Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the interrelationship between ranges of motion of the knee and ankle joints on the sagittal plane and the attenuation magnitude of impact shock at high frequency (9~20 Hz) in the support phase during downhill running. Method: Fifteen male heel-toe runners with no history of lower extremity injuries were recruited for this study (age, $25.07{\pm}5.35years$; height, $175.4{\pm}4.6cm$; mass, $75.8{\pm}.70kg$). Two uniaxial accelerometers were mounted to the tuberosity of tibia and sacrum, respectively, to measure acceleration signals. The participants were asked to run at their preferred running speed on a treadmill set at $0^{\circ}$, $7^{\circ}$, and $15^{\circ}$ downhill. Six optical cameras were placed around the treadmill to capture the coordinates of the joints of the lower extremities. The power spectrum densities of the two acceleration signals were analyzed and used in the transfer function describing the gain and attenuation of impact shock between the tibia and the sacrum. Angles of the knee and ankle joints on the sagittal plane and their angle ranges were calculated. The Pearson correlation coefficient was used to test the relationship between two variables, the magnitude of impact shock, and the range of joint angle under three downhill conditions. The alpha level was set at .05. Results: Close correlations were observed between the knee joint range of motion and the attenuation magnitude of impact shock regardless of running slopes (p<.05), and positive correlations were found between the ranges of motion of the knee and ankle joints and the attenuation magnitude of impact shock in $15^{\circ}$ downhill running (p<.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, increased knee flexion might be required to attenuate impact shock during downhill and level running through change in stride or cadence while maintaining stability, and strong and flexible ankle joints are also needed in steeper downhill running.

A load effect by vehicles running on a road and an increase of traffic is distinguished as a serious issue in the level of bridges' maintenance and management since it causes a quick damage of bridges. The expansion joint is the most important since it makes vehicles' traveling amicable and stress or additional load harmful to molding patterns minimized. However, it is very difficult to measure its expansion length since vehicles continue to pass on the expansion joint. Therefore, the study could see that it was possible to carry out a qualitative and quantitative maintenance and management if its expansion length is extracted with images. The study could acquire three dimensional coordinates of expansion joints with images. As the results of calculating RMSE of check point residual at 32 points in A area and at 28 points in B area, both A and B areas had very good results of RMSEsms 0.829mm~1.680mm. As the results of analyzing expansion length and immediate value extracted by images, the study analyzed that RMSE of A area was 0.64mm and RMSE of B area was 0.28. The average residual of A area was 0.60% and the average rresidual of B area was 0.27%. Therefore, it is judged that it is more scientific and efficient than the past to measure expansion length with images at the time of repairing and managing bridges in the future.
The waviness of Large Discontinuity rock is the one of important elements that judges the stability of rock slope. When the waviness of large discontinuity is measured in the field, there are many limitations Therefore this research was carried out to measure waviness of large rock discontinuities using 3D laser scanner to supplement this problem. This research established one 3D model that actual X, Y and Z coordinates through the integrated data gained from one that calculates waviness of base lock using CAD program was compared and analyzed to that of disc-clinometer. As its results, the high reliability of results could be recognized as it belongs to mechanical tolerance $1{\sim}2^{\circ}$ and the results belong to the measured values of Mean DIP and Mean are all within $1^{\circ}$. So, the investigation method of waviness of large discontinuity rock face using 3D laser scanner was verified as more prompt, effective and reliable method than conventional direct site measuring method.
