A Study on the Rates of Return to Education (우리나라의 교육투자 수익률 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of the study was to estimate and analyze the rates of return to educational investment. The study was designed to estimate the social and private rates of return to educational investment by school level and sex in order to measure education's economic value with a viewpoint of human capital theory. The produced result of this study are as follows. The social rates of return to education turned out to be male high school 7.94%, male junior college 3.74%, male university 8.50% female high school 4.30%, female junior college 10.11%, female university 6.92%. The private rates of return to education turned out to be male high school 8.41%, male junior college 3.39%, male university 8.38%, female high school 7.90%, female junior college 10.34%, female university 7.33%, In order to measure economic value of educational investment, rates of return to education were compared with those to physical capital investment. Social rates of return to education turned out to be profitable for female junior college, while for private rates of return to education turned out to be profitable in all school levels except for male junior college.

  • The objective of this project is to cultivate interest among junior high school students toward Science & Technology. Six simple experiments will be introduced to the participants (junior high school students) of this project which is focusing on the basic principles of engineering including law of motion, free-fall, force, energy, friction and work. Our student team has been assigned to design six set of experiment according to the principles. The experiments are easy to understand and simple to assemble by the students of age 13 to 15. Experimental manuals were written by the members using simple words complete with figure so that all the participants can understand the procedure of each experiment. In order to make sure the manuals are practically working, the experiment sets were tested and the results were compared with actual theory. As a result, we believe that the experiments can be done by the students within less supervision. The students are able to set up the experiments by using some simple equipment around them. By doing this experiments, we can further our understanding and explain better the principles of energy, force and work.

  • As the institute of education teaching radiologic technology in Korea, different from others, junior college is the only institute which has been managed for it as a two-year educational course for 27 years since 1963 when it was established for the first time in our country irrespective of the needs of the times. But according to the development of medical equipment, variety of medical skill, increase of medical demands now a days, the supply of radiologic technology in modern medicine not only makes it advance as an inevitable factor but also broadens the area of its business systematically. Therefore, we got the following results after we had considered the necessity to lengthen the term of education and searched for the most reasonable way. 1. The term of study of the radiologic technologists in junior college must be lengthened to 3 years from 2 or 3 years regulated in the law of education. 2. In three-year curriculum, the subjects like basic medical science, science and engineering and ultramodern science, etc., which are lated to the new radiologic science must be taught in the junior colleges, and hospital practice also must be a compulsory subject in curriculum. 3. As the school years becomes longer, a lot of programs to make the study effective must be searched, researched and propelled forward.

  • 생활용품을 포함한 제조산업에 관계되는 환경오염 문제가 심각한 국내문제로 제시되어 왔으며, 제혁산업은 심각한 환경문제를 야기 시키고 있다. 본 연구는 Bio-tech 피혁가공제로 Lupin LE-10 을 개발하여 탈모공정에 적용하고자 하며, 화학적 탈모방법과 비교를 통하여 Lupin LE-10 탈모 방법의 여러 가지 장점의 검토를 하고자 한다. 따라서, 본 연구는 개발한 Bio-tech 피혁가공제를 효해공정과 수적공정에 적용하여 Lupin LE-10의 유용성과 제혁산업으로부터 야기하는 환경문제의 개선, 가죽의 수율과 물성증진에 기여하고자 한다.

The Present Status and Prospects for Employment of Graduates from Ship-Boarding Departments in Fisheries Junior College (수산계전문대학(水產系專門大學) 승선계학과(乘船系學科) 졸업생(卒業生)의 취업실태(就業實態)와 전망(展望))

  • The authors investigated the present status of employment of graduates from ship-boarding departments, the Department of Fishing Technology, of Marine Engineering and of Communication Engineering. Graduater from the departments in Tong-Yeong Fisheries Junior College from 1977 to 1988 were taken as samples. The prospects of the graduates were studied on the bases of the present status of employment. The results obtained can be shown as follows ; 1. In Department of Fishing Technology, the number of graduates who are engaged in major field is 523 (56%) among total members of graduates 929, and number of fishing vessel officer is 382(73%) among above members of employment in major field. 2. In Department of Marine Engineering, the number of graduates who are engaged in major field is 553 (58%) among total members of graduates 953, and the number of merchant vessel officers is 357 (65%), among the above members of employment in major field. 3. In Department of Communication Engineering, the number of graduates who are engaged in major field is 340 (49%) among 698, total members of graduates, and the number of graduates who are engaged in electronics and communication field is 196 (58%) among the above members of employment in major field. 4. Developements of deep sea fisheries enable graduates to make easy to get jobs, but difficult to get. land jobs related to major field.

  • RC(Rod Consolidation) technology in spent nuclear fuel management is an essential method and requires remote operation due to radiation exposure. Its technology may provide an effective means to double the storage capacity of spent fuel storage space. So development of this technology will provide a valuable contribution to establishing economical as well as technological basis for future spent fuel management.

  • The operation of RC(Rod Consolidation) technology carry out highly radiation environment. It requires remote operation and automation for efficient handling and for minimizing radiation exposure to the operator. So we investigated up and down position control of shock absorber device in RC system. To verify the research experimentally, a RC system was set up and PI control method was applied. Fuzzy control method was also tested to further improve control behavior.
