The impact of storage temperature on the changes in acid value(AV), peroxide value(POV), color value, total phenolic content(TPC), and antioxidant activity in perilla seed(PS) was investigated. The PS was stored at 25, 35, and 45℃ for four weeks. An increase in the storage temperature resulted in significantly increased AV, POV, redness, and yellowness of the PS. Conversely, TPC, antioxidant activity, and redness of the PS significantly decreased. The changes in the AV and POV followed a first-order kinetic model, and the kinetic parameters such as k, t1/2, Q10 and Ea were calculated. The k and t1/2 values decreased with increasing storage temperature and the Q10 values for the AV and POV were 1.56, 1.91, 4.61, and 3.43, respectively. The Ea for the changes in of the AV and POV in the PS were 70.40, 102.63 kJ/mol, respectively. The half-life values for the AV and POV of the PS at 25℃ were 169.52 and 373.18 days, respectively, while the values at 45℃ for those, were 28.47 and 27.93 days, respectively.
Persulfate (PS) activated with nanosized zero-valent iron (NZVI) was tested as a reagent to remove phenol from groundwater. Batch degradation experiments indicated that NZVI/PS molar ratios between 1 : 2 and 1 : 5 were appropriate for complete removal of phenol, and that the time required for complete removal varied with different PS and NZVI dosages. Chloride ions up to 100 mM enhanced the phenol oxidation rate, and nitrate of any concentration up to 100 mM did not significantly affect the oxidation rate. NZVI showed greater performance than ferrous iron did as an activator for PS. A by-product was formed along with phenol degradation but subsequently was completely degraded, which showed the potential to attain mineralization with the NZVI/PS system. Tests with radical quenchers indicated that sulfate radicals were a predominant radical. The results of this study suggest that NZVI is a promising activator of PS for treating contaminated groundwater.

When the monodisperse polystyrene(PS)/HDDA polymer particles were synthesized via one-step polymerization using polystyrene seed particles by dispersion polymerization, the effects of 1) the molecular weight of seed polymer particles, 2) the ratio of the absorbed HDDA to the seed polymer particles (swelling ratio) and 3) seeded polymerization rate on the surface morphology of PS/HDDA polymer particles were investigated. It was observed that the creation of the crater shaped defect on the surface of PS/HDDA polymer particles was irrespective of the molecular weight of seed polymer ant swelling ratio. But its surface morphology could be controlled by the change of the seeded polymerization rate.
This research was conducted to determine physical properties of four root media, peatmoss + vermiculite (1:1, v/v; PV), peatmoss + composted rice hall (1:1, PR), peatmoss + composted saw-dust (1:1 : PS) and peatmoss + composted pine bark (1:1 PB), as influenced by incorporation rate of Stock-sorb C (STSB). Each root medium containing STSB was packed in 22 cm diameter plastic pot and the physical properties were determined at 5 weeks after packing. As incorporation rate of STSB were elevated, total porosity increased in PV, PS and PB media with statistical differences at $5{\%}$ level. Those also resulted in increase of container capacity in PS and PB media, but statistical differences were not observed in PV and PR media. Elevated incorporation rate of STSB in PV, PS and PB media resulted in increase of air space with statistical differences. Trends in air space of the three root media showed a linear as well as quadratic responses to STSB contents of media. As incorporation rate of STSB increased, more water was retained in four root media at the soil moisture tension of 4.90 kPa, 9.81 kPa, 29.4 kPa and 1.5 MPa. The amount of water retained in PS medium was the highest at the moisture tension at 29.4 kPa and 1.5 MPa followed by PB, PR and PV medium. These results indicated that elevation of incorporation rate of STSB to various root media increased moisture retention capacity, but did not increase the available water holding capacity.
Uniform, hollow nanosilica spheres were prepared by the chemical coating of cationic polystyrene (cPS) with tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS), followed by calcination at 600 $^{\circ}C$ under air. cPS was synthesized by surfactant-free emulsion polymerization using 2,2'-azobis (2-methyl propionamidine) dihydrochloride as the cationic initiator, and poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) as a stabilizer. The resulting cPS spheres were 280 nm in diameter, and showed monodispersion. After coating, the hollow silica product was spherically shaped, and 330 nm in diameter, with a narrow distribution of sizes. Dispersion was uniform. Wall thickness was 25 nm, and surface area was 96.4 $m^2/g$, as determined by BET. The uniformity of the wall thickness was strongly dependent upon the cPS surface charge. The effects of TEOS and ammonia concentrations on shape, size, wall thickness, and surface roughness of hollow $SiO_2$ spheres were investigated. We observed that the wall thicknesses of hollow $SiO_2$ spheres increased and that silica size was simultaneously enhanced with increases in TEOS concentrations. When ammonia concentrations were increased, the irregularity of rough surfaces and aggregation of spherical particles were more severe because higher concentrations of ammonia result in faster hydrolysis and condensation of TEOS. These changes caused the silica to grow faster, resulting in hollow $SiO_2$ spheres with irregular, rough surfaces.

