A Scheme for Reducing File Access Latency with File Migration in Mobile Computing Environments (이동 컴퓨터 환경에서 파일 이주를 이용한 접근 지연 감소 기법)

  • We consider some problems of remote file accesses of multiple clients in mobile computing environments. In this environment, user mobility affects file access latency. Mobile hosts have severe resource constraints in terms of limited size of non-volatile storage. Thus, the burden of computation and communication load raise file access latency. In this paper, we propose a scheme for reducing the file access latency through the file migration. The objective is to minimize of file accesses for all mobile hosts which delivering the file to clients as quickly as possible. We develope an on-demand scheme which determines when the file server should migrate files to another server, or when it should transfer files to mobile hosts. Using simulation, we examine the effects which parameters such as file access frequency, file size, mobility rate have on file system access latency. Through simulation results, we show that our proposed migration scheme is effective in reducing the access latency on the requested file of a mobile host with high access rate and low mobility.

  • The data grid computing provides geographically distributed storage resources to solve computational problems with large-scale data. Unlike cache replacement policies in virtual memory or web-caching replacement, an optimal file replacement policy for data grids is the one of the important problems by the fact that file size is very large. The traditional file replacement policies such as LRU(Least Recently Used), LCB-K(Least Cost Beneficial based on K), EBR(Economic-based cache replacement), LVCT(Least Value-based on Caching Time) have the problem that they have to predict requests or need additional resources to file replacement. To solve theses problems, this paper propose SBR-k(Sized-based replacement-k) that replaces files based on file size. The proposed policy considers file size to reduce the number of files corresponding to a requested file rather than forecasting the uncertain future for replacement. The results of the simulation show that hit ratio was similar when the cache size was small, but the proposed policy was superior to traditional policies when the cache size was large.

  • 혈관확장제 투여에 의한 약물부하 심근스캔시는 운동부하 심근스캔시와 비교하여 심박출량과 관상 동백 혈류의 증가정도가 달라서 심근내 T1-201의 농도가 달라진다. 그러므로 부하 심근관류스캔의 정량적 판독시에 각각의 부하에 특이적인 Normal file을 사용하지 않으면 이러한 심근내 T1-201 농도의 차이로 인하여 관류 결손의 크기가 다르게 나타날 수 있으리라 추측할 수 있다. 본 연구는 좌전하행지의 유의한 협착이 있는 34명의 단일 혈관 관상동맥 환자에서 이러한 가정이 실제적으로 어떻게 나타나는가를 조사하였다. 환자들은 adenosine 140ug/kg/min을 정맥주사하고 T1-201 SPECT를 실시하였다. 관류결손의 크기는 답차운동부하 T1-201 스캔을 실시한 정상인에서 구한 Normal File (File-ex)과 adenosine T1-201 스캔의 Normal File (File-ad)을 각각 이용하여 만든 극성지도에서 구한 adenosine 심근스캔의 관류결손의 범위지수(extent score)와 중증도지수(severity score)로 표시하였고, 이들의 값을 비교하여 아래의 결과를 얻었다. File-ex로 구한 관류결손의 범위지수는 $19{\pm}13%$였고 File-ad로 구한 범위는 $11{\pm}10%$였다(차이 $8.1{\pm}1.6%$, p=0.0001), 중증도지수는 File-ex를 사용하였을 때 $582{\pm}479$였고 File-ad를 사용하였을때는 $310{\pm}309$였다(차이 $272{\pm}49$, p<0.0001). $50\sim70%$의 중등도의 내경 협착이 있었던 20명의 환자에서는 범위지수는 File-ex와 File-ad에서 각각 $17{\pm}10$$7{\pm}7%$(p=0.001)였고, 70% 이상의 내경 협착이 있었던 14명에서의 범위 지수는 각각 $24{\pm}16$$18{\pm}10%$ (p=0.03)로 모두에서 File-ex를 사용하였을때의 값이 컸다. 이와 같은 성적으로 보아 T1-201 스핀에서 관류결손의 정도를 정량적으로 첨가할 시에는 부하에 특이적인 Normal File을 사용하여야 관류 결손의 정도를 정확하게 추출할 수 있다는 사실을 알 수가 있다. 즉 dipyridamole이나 adenosine부하경사에서 운동부하의 Normal File을 사용하면 관류결손의 정도가 과대평가 된다는 것이다.

A Method of Data Hiding in a File System by Modifying Directory Information

  • In this research, it is proposed that a method to hide data by modifying directory index entry information. It consists of two methods: a directory list hiding and a file contents hiding. The directory list hiding method is to avoid the list of files from appearing in the file explorer window or the command prompt window. By modifying the file names of several index entries to make them duplicated, if the duplicated files are deleted, then the only the original file is deleted, but the modified files are retained in the MFT entry intact. So, the fact that these files are hidden is not exposed. The file contents hiding is to allocate data to be hidden on an empty index record page that is not used. If many files are made in the directory, several 4KB index records are allocated. NTFS leaves the empty index records unchanged after deleting the files. By modifying the run-list of the index record with the cluster number of the file-to-hide, the contents of the file-to-hide are hidden in the index record. By applying the proposed method to the case of hiding two files, the file lists are not exposed in the file explorer and the command prompt window, and the contents of the file-to-hide are hidden in the empty index record. It is proved that the proposed method has effectiveness and validity.