The aim of this study was to provide fundamental data in training to improve athletes' competitiveness through the comparative analysis of kinematic variables according to the types of stance. For this study, the subjects selected 4 Junior Weight lifters. Subjects performed two type(8-type and 11-type) Dead-lift and their performance was sampled at 60frame/sec. using four high-speed digital video cameras. After digitizing images from four cameras, the two-dimensional coordinates were used to produce three-dimensional coordinates of the 15 body segments(20 joint makers and 2 bar makers). And the results were as follows. 1. As for the time required for stances, 8-type motion was faster than 11-type motion. 2. As for the body-center shift in stances, 8-type motion was bigger than 11-type motion in back and forth motion shift, and 11-type motion was bigger than 8-type motion in right and left, up and down motion shift. 3. As for the speed of a body-center and a babel, 8-type motion was faster than 11-type motion. 4. As for the motion-trace of a babel in stances, 8-type motion was bigger than 11-type in back and forth, right and left motion and 11-type motion was bigger than 8-type in up and down motion. 5. As for the body-angles in stances, 8-type motion was bigger than 11-type in the stance angle, and 11-type motion is bigger than 8-type in the angles of a coxa, a knee and an ankle. As a result of the comparative analysis between 8-type and 11-type stance of Junior Weight lifters dead-lift, both were generally similar in variables, but 8-type motion was more stable than 11-type in aspects of time, speed, center shift, angle change.
In this paper we propose the depth-poselets using body-part-poses and also propose the method to recognize the gesture. Since the gestures are composed of sequential poses, in order to recognize a gesture, it should emphasize to obtain the time series pose. Because of distortion and high degree of freedom, it is difficult to recognize pose correctly. So, in this paper we used partial pose for obtaining a feature of the pose correctly without full-body-pose. In this paper, we define the 16 gestures, a depth image using a learning image was generated based on the defined gestures. The depth poselets that were proposed in this paper consists of principal three-dimensional coordinates of the depth image and its depth image of the body part. In the training process after receiving the input defined gesture by using a depth camera in order to train the gesture, the depth poselets were generated by obtaining 3D joint coordinates. And part-gesture HMM were constructed using the depth poselets. In the testing process after receiving the input test image by using a depth camera in order to test, it extracts foreground and extracts the body part of the input image by comparing depth poselets. And we check part gestures for recognizing gesture by using result of applying HMM. We can recognize the gestures efficiently by using HMM, and the recognition rates could be confirmed about 89%.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences of the kinematical and the kinetical factors that calculated from preflight to postflight of salto forward straight 3/2 turn motion between skitters and less-skitters. four S-VHS video cameras operating at 60Hz were used to record the performances. five elite male gymnasts were participated in this study as subjects. three-dimensional coordinates of 20 body landmarks during each trial were collected using a Direct Linear Transformation method. The digitized body landmarks were smoothed using a Butterworth second order with low pass digital filter and a cutoff frequency of 10Hz. 1. A skitter, got a high score for performance, showed shorter time and faster horizontal velocity than a less-skitter at the board contact. also, a skitter extended quickly his knee and hip joint after contacting board for preflight phase. 2. A skitter revealed faster time and horizontal velocity the vault from taking off board than a less-skiller. A skitter took a long time and high distance to get the vertical peak compared with a less-skiller. 3. For the second phase, a skitter, who executes the most optimal motions among the subjects, displayed a long flight time, a high height, and a far flight distance as well as maintaining consistent horizontal speed even at the peak of post flight. On the other side, a less-scorer displayed a slow vertical velocity, distance and a short time at the point of take-off from vault as well as low height at the peak of post flight.
Satellite cameras are calibrated before launch in detail and in general, but it cannot be guaranteed that the geometry is not changing during launch and caused by thermal influence of the sun in the orbit. Modem satellite imaging systems are based on CCD-line sensors. Because of the required high sampling rate the length of used CCD-lines is limited. For reaching a sufficient swath width, some CCD-lines are combined to a longer virtual CCD-line. The images generated by the individual CCD-lines do overlap slightly and so they can be shifted in x- and y-direction in relation to a chosen reference image just based on tie points. For the alignment and difference in scale, control points are required. The resulting virtual image has only negligible errors in areas with very large difference in height caused by the difference in the location of the projection centers. Color images can be related to the joint panchromatic scenes just based on tie points. Pan-sharpened images may show only small color shifts in very mountainous areas and for moving objects. The direct sensor orientation has to be calibrated based on control points. Discrepancies in horizontal shift can only be separated from attitude discrepancies with a good three-dimensional control point distribution. For such a calibration a program based on geometric reconstruction of the sensor orientation is required. The approximations by 3D-affine transformation or direct linear transformation (DL n cannot be used. These methods do have also disadvantages for standard sensor orientation. The image orientation by geometric reconstruction can be improved by self calibration with additional parameters for the analysis and compensation of remaining systematic effects for example caused by a not linear CCD-line. The determined sensor geometry can be used for the generation? of rational polynomial coefficients, describing the sensor geometry by relations of polynomials of the ground coordinates X, Y and Z.