This article investigates various transcription techniques for the Legendre pseudospectral (PS) method to compare the pros and cons of each approach. Eight combinations from four different types of collocation points and two discretization methods for dynamic constraints, which differentiate Legendre PS transcription techniques, are implemented to solve a carefully selected test set of nonlinear optimal control problems (NOCPs). The convergence property and prediction accuracy are compared to provide a useful guideline for selecting the best combination. The tested NOCPs consist of the minimum time, minimum energy, and problems with state and control constraints. Therefore, the results drawn from this comparative study apply to the solution of similar types of NOCPs and can mitigate much debate about the best combinations. Additionally, important findings from this study can be used to improve the numerical efficiency of the Legendre PS methods. Three PS applications to the aerospace engineering problems are demonstrated to prove this point.
Multicomponent seismic data including both P- and PS-waves have advantages in discriminating the type of pore fluid, characterizing the lithologic attributes and producing the high resolution image. However, multicomponent seismic data recorded at the vertical and horizontal component receivers contain both P- and PS-waves which have different features, simultaneously. Therefore, the wavefield separation of P- and PS-waves as a preprocessing is inevitable in order to use the multicomponent seismic data successfully. In this study, we analyzed the previous study of the wavefield separation method suggested by Jeong and Byun in 2011, where the approximated reflection angle calculated only from one refernce depth is used in rotation transform, and showed its limitation for seismic data containing various reflected events from the multi-layered structure. In order to overcome its limitation, we suggested a new effective wavefield separation method of P- and PS-waves. In new method, we calculate the reflection angles with various reference depths and apply rotation transforms to the data with those reflection angles. Then we stack all results to obtain the final separated data. To verify our new method, we applied it to the synthetic data sets from a multi-layered model, a fault model, and the Marmousi-2 model. The results showed that the proposed method separated successfully P- and PS-reflection events from the multicomponent data from mild dipping layered model as long as the dip is not too steep.
The final product generated from the KOMPSAT-2 Terminal for Polar System, K2PS, is an ellipsoid projected image. This leaves a relief displacement on the image by process of which the height value of subject area is constant. In this paper, orthorectification using the SRTM was used to remove such artifacts, and thereafter, the additional product that could be generated from the K2PS was discussed.

2-Diazo-1-naphthoquinone-5-sulfonyl chloride(NQD-Cl) was synthesized from sodium 2-diazo-naphthoquinone-5-sulfonate by chlorination. NQD-Cl was esterified with hydroxybenzophenones to give several 1,2-naphthoquinone-(2)-diazide-5-sulfonic acid ester derivatives(NQD-esters). We have compared benzophenone derivatives with methoxy group to benzophenone derivatives with hydroxy group. Solubility of each NQD-ester was studied. Each of NQD-esters was formulated with novolac base resin and PS plates were manufactured. Photosensitivity, bleachability, compatible exposed time and relative sensitivity were determined by UV spectrophotometry, imaged by UV lithographic techniques, and the gray scale method. According to the number of substituted NQD group, it showed that relative sensitivity was different from gray scale method. NQD-esters with methoxy group showed a good solubility and higher sensitivity than commercial PS ones.
