Remediation of Electroplating Contaminated Soil by a Field Scale Electrokinetic System with Stainless Steel Electrodes

  • A $1.5m(L){\times}1.0m(W){\times}1.1m(H)$ polypropylene (PP) field scale electroniketic system coupled with stainless steel electrodes was designed to examined metal removal performance applied 0.2-0.35 V/cm potential gradient and 0.05-0.5M lactic acid for 20 day. Electroosmosis permeabilities of $2.2{\times}10^{-5}cm^2/V-s$ to $4.8{\times}10^{-5}cm^2/V-s$ were observed and it increased with the potential gradient increased. The reservoir pH controlled at $7.0{\pm}1.0$ has been effectively diminished the clogging of most metal oxides. The best removal efficiency of Zn, Pb, and Ni was 78.4%, 84.3%, and 40.1%, respectively, in the field scale EK system applied 0.35 V/cm and 0.05M lactic acid for 20 days. Increasing potential gradient would more effectively enhance metal removal than increasing concentration of processing fluid. The reservoir and soil temperatures were majorly related to potential gradient and power consumptio. A $4-16^{\circ}C$ above room temperature was observed in the investigated system. It was found that the temperature increase in soil transported the pore water and metals from bottom to the topsoil. This vertical transport phenomenon is critical for the electrokinetic process to remediate in-situ deep pollution.

  • SNU 1.5MV 직렬형 반데그라프 가속기의 고전압 안정화 계통을 설치하여 그 동작 특성을 파악하고 최적화하였다. 이온빔 수송계통의 최적 운전 조건을 단계적인 실험을 통하여 결정하였으며 적절한 운전 조건하에 표적함에서 350nA의 가속된 양성자빔을 얻었다. 고전압을 안정화하지 않았을 때의 고전압 변동은 이온빔을 가속하지 않을 때와 가속할 때 각각 $\Delta$V/V=5.2$\times$$10^{-3}$, 7.2$\times$$10^{-3}$이었으며 그 변동 주파수는 3Hz 이하였다. 터미날 전압 247.3kV에서 고전압 안정화 계통의 최적 운전을 통하여 터미날 전압의 변동은 $\Delta$V/V=2.45$\times$$10^{-4}$ 으로 줄었고 에너지 안정도는 $\Delta$E/E=2.44$\times$$10^{-4}$ 으로 유지되었으며 이 때의 안정화 계수는 29.4였다.

장거리 능동 어탐의 연구 (Long Range Active Acoustic System for Fish Finding)

  • For the purpose of making the detection range of fish detection system more longer and computerizing the system a parametric sound source, a timer and a digitizing circuit for the Apple II computer have been studied. The parametric sound of 5 KHz generated by passing AND gate two signals from carrier signal generator of 200KHz with modulator of 5KHz. This parametric acoustic source of 5KHz difference frequency had more higher directional resolution of 10 degrees than single frequency sound of 200KHz. Peripheral interface adaptor MC 6821 was adopted for interfacing to the Apple II personal computer. The timer consisted of six decade binary coded decimal counters (74 LS 190), and the digitizing circuit consisted of a sample and hold (LF 398) and an A/D converter(ADC 0808). The timer with 10KHz clock pulse had the measuring time from 0.1msec to 100sec. This time measuring range was satisfactory for the aim of the fish finding acoustic system.

Low GWP 냉매를 적용한 해수열 히트펌프의 성능해석 (The Performance Analysis of Sea Water Heat Pump applied Low GWP Refrigerants)

  • In this study, the seawater Heat Pump System using seawater with temperature of annual domestic conditions ($0^{\circ}C$ to $25^{\circ}C$) is designed in order to compare its performance against the Heat Pump using unused heat of seawater. As a potential replacement for current refrigerants that exacerbate global warming and ozone delpetion, a Low GWP refrigerant's performance is analyzed. The basic water to water Heat Pump system is chosen and three commercial refrigerants - R134a, R410a, R32 - are used to compare against new Low GWP refrigerant R1234ze. When seawater with temperature of $25^{\circ}C$ is used, the performance change showed maximal increase in COP, 38.3%. low GWP refrigerant R1234ze, showed great performance characteristics reach to 5.242 and Existing commercial refrigerant, R134a showed only less than 0.03 performance difference against R1234ze. The study confirms notable performance of R1234ze refrigerant through simulation as environmentally friendly refrigerant for domestic seawater Heat Pump.

