  • In this paper, double ball-bar is used to estimate the geometric errors of a rotary table, which includes one-axial motion, two-radial motions and two-tilt motions, except the angular positioning error. To simplify the measurement procedures, three measurement steps have been designed and developed. At each measurement step, one end of the double ball-bar is fixed at the nose of spindle and the other end is located on the rotary table. And specific circular test path is planned to keep the distance between two balls as constant at ideal case. The relationship including the geometric errors of a rotary table and the measured distance between two balls which is distorted by the geometric errors is defined by using ball-bar equation. Each geometric error is modeled as $4^{th}$ order polynomial considering $C^1$-continuity. Finally the coefficients of polynomial are calculated by least-square method. Simulation is done to check the validation of the suggested method considering set-up errors and measurement noise. Suggested method is applied to estimate geometric errors of a rotary table of a 5-axis machine tool.

  • A 3D particle code is developed to analyze electron behavior in a planar magnetron sputtering cathode either in balanced or unbalanced configuration. Three types of collisions are included; electron - neutral elastic, excitation to a metastable state and ionization. Flight path is calculated by a 4-th order Runge-Kutta method with a time step of 10 ps. Effects of electron starting position, magnetic field intensity and configuration were analyzed. For a more efficient and accurate modeling, multithreading technique is considered for multicore CPU computers. Under an assumption of cold ion approach, target erosion profiles are predicted for a flat target surface.

  • The deployment of multicast communication services in the internet is expected to lead a stable packet transfer even in heavy traffic as in network system environment. The core based tree scheme among many multicast protocols is the most popular and suggested recently. However, CBT exhibit two major deficiencies such as traffic concentration or poor core placement problem. so, measuring the bottleneck link bandwidth along a path is important for understanding th performance of multicast. We propose not only a definition of CBT's core link state that Steady-State, Normal-State and Bottleneck State according to the estimation link speed rate, but also the changeover of multicast routing scheme for traffic overload. In addition, we introduce anycast routing tree, a efficient architecture for construst shard multicast trees.

  • As the 4th industrial revolution and artificial intelligence technology develop, it is expected that there will be a revolutionary changes in the security robot. However, artificial intelligence system requires enormous hardwares for tremendous computing loads, and there are many challenges that need to be addressed more technologically. This paper introduces precise tracking control technique of autonomous system that need to move repetitive paths for security purpose. The input feedforward signal is generated by using the inverse based iterative learning control theory for the 2 input 2 output nonminimum-phase system which was difficult to overcome by the conventional feedback control system. The simulation results of the input signal generation and precision tracking of given path corresponding to the repetition rate of extreme, such as bandwidth of the system, shows the efficacy of suggested techniques and possibility to be used in military security purposes.

  • Water pollutants in drainage mainly consist of organic compounds. Hence, total organic carbon (TOC), chemical oxygen demand (COD), and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) were generally used as the indices of pollution. However, these values are determined by special analyzer (TOC), titration method (COD), or microbe culture (BOD). Therefore, the development of simple and easy methods for the determination of water pollution is required. The authors reported the evaluation of water pollution by near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy in a model system with food components (Takamura et al. (200) Near Infrared Spectroscopy: Proceedings of 9th International Conference, pp. 503-507). In this study, the relationship between NIR spectra and drainage was investigated in order to develop a method for evaluation of drainage by NIR. Drainage was obtained in Nara Purification Center. The ranges of TOC, COD, and BOD were 0-130, 0-100 and 0-200, respectively. NIR transmittance spectra were recorded on NIR Systems Model 6250 Research Composition Analyzer in the wavelength range of 680-1235 and 1100-2500 nm with a quartz cell (light path: 0.5, 1, 2, 4 and 10mm) at 10-40. Statistical analysis was performed using NSAS program. A partial least squares (PLS) regression analysis was used for calibration. As the result, a good correlation between the raw NIR spectra and OC was obtained in the calibration. The best light path was 10 and 0.5mm in the wavelength range of 680-1235 and 110-2500nm, respectively. In the calibration, correlation coefficients(R) were 096-0.97 in the both range. In the prediction, however, a good correlation (R=0.89-0.96) was obtained only in the range of 6801235 nm, Similar results were obtained in the cases of COD and BOD. These results suggest the possibility that NIR spectroscopy can be used to evaluate drainage.

