  • In the industrial field the necessity of the linear motion is increasing. We selected a moving magnet coreless type LDM, which have the advantages, such as long stoke, brushless, no cogging force. Actually, the design is accomplished using FEM analysis for the basic configuration of a magnetic circuit, and characteristic equations for coil design. In the course of design we have estimated airgap flux density and thrust.

  • Reluctance Synchronous Motors(RSM) with new rotor shape are considered in this paper. Since the stator of a RSM is similar as that of an induction motor, attention is focused here on the rotor structure. We have designed the parameter of RSM and analyzed the characteristics of the electromagnetic energy conversion.

  • The driving torque acting on a rotatable disk of watthour meter is proportional to the effective power. The aim of this paper is to show how the driving torque on a disk can be measured by a LVDT transducer. This driving torque is obtained by the theoretical computation. To verify the computated result, the LVDT as torque transducer, was used. A comparison is made between computed and measured torques.

  • A B-H curve measuring system for testing softmagnetic materials was constructed. This system can measure the B-H curve in the low frequency(0.1 - 1 Hz) range. The drift of the integrator can be moderately removed by software technique. The advantages of the developed system are easier to measure B-H curve compared with conventional measuring system and low cost.

  • Due to the high peripheral speed of the rotor and the relatively high conductivity of the magnets used, rotor eddy current loss can be substantial.   • There are many advantages of the Magnetic Bearing system, compared with conventional contacting bearing systems. Since the spindle in the Magnetic Bearing system is levitated by electro-magnetic forces and rotates without mechanical friction, it can run without lubrication. So, it can run in the extreme circumstances, e.g. a vacuum condition in the space.

Petrology of Charnockite in Sancheong Area (산청지역에 분포하는 챠노카이트의 암석학적 연구)

  • The Charnockite in Sancheong region is quarzofeldspathic rock containing orthopyroxene and garnet with a color dark than common granitic rocks. The Chamockite are mostly massive and medium to coarse-grained with K-feldspar phenocryst, but reveal weak foliation. The rock consist mainly of quartz, K-feldspar, plagioclase and orhopyroxene, with biotite, garnet, and anthophyllite. In petrochemistry, the Chamockite has 61-65% $SiO_2$ contents, varying gradually into the margin contacted with orthogneiss, which have compositions of felsic igneous rocks. Major element show almost systematical variation with those of the marginal orthogneisses, except the hornblende gneiss and anorthosite. The Charnockite and orthogneisses show the tholeiitic differentiational trend. Trace and rare earth element abundance patterns in the Charnockite show remarkable negative Sr and Eu anomalies similar to orthogneisses, but different from the hornblende gneiss and anorthosite. Eu contents of the Charnockite are richer than that of orthogneisses. The metamorphic condition of the Charnockite were tested by an orthopyroxene-garnet geotherrnorneter and a plagioclase-garnet geobarometer. Estimated P-T conditions are about $761^{\circ}C$ and 7 kbar at peak metamorphism, but $653^{\circ}C$ and 6.4 kbar at retrograde metamorphism. This suggests that the Charnockite have from an early stage of high-grade metamorphism to represent the granulite facies and then to a late stage medium-grade metamorphism belonging to the amphibolite facies.
