Feasibility study on the control of the eutrophication by flowing the industrial wastewater effluents to the lake (산업단지 종말처리장 방류수 유입에 따른 소류지 부영양화 제어 가능성 연구)

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of flowing the industrial wastewater effluents into the K lake which is located in the A city on the eutrophication. The lake was modelled as a continuous stirred-tank reactor. Phosphorus and Chl-a concentration in the lake were calculated to $0.29\;/m^3$$4.0\;g/m^3$ at steady state, respectively. Those simulated concentrations were very close to the monitored mean concentration of the lake, indicating that the simulation could be used a tool for characterizing the lake. The non-steady state concentrations of the phosphorus and Chl-a were proposed as a function of time as well. Phosphorus loading ($L_p$) and depth to retention time ratio ($H/{\tau}w$) was calculated in order to analyze the current state of eutrophication. We proposed a strategy to change the lake from eutrophic to permissible oligotrophic state using a graph consisting of two variables, $L_p$ and $H/{\tau}w$.

A Study on Securing Ship Survivability focused on a Cost and Effectiveness Analysis for Air Defense Performance (대공방어성능에 대한 비용효과분석을 중심으로 한 함정생존성 확보방안 연구)

  • It is crucial to set up early the required performance of surface ship for preventing the risk factors such as an excess of performance, cost and period in development stage. In this study, MOP and MOE are proposed to establish the method for deriving alternatives, MOP represents the defensive effect for anti ship missiles and MOE is the ratio of cost and performance. The 16 engagement scenarios which selectively install RF decoy, RF jammer, CIWS and anti air missile are suggested. The simulation results by using NORAM tool operated by ROK Navy show that the ship survivability is 0.605~0.975 and MOP is 0.301~0.887. The analyzed results represent the operating scenario with RF decoy, RF jammer and short range anti air missile is the best cost and effectiveness measure.

It can be said that this example of art marketing is a kind of an image marketing and public welfare at the same time. This article presents the concept of culture marketing and current condition of company. s support for culture and arts. In addition, the article depicts the concept and classification of art marketing. Furthermore, through analysis of company exhibition space and programs, the article illustrates the features and typology of art galleries managed by companies.

Establishment of CO2 Emission Estimation BIM Library for Steel Structures (철골조 건물의 탄소배출량 산정을 위한 BIM 라이브러리 구축)

  • In this paper, we have established the procedures for $CO_2$ emission estimation BIM libraries by using the material takeoff function that BIM tools fundamentally provide, and verified its availability by applying to steel structures. The BIM library set-up procedures were made up of $CO_2$ emission coefficients and parameter extraction, project unit setting, parameter setting, and $CO_2$ emission quantity calculation formula set-up. We used Revit Architecture 2013 as BIM tool, and established the steel members' family libraries as BIM libraries. It is possible to calculate the $CO_2$ emission quantity by following the proposed BIM library set-up procedures, and users have only to input the $CO_2$ emission coefficients and unit weights of steel members being used. We expect that the results contribute to practical use of BIM in field, and vitalizations of the eco-friendly construction.

Development of Parametric Design Tool for Offshore Plant Cable Tray Using PML (프로그램 매크로언어를 이용한 해양 플랜트 케이블 트레이의 파라메트릭 설계 도구 개발)

  • The cable tray design of an offshore plant production design is to optimally arrange the 3D modeling so that the cable can be installed without interfering with the structural members and various outfit equipment, and it is performed using a PDMS (Plant design management system), which is a 3D CAD system for an offshore plant layout. This study reviewed the development of PML (Programmable macro language) for a PDMS supporting offshore plant cable tray design and examined the efficiency compared to the existing method. Cable tray design PML developed in this paper enables fully parametric design using electrical outfit template library, allowing a rapid response to frequent modifications due to design changes and minimizing repetitive work fatigue by reflecting the accumulated design experience. In addition, the developed system was applied to the offshore plant structure module and it improved the work efficiency by more than 50% compared to the existing method.

Predictive Optimization Adjusted With Pseudo Data From A Missing Data Imputation Technique (결측 데이터 보정법에 의한 의사 데이터로 조정된 예측 최적화 방법)

  • When forecasting future values, a model estimated after minimizing training errors can yield test errors higher than the training errors. This result is the over-fitting problem caused by an increase in model complexity when the model is focused only on a given dataset. Some regularization and resampling methods have been introduced to reduce test errors by alleviating this problem but have been designed for use with only a given dataset. In this paper, we propose a new optimization approach to reduce test errors by transforming a test error minimization problem into a training error minimization problem. To carry out this transformation, we needed additional data for the given dataset, termed pseudo data. To make proper use of pseudo data, we used three types of missing data imputation techniques. As an optimization tool, we chose the least squares method and combined it with an extra pseudo data instance. Furthermore, we present the numerical results supporting our proposed approach, which resulted in less test errors than the ordinary least squares method.

A Development of Suicidal Ideation Prediction Model and Decision Rules for the Elderly: Decision Tree Approach (의사결정나무 기법을 이용한 노인들의 자살생각 예측모형 및 의사결정 규칙 개발)

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to develop a prediction model and decision rules for the elderly's suicidal ideation based on the Korean Welfare Panel survey data. By utilizing this data, we obtained many decision rules to predict the elderly's suicide ideation. Design/methodology/approach This study used classification analysis to derive decision rules to predict on the basis of decision tree technique. Weka 3.8 is used as the data mining tool in this study. The decision tree algorithm uses J48, also known as C4.5. In addition, 66.6% of the total data was divided into learning data and verification data. We considered all possible variables based on previous studies in predicting suicidal ideation of the elderly. Finally, 99 variables including the target variable were used. Classification analysis was performed by introducing sampling technique through backward elimination and data balancing. Findings As a result, there were significant differences between the data sets. The selected data sets have different, various decision tree and several rules. Based on the decision tree method, we derived the rules for suicide prevention. The decision tree derives not only the rules for the suicidal ideation of the depressed group, but also the rules for the suicidal ideation of the non-depressed group. In addition, in developing the predictive model, the problem of over-fitting due to the data imbalance phenomenon was directly identified through the application of data balancing. We could conclude that it is necessary to balance the data on the target variables in order to perform the correct classification analysis without over-fitting. In addition, although data balancing is applied, it is shown that performance is not inferior in prediction rate when compared with a biased prediction model.

  • An efficient R&D Methodology with minimized development period and cost needs to be developed due to advanced performance requirements of weapon systems. This will require the performance of logistics support analysis and design verification in the development stages of weapon systems through VR technology. VR technology has been applied to the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) process as a part of collaborative system. In this study, we propose a development and application plan of ILS based on VR technology during the total life cycle of weapon systems. Moreover Digital Maintenance System (DMS) is introduced as a VR tool with key functions. finally, applications and improvement topics of DMS are suggested for use in ILS development.

  • This research explains a new process in architecture frameworks. A complete analysis on implementation of the specific frameworks can be conducted by a special system. Moreover, the system can be installed anywhere, and it produces a unique result, which is customized based on the contents of architectural designs by users. Before using the system, an architect should think about the design and the process of constructing frameworks because a computer sometimes computes misleading results although the architect describes architectural structures, which the designer wants. If the architect inputs the same process into the computer, and the result of frameworks changes, it is not a proper architectural design. Hence, a tool, which precisely treats data, is needed. Therefore, when constructing the proper architecture, a new paradigm of architecture should be used to distinguish the issues of discussion by using various data. Also, based on this information, an apartment housing complex design, related to possible parameters, which can be expressed by combining various fusion tables and geocloud, and architectural designs, is proposed.
