  • When vehicle travelling along the track which has irregularity such as vortical profile, dynamic forces arise at the Wheel/Rail contact patch by wheel/rail interaction. In particular short wavelength irregularities on dipped joint and small stiffness of connecting rail bring about intense wheel/rail dynamic effects at higher speed. In the paper, a new model for dipped joint rail is developed to study dynamic behavior of track. (omitted)

  • A variable release torque-based compliance spring-clutch (VCSC) is presented. VCSC is a safe joint to reduce the impact of collisions between humans and robots. It is composed of four functional plates, balls, springs to make some functions in compliant movement, release mechanism, gravity compensation during its work. Also, it can estimate torque applied to a joint by using distance sensor and parameters of cam profile. The measured variable torque of prototype is 4.3~7.6 Nm and release torque is 4.3 Nm. In our future studies, a calibration for torque estimation will be conducted.

  • When vehicle travelling along the track which has irregularity such as vertical profile, dynamic forces arise at the Wheel/Rail contact patch by wheel/rail interaction. In particular short wavelength irregularities on dipped joint and small stiffness of connecting rail bring about intense wheel/rail dynamic effects at higher speed. In the paper, a new model for dipped joint rail is developed to study dynamic behavior of track. A cusp behavior on dipped joint was defined by its amplitude and decay factor, which was presented by FRA track classes. The result of case study are presented, which show wheel rail contact force in each track classes, train operation speed and bending flexible rigidity ratio of fishplates which are connecting the rail.

암석의 절리면 거칠기 정량화 기법 개발을 통한 절리면 전단강도 특성 분석 (Analysis fo the Rock Joint Strength Characteristics Using New Rock Joint Roughness Quantification Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 절리면 거칠기를 정량적으로 산출하기 위하여 표면 거칠기 계수, Rs를 이용한 측정방법을 제안하고, 이를 바탕으로 절리면 거칠기가 절리면 전단강도에 미치는 영향을 제시하였다. 제시된 Rs를 이용하여 새로운 절리면 전단강도 모델을 제안하였다. 연구 결과, 표면 거칠기 계수인 Rs는 암반의 절리면 거칠기를 정량적으로 표현할 수 있는 유용한 방법이 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. Rs에 의한 암코아 규모의 절리면 거칠기 측정에는 최대 측정간격으로 2mm, 최소 측정 길이로 5cm가 적당하나, 이를 대규모의 현장 절리면에 확대 적용하기 위해서는 변동규모(scale of fluctuation), $\delta_u$를 도입하여야 한다. 절리면 거칠기가 작은 경우, 전단강도는 절리면에서의 미끄러짐으로 유발되었으나, 거친 절리면에서의 전단강도는 거칠기의 일부분이 파괴됨으로 인하여 발생됨을 알 수 있었다.

수정 분할자법을 이용한 절리 거칠기 계수(JRC)의 정량화 (Estimation of Joint Roughness Coefficient(JRC) using Modified Divider Method)

  • Barton and Choubey(1977)가 제안한 표준 거 칠기 단면을 0.1mm 간격으로 수치화한 후 수정 분할자법을 이용하여 분할자 길이에 따른 단면의 길이를 측정하였다. 분할자 길이에 따른 단면의 길이를 log-log 그래프에 도시 한 후 직선회기 분석 을 통하여 표준 거 칠기 단면의 프랙탈 차원과 절편을 구하고, JRC와의 관계를 분석하였다. 정확한 프랙탈 차원을 계산할 수 있는 분할자의 길이 범위인 교차거리는 $0.3\sim2.4mm$ 내외이며, JRC는 프랙탈 차원보다는 절편과 더 높은 상관도를 보였다. 그러나 프랙탈 차원과 절편을 곱하였을 때 가장 좋은 상관도를 보였으며, 위의 결과를 이용하여 프랙탈 차원과 절편을 이 용한 새로운 IRC 추정식 을 도출하였다. 23개의 자연 암석 절리의 단면을 수치화하여 $Z_2$ 파라미터를 이용한 Tse and Cruden (1979) 식과 새로운 JRC 관계식으로 각 단면의 JRC를 계산하고 이를 비교하였다. 비교 결과 두 관계식으로 추정된 JRC는 매우 유사하여, 본 연구에 서 도출된 새로운 관계식은 IRC를 추정하는데 매우 유용할 것으로 판단된다.

