source of bacterial, mycoplasmal and viral contamination, and it has a possibility of the introduction of serum proteins, prion and pyrogens into the final vaccine product. For porcine Rotavirus vaccine production, it is necessary to develop serum free medium which do not cause those problems. A new serum free medium was developed for porcine Rotavirus vaccine based on DMEM, and the performance of developed serum free medium was evaluated in terms of Vero cell growth and Rotavirus vaccine production. The cell density, gown in serum free medium developed, was similar with that in serum supplemented medium. Also, it was higher than that in other commercially available serum free medium. The productivity of Rotavirus vaccine using serum free medium developed and optimum production strategies will be also discussed.