항생제 처방 지원 프로그램이 항생제 처방과 사용량에 미치는 효과 (Effects on the Antimicrobial Use of Clinical Decision Support System for Prescribing Antibiotics in a Hospital)

  • Objective: This study was to define the clinical effect on the clinical decision support system (CDSS) for prescribing antibiotics integrated with the order communication system in a National Hospital. Method: We extracted data collected before integrating the CDSS of 4,406 adult patients in 2007 and data collected after integrating the CDSS of 4,278 adult patients in 2009. These patients were 50.4% and 45.2% of all patients admitted in 2007 and 2009, respectively. The clinical effect was defined as the proportion of prescribed antibiotics, the length of antibiotics use, and the DDDs (defined daily doses) of antibiotics per 1,000 patient-days using these retrospective data. Results: There were a significant change in the proportion of patient prescribed penicillins with extended spectrum (OR=0.55, p=001), penicillins included beta-lactamase inhibitors (OR=0.75, p<.001), 3rd cephalosporin (OR=1.47, p<.001). The mean of the length of antibiotics use was decreased statistically from $6.09{\pm}5.48$ to $5.85{\pm}5.51$ days (p=.003). The DDD of glycopeptides was decreased from 24.43 DDD to 19.55 DDD per 1000 patient-days. The DDD of 3rd cephalosporins was also decreased from 15.88 to 11.65. Conclusion: Therefore, the clinical decision support system for prescribing antibiotics was effective for the clinical outcomes.

반사율 변경이 가능한 롤링타입형 광선반 개발 (Development of Rolling Type Light-Shelf with Adjustable Reflectivity)

  • Purpose: Recently, lighting energy consumption in buildings has been gradually increasing and more studies are being carried out in order to solve this problem. Especially, the efficiency of the light-shelf system, which is a natural lighting system, has been recognized as a potential solution in addressing this problem and so various studies regarding the light-shelf system are being conducted. However, if high luminance material is used for the light-shelf system, glaring may occur in certain circumstances even though such material increases efficiency, and there are also difficulties related to maintenance and management in the case of an external light-shelf system. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to suggest modifications in relation to the reflectivity of the light-shelf system and introduce a rolling type light-shelf system with built-in cleaning equipment. In addition, a performance evaluation technique was established to verify its effectiveness. Method: In this study, we reviewed previous studies related to the light-shelf system and its performance. Then a testbed was established to assess the performance of the rolling-type light-shelf system suggested in this study. Also, the performance of the rolling-type light-shelf system suggested in this study was compared and analyzed with that of existent light-shelf systems in order to better verify the performance, and the uniformity ratio of illumination and lighting energy consumption were calculated for this purpose. Result: The results of the performance evaluation are as follows. 1) The performance evaluation result of the light-shelf system on the day of the summer solstice shows that $30^{\circ}$ is appropriate for the angle of light-shelf system, and the depth of the incoming natural light also increases as the angle of the light shelf increases. 2) It is possible to improve the uniformity ratio of illumination by increasing the reflectivity of the light shelf, and the reason for this is the increase in the amount of incoming light entering indoors due to the increased reflectivity of the light shelf. 3) The rolling type light-shelf system suggested in this study enables energy saving in comparison with existent light-shelf systems, and when the external illuminance decreases to 60,000 lx and 40,000 lx during the summer solstice due to factors such as the weather, the suggested light-shelf system can save energy by 12.1% and 5.1% respectively. Thus the light-shelf system proposed in this study is deemed to be effective in reducing energy costs.