In this paper, we proposed a new 3-dimensional(3-D) object-tracking algorithm that can control a stereo camera using a variable window mask supported by which uses ,B-D information and an optical BPEJTC. Hence, three-dimensional information characteristics of a stereo vision system, distance information from the stereo camera to the tracking object. can be easily acquired through the elements of a stereo vision system. and with this information, we can extract an area of the tracking object by varying window masks. This extractive area of the tracking object is used as the next updated reference image. furthermore, by carrying out an optical BPEJTC between a reference image and a stereo input image the coordinates of the tracking objects location can be acquired, and with this value a 3-D object tracking can be accomplished through manipulation of the convergence angie and a pan/tilt of a stereo camera. From the experimental results, the proposed algorithm was found to be able to the execute 3-D object tracking by extracting the area of the target object from an input image that is independent of the background noise in the stereo input image. Moreover a possible implementation of a 3-D tele-working or an adaptive 3-D object tracker, using the proposed algorithm is suggested.
In order to determine the emplacement time and stratigraphic position of basaltic rocks in the central part of Pohang basin, palaeomagnetic investigations were conducted on 111 samples collected from 6 sites. Formation mean built from site-mean ChRM directions is $d=340.7^{\circ}$, $i=52.2^{\circ}$ (${\alpha}_{95}=6.0^{\circ}$, k=91) in the geographic coordinates. If "tilt" correction is applied regarding the plane perpendicular to the side walls of columnar joint as palaeohorizon, the formation mean becomes $d=328.7^{\circ}$, $i=43.8^{\circ}$ (${\alpha}_{95}=17.1^{\circ}$, k=13). It is to be noticed that the formation mean is deflected significantly (about $20{\sim}30^{\circ}$) counterclockwise from the Tertiary reference geomagnetic field of Eurasia, independent of "tilt" correction. This situation is very different from that of clockwise rotation of ChRM directions which has been ubiquitously observed in other Tertiary basins of south Korea, and indicates sinistral regional simple-shearing during the emplacement times of the basaltic rocks. Considering previous palaeomagnetic and AMS (anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility) data from other Tertiary regions of south Korea, the time of this sinistral shearing should be 15 Ma or directly thereafter, and this time point represents inversion from extensional to compressional tectonic regime. Magnetic foliation data obtained in this study indicate WNW-ESN compression during or directly after emplacement of the basaltic rocks, while it has known from regional tectonic study that the time of the WNW-ESN compression is about 15 Ma, when SW Honshu was rotated and the Korean strait was narrowed.
This study was investigated the kinematic factors of the last approach strides and. take off motion for the skill improving of BKH elite male athlete. 'The subjects chosen for the study were BKH and. KASZCZYK Emillian male athletes who were participated in 2003 Dae-Gu Universiad Games. Three high speed video cameras set in 60frames/s setting were used. for recording from the last approach strides to the apex position. After digitizing motion, the Direct Linear Transformation(DLT) technique was employed to obtain 3-D position coordinates, The kinematic factors of the distance, velocity and angle variable were calculated for Kwon3D 3.1. The following conclusions were drawn; 1. It showed longer stride length, as well as faster horizontal and lateral velocity than the success trial during the approach phase. For consistent of the approach rhythm, it appeared that the subject should a short length for obtain the breaking force by the lower COG during the approach phase. 2. The body lean angle showed a small angle by a high COG during the take-off phase. For obtain the vertical displacement of the COG and a enough space form the bar after take-off, it appeared that the subject should increase the body lean angle. 3. For obtain the vertical force during the takeoff phase, it appeared that the subject should keep straight as possible the knee joint. Therefor, the subject can be obtain a enough breaking force at the approach landing.