Method for Finding Related Object File for a Computer Forensics in a Log Record of $LogFile of NTFS File System (NTFS 파일시스템의 $LogFile의 로그레코드에 연관된 컴퓨터 포렌식 대상 파일을 찾기 위한 방법)

  • The NTFS journaling file($LogFile) is used to keep the file system clean in the event of a system crash or power failure. The operation on files leaves large amounts of information in the $LogFile. Despite the importance of a journal file as a forensic evidence repository, its structure is not well documented. The researchers used reverse engineering in order to gain a better understanding of the log record structures of address parts, and utilized the address for identifying object files to gain forensic information.

A STUDY ON THE STRESS OF FILES AND CANAL TRANSPORTATION IN A CURVED CANAL (만곡 근관 형성시 화일의 응력 및 근관 전이 양상에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of materials and sizes of files on canal transportation in a curved canal. The stress and the strain energy of files of two kinds of materials (stainless steel and NiTi) and five sizes (No. 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40) in a curved canal were analyzed by a finite element program, NASTRAN. Curved canals in transparent resin blocks were instrumented with the 10 kinds of files, and the degree of canal transportation obtained by double exposure technique of photography was compared with the analysis by the finite element method. The results were as follows : 1. The stress of a file in a curved canal increased from the file body to the file tip. 2. The stress of a stainless steel file was about 2.5 times greater than that of a same-sized NiTi file. 3. The stress distributions of files of an identical material were the same, and the strain energies of files of an identical material increased as the size of files increased. 4. The strain energy of a No. 35 NiTi file was about the same as that of a No. 20 stainless steel file. 5. The degree of canal transportation by a stainless steel file was greater than that by a same-sized NiTi file. The degree of canal transportation generally increased as the size of a file increased. 6. The degree of canal transportation of a No. 35 NiTi file was about the same as that of a No. 20 stainless steel file.

A Comparison of Stainless Steel K-file, Profile .04, and Quantec LX Instruments to Shape Curved Root Canals in vitro (Stainless Steel K-file, Profile .04와 Quantec LX를 이용한 만곡 근관 형성후의 근관형태의 변화에 관한 비교연구)

  • 목 적: 통상적인 근관성형 과정에서 근관형태의 직선화 경향을 발견할수 있으며 그 결과 만곡이 심한 근관에서 이상적인 근관 형태를 얻기가 어려움으로 인해 이를 극복하기 위한 많은 기구들과 근관 성형법들이 개선되었고 소개되었다. 본 연구에서는 수통형 Stainless Steel K-file, Niti 엔진 구동형 Profile .04와 Quantec LX file를 이용하여 만곡 근관의 성형 후 최종 근관 형태를 비교하고 평가하고자 한다. 방 법: 본 실험은 Bramante등의 방법을 변형하여 술 전의 근관 형태와 술 후의 근관 형태를 비교하였다. Schneider의 방법에 따라 $12^{\circ}$에서 $68^{\circ}$ 이내에 만독도를 가진 45개의 발거된 상하악 대구치의 근심근관들을 선택하여 15개씩 3개의 군으로 나누고 알루미늄으로 제작된 mold에 투명한 교정용 레진으로 매몰하였다. 근첨에서 2.5, 5, 8mm 지점에서 절단하고 각 mold에 재조립한 후 다음과 같이 근관 성형을 시행하였다. 제 1 군은 SS K-file를 이용하여 Step-back 방법; 제 2 군은 NiTi 엔진 구동형인 Profile .04 ; 제 3 군은 NiTi 엔진 구동형인 Quantec LX file로 근관 성형하였다. 술 전과 술 후에, 각 시편들을 입체 현미경으로 사진 촬영하여 근관 중심 위치 이동률, 근관성형 후 면적과 모양, 잔존 상아질의 최 소 두께를 Sigma scan / image software program으로 계산하고 One way ANOVA로 통계적 유의성을 검증하였다. 결 론: 1. Profile .04와 Quantec LX는 SS K-file보다 근관성형시 근관의 본 형태를 유지하는 경향이 있었으나 통계적으로 유의성이 없었다(p>0.05). 2. 근관 성형 후 면적은 Profile .04 엔진 구동형 NiTi file를 이용한 군이 다른 군과 비해 가장 적었으나 통계적으로 유의성이 없었다(p>0.05). 2. 모든 방법들은 같은 부위에서 같은 방향으로 전이되는 양상을 보였다. 즉, 근단부에서는 바깥쪽으로, 중앙부에서는 안쪽으로 전이하려는 경향이 있었다. 그러나, 치관부에는 그러한 법칙이 적용되지 않아 전이되는 양상이 안쪽이나 바깥쪽으로 구별되지 않게 일어났다. 3. 술 후에 근관의 모양은 원형, 타원형, 불균일한 형태들이 다양하게 나타났지만, Profile .04와 Quantec LX를 사용했을 때 주로 원형 형태의 근관을 보여주었으며 Stainless Steel K-file은 타원형이나 불균일한 근관 형태를 보였다.

  • In this paper, ordered mode of EXT3 file system offers to use an optional compression algorithm technique. If the system terminates abnormally or an error occurs, data which is being modified will be possibly damaged or a recovery of the existing data can be impossible. To overcome these problems, a journaling file system is used. Journaling file system manages by using an additional space called Journal. EXT3 file system is the most widely used journaling file system. In this paper, When performing a file writing of an existing EXT3 file system, it offers to use an optional compact algorithm technique for an efficient use of a space of storage device.

  • The embedded systems commonly equip a file system as default to keep data. This file system is mostly constructed with flash memory as the price get lower and the performance get higher. Types of the file system implemented on the flash memory are various according to types of embedded operating systems. By the way, as the embedded systems increasingly depend on the file system, a selection of the file system type of the embedded systems influences the performance of the entire system. This thesis discusses the factors to influence the performance of entire system in construction of file system and selection of the types, and discusses the research results.