  • Power Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor's (MOSFETs) are well known for superior switching speed, and they require very little gate drive power because of the insulated gate. In these respects, power MOSFETs approach the characteristics of an "ideal switch". The main drawback is on-resistance RDS(on) and its strong positive temperature coefficient. While this process has been driven by market place competition with operating parameters determined by products, manufacturing technology innovations that have not necessarily followed such a consistent path have enabled it. This treatise briefly examines metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) device characteristics and elucidates important future issues which semiconductor technologists face as they attempt to continue the rate of progress to the identified terminus of the technology shrink path in about 2020. We could find at the electrical property as variation p base dose. Ultimately, its ON state voltage drop was enhanced also shrink chip size. To obtain an optimized parameter and design, we have simulated over 500 V Field ring using 8 Field rings. Field ring width was $3{\mu}m$ and P base dose was $1e15cm^2$. Also the numerical multiple $2.52cm^2$ was obtained which indicates the doping limit of the original device. We have simulated diffusion condition was split from $1,150^{\circ}C$ to $1,200^{\circ}C$. And then $1,150^{\circ}C$ diffusion time was best condition for break down voltage.

  • A high-speed image processor (HIP) is implemented for a high-speed multi-function peripheral. HIP has a binarization architecture with unified data path. It has the pixel-by-pixel pipelined processing to minimize size of the external memory. It performs pre-processing such as shading correction, automatic gain control (AGC), and gamma correction, and also drives external CCD or CIS modules. The pre-processed data can be enlarged or reduced. Various binarizatin algorithms can be processed in the unified archiecture. The embedded binarization algorithms are simple thresholding, high pass filtering, dithering, error diffusion, and thershold modulated error diffusion. These binarization algorithms are unified based on th threshold modulated error diffusion. The data path is designed to share the common functional block of the binarization algorithms. The complexity of the controls and the gate counts is greatly reduced with this novel architecture.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to examine the factors related to children's health behavior. Methods : A self-administered questionnaire survey was carried out for 431 (boys; 227, girls; 204) children, 6th grade students, in Taegu from December 14 to 18 in 1998. This study employed health promotion model as a hypothetical model. Collected data were analysed through the chi-square test, ANOVA, and path analysis. Results : By univariate analysis, in case of boys, health practice was related to perceived self efficacy, perceived health status, perceived benefits of health-promoting behaviors, and perceived barriers, and in girls, health practice was related to perceived self efficacy, perceived benefits of health-promoting behaviors, perceived barriers, and cues to action. By path analysis, in case of boys, the better economic status, the younger mothers' age, the higher score of family cohesion and adaptability, healthier, the more perceived benefits, and the less perceived barriers were, the more health behaviors were practiced. Girls did the more health practice, in case of living with parents only, the higher score of family cohesion and adaptability, the more perceived self-efficacy, the less perceived barriers, and the more cues to action. Family cohesion had the most important effect on health practice of primary school students. Conclusions : In order to promote health behavior of primary school students, a good family environment as well as health education might be very important. That is, we have to try together in home and as well as in school.

  • Geological achievements of the 20th century revolutionized our views about geological understanding and concept. A good example is the concept of continental drift suggested early in the 20th century and later explained in terms of seafloor spreading and plate tectonics. Our understanding of the compositions of materials forming earth has also improved during the20th century. Radio and stable isotopes together with biostratigraphy and sequence stratigraphy allow us to interpret the evolution of sedimentary basins in terms of plate movement and sedimentation processes. The Deep Sea Drilling Project initiated in 1960s and continued as the Ocean Drilling Project in 1980s is one of the most successful international research observations, and new developments in computational techniques have provided a wholly new view about the interior of the earth. Most of the geological features and phenomena observed in deep sea and around continental margins are now explained in terms of global tectonic processes such as superplumes flowing up from the interior of our planet and interacting with such as Rodinia Pannotia and Nena back in the Precambrian time. The space explorations which began in the late 1950s opened up a new path to astrogeology, astrobiology, and astropaleontology. The impact theory rooted in the discovery of iridium and associated phenomena in 1980s revived Cuvier's catastrophism as a possible explanation for the extinctions of biotas found in the geological record of this planet. Due to the geological achievements made in the 20th century, we now have a better understanding of geologic times and processes that were too long to be grasped by human records.

  • In this study, the wind direction and the wind speed of the nearest temperature observations point of the National Weather Service was analyzed in order to investigate the rapid rise and drop of water temperature in the East Coast appeared after passing of the 2015 typhoon No. 9 and 11. Then the figures were simulated and analyzed using the WRF(weather research and forecast) model to investigate in more detailed path of the typhoon as well as the changes in the wind field. The results were as follows. A sudden drop of water temperature was confirmed due to upwelling on the East coast when ninth typhoon Chanhom is transformed from tropical cyclones into extra tropical cyclone, then kept moving eastwards from Pyongyang forming a strong southerly wind after 13th and this phenomenon lasted for two days. The high SST(sea surface temperature) is confirmed due to a strong northerly wind by 11th typhoon Nangka. This strong wind directly affected the east coast for three days causing the Ekman effect which transported high offshore surface waters to the coast. The downwelling occurred causing an accumulation of high temperature surface water. As a results, the SST of 15m and 25m rose to that of 5m.