  • FC-BGA has advantages over other interconnection methods including high I/O counts, better electrical performance, high throughput, and low profile. But, FC-BGA has a lot of reliability issues. The 2nd level solder joint reliability of the FC-BGA with large chip on laminate substrate was studied in this paper. The purpose of this study is to discuss solder joint failures of 2nd level thermal cycling test. This work has been done to understand the influence of the structure of package, the properties of underfill, the properties and thickness of bismaleimide tiazine substrate and the temperature range of thermal cycling on 2nd level solder joint reliability. The increase of bismaleimide tiazine substrate thickness applied to low modulus underfill was improve of solder joint reliability. The resistance of solder ball fatigue was increased solder ball size in the solder joints of FC-BGA.

이족보행로보트의 구동부 및 제어부의 설계에 관한 연구 (A study on the driver and controller design of the biped robot)

  • The purpose of this paper is to design and construct the compact type joint driver and controller of the biped robot. This biped robot will be designed to be suitable for the practical usages and applications in the work environment, which is not plat floor, like a stairs by taking the stand-alone style that equipped all the parts except power sources. Generally, highly nonlinear motion dynamics of the biped robot is realized to linear approximations by installing a high-ratio speed reducer at each joint and dividing motions into a several piecewise linear motions, which is realized by the digital controller design techniques. This biped robot has symmetrical structure to get the stable walking ability and also the hierachical structure to control each joint as well. That is, all of the joint controllers are connected to the main controller in the composition of overall controllers. The driver and controller of each joint uses PI controller that compensate the velocity and position errors by the data of the encoder. And the signal characteristics of each joint controller forms a trapezoid speed profile which is predefined by the values of direction, maximum velocity and position.

Numerical Simulation of Welding Residual Stress Distribution on T-joint Fillet Structure

  • Fillet welding is widely used in the assembly of ships and offshore structures. The T-joint configuration is frequently reported to experience fatigue damage when a marine structure meets extreme loads such as storm loads. Fatigue damage is affected by the magnitude of residual stresses on the weld. Recently, many shipping registers and design guides have required that the fatigue strength assessment procedure of seagoing structures under wave-induced random loading and storm loading be compensated based on the effect of residual stresses. We propose a computational procedure to analyze the residual stresses in a T-joint. Residual stresses are measured by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) method, and a 3-D finite element analysis (FEA) is performed to obtain the residual stress profile in the T-joint. The proposed finite element model is validated by comparing experiments with computational results, and the characteristics of the residual stresses in the T-joint are discussed.

Factors Affecting Tibial Tuberosity-Trochlear Groove Distance in Recurrent Patellar Dislocation

  • Background: The tibial tuberosity-trochlear groove (TT-TG) distance is used to determine the necessity of tibial tubercle osteotomy. We conducted this study to determine the extent to which each of the tibial tuberosity lateralization, trochlear groove medialization, and knee rotation angle affects the TT-TG distance in both normal and patella dislocated patients and thereby scrutinize the rationale for tuberosity transfer based on the TT-TG distance. Methods: Retrospective analysis of rotational profile computed tomography was done for patella dislocated and control group patients. Femoral anteversion, tibial torsion, knee rotation angle, tuberosity lateralization, and trochlear groove medialization were assessed in all patients. Relationship of these parameters with the TT-TG distance was investigated to evaluate their effects on the TT-TG distance. Results: We observed that the patellar dislocation group, compared to the control group, had increased TT-TG distance (mean, 19.05 mm vs. 9.02 mm) and greater tuberosity lateralization (mean, 64.1% vs. 60.7%) and tibial external rotation in relation to the femur (mean, $7.9^{\circ}$ vs. $-0.81^{\circ}$). Conclusions: Tuberosity lateralization and knee rotation were factors affecting patellar dislocation. These factors should be considered in addition to the TT-TG distance to determine the need for tibial tubercle osteotomy in patients with patellar dislocation.

시저스 전개형 구조의 형상변화와 구조특성 (Characteristics and a Variation of Profile Shape in Scissors Deployable Structure)

  • 본 연구는 설치와 해체가 용이하여 간이식 구조에서 활용되는 시저스 전개형 구조에 관한 것으로, 입면상의 곡률변화 방법을 고찰하고 그에 따른 구조특성을 파악하고자 한 것이다. 먼저 시저스 구조의 입면상 곡률과 시저스부재의 내부절점 편심거리와의 관계를 식과 그래프를 이용하여 나타내었다. 이에 따라, 동일한 시저스부재에서 내부절점 편심거리를 조절하여 곡률을 변화시킬 수 있는 해석모델을 고찰함으로써, 곡률변화에 따른 시저스 구조부재들의 구조적 특성을 고찰하였다. 또한 고찰된 구성방식에 근거하여 실 모델을 제작하고 전개과정을 살펴봄으로써 실제 전개가능성을 검토하였다.
