  • The South Korean government invested about 560 billion won in research and development in the wind power sector over 30 years from 1989 to 2019. In addition, the government has been setting up conditions for the country's wind industry to grow through various policies, including the RPS (Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard). As a result, the size of Korea's wind industry has grown to 1.1 trillion won in annual sales and there are 2,000 people working in the wind energy sector. While the domestic market is weak due to the small size of Korea and there are problems with the NIMBY, the government has continued to support technology developments and support market policies. Despite insufficient performance in overseas markets, the effect of the government is still significant on the growth of the wind industry. In particular, the government's R&D investment program, which focuses on enhancing companies' competitiveness, has spurred job creation in the wind industry and a stable research environment for researchers. In this study, we compared the differences between methods of investigating employment statistics in Korea and those of other countries. We also proposed effective investment measures for the government by analyzing the investment effects according to value chain and types of organization.

  • The applications of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are progressively adopting for various smart home services such as home automation, controlling smart home household appliances, constrained application services in a smart home, etc. However, enabling a seamless and ubiquitous WSN communication between the smart home appliances is still a challenging job. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a smart home control system using an Actuator based ZigBee networking (AZNET). The working of the proposed system is further divided into three phases, 1) an interference avoidance system is adopted to mitigate the effect of interference caused due to the co-existence of IEEE 802.11x based wireless local area networks (WLAN) and WSN, 2) a sensor-based smart light control system is used to fulfill the light requirement in the smart home using the sunlight with light source, and 3) an autonomous home management system is used to regulate the usage time of the electronic appliances in the smart home. The smart is tested in real time environment to use the sunlight with light sources in a various time of the day. Similarly, the performance of the proposed smart home is verified through simulation using C# programming language. The results and analysis revealed that the proposed smart home is less affected by the interference and efficient in reducing the energy consumption of the appliances available in the smart home scenario.

The major findings were as follows. The focus of this study is defaulters who are married, in their thirties, have managed small businesses by themselves or with their spouses and have experienced job fluctuation. There were a lot of reasons for their becoming defaulters. Most of all, a slump in business with the occurrence of individual events caused them to be enrolled as defaulters. The monthly mean income of defaulters was $1,800,000{\sim}5,000,000$ won, yet it was irregular. Moreover, they were dependent upon labor income or business income. The monthly mean expenditure of defaulters was $1,000,000{\sim}2,300,000$ won, which constituted about $26%{\sim}57.5%$ of their monthly mean income. The defaulters needed to budget a number of expenditures such as food and private education. Defaulters had $25,000,000{\sim}128,000,000$ won in debts and $300,000{\sim}3,000,000$ won per month in debt payments. Most of them didn't have any emergency funds, monetary assets or fixed assets. Interestingly, they showed high tendency to use debt and low skill for their money management. Defaulters had short time horizons and were likely to buy something on the spur of the moment.
