Design and manufacture of Bi-2223 HTS current leads for SMES magnet

  • Bi-2223 HTS current leads for a superconducting magnetic energy storage(SMES) magnet were designed and manufactured. The HTS leads composed of Bi-2223/AgAu tapes and stainless steel former were connected to conventional vapor-cooled copper leads. The heat input to the liquid helium through the HTS lead was 0.39 W/lead when the warm end part's temperature is 65 K. And, the critical current of the HTS leads was about 1.6 kA when the warm end part's temperature is 80 K. The measured those values are well consistent with computed values.

  • Testing capacity of KERI synthetic short-circuit testing facilities has been upgraded to fulfill the requirements up to 550kV 63kA, 1-break circuit breaker ratings. Specially the current capacity was increased 50kA to 63kA and the full type test of 362kV 63kA circuit breaker(1-break) was firstly completed in domestic. UP to now, domestic manufacturers have depended on the foreign testing laboratory for performance verification of newly designed products. This paper introduces the summary of the increased short-circuit testing facilities, the testing techniques and its results for the making and breaking performance of 362kV, 63kA circuit breaker which was Performed according to IEEE C37.06(1999) used in North America.

  • Let Vk,n (ℂ) denote the complex Steifel and Grk,n (ℂ) the Grassmann manifolds for 1 ≤ k < n. In this paper, we compute, in terms of the Sullivan minimal models, the evaluation subgroups and, more generally, the relative evaluation subgroups of the fibration p : Vk,k+n (ℂ) → Grk,k+n (ℂ). In particular, we prove that G* (Grk,k+n (ℂ), Vk,k+n (ℂ) ; p) is isomorphic to Grel* (Grk,k+n (ℂ), Vk,k+n (ℂ) ; p) ⊕ G* (Vk,k+n (ℂ)).

We show the following : Let Alg$\cal{L}$ be a tridiagonal algebra on a separable complex Hilbert space H and let x = ($x_i$) and y = ($y_i$) be vectors in H. Then the following are equivalent: (1) There exists an invertible operator A = ($a_{kj}$) in Alg$\cal{L}$ such that Ax = y. (2) There exist bounded sequences $\{{\alpha}_n\}$ and $\{{{\beta}}_n\}$ in $\mathbb{C}$ such that for all $k\in\mathbb{N}$, ${\alpha}_{2k-1}\neq0,\;{\beta}_{2k-1}=\frac{1}{{\alpha}_{2k-1}},\;{\beta}_{2k}=\frac{\alpha_{2k}}{{\alpha}_{2k-1}\alpha_{2k+1}}$ and $$y_1={\alpha}_1x_1+{\alpha}_2x_2$$ $$y_{2k}={\alpha}_{4k-1}x_{2k}$$ $$y_{2k+1}={\alpha}_{4k}x_{2k}+{\alpha}_{4k+1}x_{2k+1}+{\alpha}_{4k+2}x_{2k+2}$$.

Binding of 59 Kilodalton Phytochrome from Avena sativa to Liposomes and Cibacron Blue Dye (귀리로 부터 얻은 59 KD phytochrome의 liposome과 Cibacron Blue Dye와의 결합성질)

  • Binding properties of the degraded 59kD phytochrome from etiolated Avena sativa seedlings to liposomes and Cibacron Blue dye were examined. In contrast with the native 124kD and partially degraded 118kD phytochromes, the farred light absorbing(Pfr) forms of the 59kD phytochrome binds to liposomes and Cibacron Blue dye via electrostatic interactions. Results indicate that the 59kD Pfr does not hold a hydrophobic surface which is exposed upon Pr to Pfr phototransformation of the 124 and 118kD phytochromes. Since a relatively extensive hydrophobic region is located in the chromophore bearing domain(59kD) of phytochrome(Hershey et al., Nuc. Acids Res., 13, 8543, 1986), the 55kD tryptic domain from the C-terminus plays an important role on the exposure of the hydrophobic area in the 118 and 124 Pfr to occur.