이중 반응기 조건 및 비균일계 조건에서의 초음파 에너지 및 화학적 효과 평가 (Estimation of Ultrasonic Energy and Sonochemical Effects in Double-Bath-Type Systems and Heterogeneous Systems)

  • The effects of ultrasound in heterogeneous system were investigated in three kinds of ultrasonic systems including a bath-type system (System #1), a double-bath-type system (System #2), and a double-bath-type system partly filled with glass beads (System #3). The ultrasound energy and its attenuation were quantified using calorimetry and the sound pressure measurement method. The sonochemical effects mainly involved in radical oxidation reactions were quantified using KI dosimetry. It was found that ultrasound energy was significantly attenuated in System #2 and #3 due to the presence of solid materials such as a submerged stainless steel reactor and glass beads. However, in spite of low ultrasound energy status, sonochemical oxidation reactions occurred more violently due to the presence of glass beads in System #3. In addition, calorimetry was more adequate to estimate the total energy status of ultrasound in sonoreactors compared to the sound pressure measurement method.

해양 원격의료 도입을 위한 추진전략 마련 기초연구 (A Basic Study on Establishing Action Strategy for Introduction of Marine Telemedicine)

  • There exists dead zone from the aspects of health equity and health medical equity for maritime personnel. They could not have been benefited from disease prevention and health promotion in comparison with shore personnel due to the restricted medical accessibility caused by long voyage ship operation. Furthermore, the system of health management and medical assistance for maritime personnel is insufficient, the continuous health monitoring system does not exist, nor health diagnosis system, maritime industrial accidents and occupational disease control systems are adequate. The International Maritime Organization and the International Labour Organization recommend their Member Governments to take necessary measures in the management of seafarers' health and diseases through conducting continuous and systematic investigation. Thus, this study intends to propose action strategy and tasks for introducing marine telemedicine system aiming to provide seafarers with health management service for the years to come. The conclusions of this study can be given as follows. First, it is required that a systematic medical service system needs to be provided to promote seafarers' health. Second it is recommended to establish the marine telemedicine system incorporating U-Health technology. Third, it is necessary to revise the relevant laws and regulations to introduce the marine telemedicine system. Fourth, it is also necessary to provide various assistance system at the national level in the furtherance of global marketing of marine telemedicine system.

기반 Connected System을 이용한 농축산물정보시스템 구축 (A Study on the Development of Agricultural and Stockbreeding Products Information System Using IOT Based Connected System IOT)

  • This study perceived that there are limits to prompt and accurate monitoring when an accident occurs and the correct information of egg production stage, such as the date of spawning, cleaning, and refrigerating cannot be identified, since eggshell codes using barcode only show numbers identifying a city and province and the name of producers. To fix this problem, this study partially suggested the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and IoT-based Connected System. The proposed system in this study shares data with related agencies as the system of agricultural and livestock product information runs as the main server, and the database information of the proposed system is provided by farmhouses, distributors, and sellers. Through various media such as a webpage or mobile application built to provide the relevant information, customers can search and obtain information about agricultural and livestock products they want. Since the information on an entire process is open to the public, information ranging from simple to clear, additional ones such as hazardous elements can be viewed.

전주지역 중학생의 가정교과의 주생활 영역에 대한 행동체계별 요구도 (The Behavioral Systemic Needs of Students for the Housing Chapters in Home Economics Curriculum)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine middle school students' three behavioral systemic needs for the Housing chapter in Home Economics curriculum, Through literature review, the concepts of the three behavioral systems in this study were divided into technical, interpretive and emancipatory one. The questionnaire survey method was used, The subjects were selected randomly the third grade 259 students at 6 middle schools located in Jeonju city, from December 17, 2004 to January 17, 2005, Data were analyzed by using SPSS/WIN 11.5 program. The results were as follows; 1) Average of importance which middle school students recognized was showed the interpretive behavioral system> the emancipatory behavioral system> the technical behavioral system, That of reflection of the text book was showed that the technical was same with the interpretive, and the emancipatory was a little lower value than two systems, And needs in each system were the emancipatory behavioral system> the technical behavioral system> the interpretive behavioral system, 2) Average needs were showed according to the sub-chapter of housing. 'Preservation and Repair of house' in the technical behavioral system and 'Indoor Environment and Equipment' in the interpretive and the emancipatory behavioral systems.
