  • 연속간행물 입수에서부터 서가배가에 이르기까지 프로세스 흐름에서 체크인 업무는 연속간행물 관리시스템의 기반이 되는 업무이다. 기존의 체크인 담당자는 자료가 입수되면 수작업을 통해 입수자료에 대한 검색을 한후 권호명을 식별해야 하는 자료검색에 대한 부담과, 유사한 서명을 지니고 있는 연속간행물에 체크인하는 오류를 범하는 문제점을 갖고 있었다. 따라서 체크인 업무의 신속성, 정확성, 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 SISAC 바코드를 이용한 자동체크인시스템을 개발하였다.

  • Korea Institute of Industry and Technology Information(KINITI) provides the mailing service(Techno-Radar) of information on new technologies, products, and industrial trends to activate information distribution and to build a customer-centered information providing system. The information is classified into the manufacture industry, knowledge industry, and general information. Users can receive these information of their interest via e-mails. This report describes the ways to post information and to register and also emphasizes the importance of providing original materials, analysis and evaluation data of the industries as well as the mailing service to set up a user-centered information service system in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to develope a model for an integrated national management system of information services in the science, technology and industry sectors by assigning major roles and purposes to KISTI which was set up by the merge of KINITI and KORDIC. In order to develope the model, this study investigates and analyzes the problems of KINITI and KORDIC. On the base of these analytical results, this study presents a desirable model of KISTI for a national information services in the science, technology and industry sectors.

A Study on the Usage of Industry & Technology Joumals (산업기술분야 학술지 이용에 관한 연구)

  • This paper describes the results of journals usage analysis conducted at the Korea Institute of Industry & Technology Information. The study covers the photocopy usage of journals during the past 5 years from 1995 through 1999. Analysis showed that 19% of journal collection met 93% of total demands. The Analysis also provided on journal use patterns. The most frequently used subject field of journals was Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. A relationship was found between rankings of journal as measured by the photocopy data and SCI journal citation ranking, however, no relationship was found between photocopy rankings of journal and rankings of journal impact factors.

  • 산업기술정보원(KINITI)과 연구개발정보센터(KORDIC)가 발전적 통합을 거쳐 한국과학기술정보연구원(KISTI)으로 새롭게 출 발한지도 어느 듯 5년이 흘렀다. 이러한 세월을 반영하듯 KISTI는 이미 국내 최고를 넘어 세계 최고의 과학기술 지식정보 인프라 기관으로 도약할 채비를 마쳤다. 이처럼‘세계적’KISTI를 가능케 할 수 있었던 것은 항상 최전방의 야전사령관임을 자임하는 조 영화 원장(52)이 있었기 때문이다. 이질적인 조직의 통합에 따른 잡음도 있을 법한‘통합’KISTI를 특유의 리더십으로 융합시켰 다는 평가를 받고 있는 조 원장을 만나 KISTI의 현재와 미래에 대해서 들어봤다.

산업기술정보원의 특허정보 데이타베이스

  • 산업재산권 정보는 각국의 특허청에서 발행되는 공개공보와 공고공보에 수록되어 있다. 산업기술정보원은 특허청과 긴밀한 협조하에 산업재산권정보 전량을 입수하여 데이터베이스화하여 산업기술정보유통망(KINITI-IR)을 통하여 일반 이용자에게 서비스하고 있다. 산업재산권 DB제작은 1986년부터 시작되었으며 그 당시 한국 공고특허 DB가 처음으로 제작되었다. 지금은 한국공고특허ㆍ실용신안, 한국공개특허ㆍ실용신안, 의장 등 산업재산권 정보전반에 걸친 DB제작 활동이 수행되고 있다. 우리나라의 산업재산권 정보 발생량은 <표 1>과 같다.

Status of Document Delivery, Interlibrary Loan Services and Use of Information Technology in Korean Special Libraries (국내 특수 도서관에서의 원문제공과 상호대차 서비스 및 정보기술의 활용 현황)

  • To find out the status of document delivery and interlibrary loan services and the use of information technology in special libraries, questionnaires were sent to 328 special Libraries nation wide with at least 1 librarian, listed In the Korean Libraries Statistics 1994-1995(1996). $46.6\%$ were returned and 152 Questionnaires were analyzed. For document delivery, $61.3\%$ use BLDSC$47.5\%$ use KINITI. 87 libararies $(57.2\%)$ participate In interlibrary loan activities. To send requests, FAX and telephone is used the most, while FAX and print copy is used the most to receive the requested documents. $45-75\%$ use various information technology including online databases, Internet, e-mail, etc., and the use of information technology was related to the budget of the libraries. The costs, budgets, and slowness was the problems raised by the most. To improve the document delivery services, the most urgent thing is establishing cooperative system using BBS or Internet. Network systems to facilitate interlibrary loan should be established ultimately.

  • The analysis of distribution line faults is essential to the proper protections in the power system. A high impedance fault does not make enough current to cause conventional protective devices. In this paper, Fractal dimensions are estimated for distinction between normal status and fault status in the power system. Application of the concepts of the fractal geometry to analyze chaotic properties of high impedance fault current was described. In addition, to analyze variation of fault current and normal current on phase plane, embedding state variables are reconstructed from 1 dimensional time series.
