농촌 이주 도시민의 지역사회 참여활동 실태 및 생활 만족도와의 관계 분석 (Rural Migrants' Community Participation and Relationship With Rural Life Satisfaction)

  • The purpose of this study is to look into current situations of urban-to-rural migrants' community participation and its relationship with rural life satisfaction. This topic is important because one of the main barriers to migration decision is job availability, especially in rural areas. Besides, rural areas need more human resources to support aging communities, as rural population is constantly decreasing. For this study, we used the methods of survey and in-depth interview with structured questionnaire. We met 121 respondents who were in community participation activities by the snowball sampling method in 10 counties nationwide. As a result, we identified community participation activities could contribute to urban-to-rural migrants' stable settlement and improving their satisfaction with rural lives.

Task Scheduling in Fog Computing - Classification, Review, Challenges and Future Directions

  • With the advancement in the Internet of things Technology (IoT) cloud computing, billions of physical devices have been interconnected for sharing and collecting data in different applications. Despite many advancements, some latency - specific application in the real world is not feasible due to existing constraints of IoT devices and distance between cloud and IoT devices. In order to address issues of latency sensitive applications, fog computing has been developed that involves the availability of computing and storage resources at the edge of the network near the IoT devices. However, fog computing suffers from many limitations such as heterogeneity, storage capabilities, processing capability, memory limitations etc. Therefore, it requires an adequate task scheduling method for utilizing computing resources optimally at the fog layer. This work presents a comprehensive review of different task scheduling methods in fog computing. It analyses different task scheduling methods developed for a fog computing environment in multiple dimensions and compares them to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of methods. Finally, it presents promising research directions for fellow researchers in the fog computing environment.

치과위생사의 근무분야별 근무환경에 관한 연구 (A Study on Working Environment of Dental Hygienists by Their Work Division)

  • 본 연구는 임상분야와 공중구강보건분야에서 활동하는 치과위생사를 대상으로 근무분야별 근무환경을 조사분석함으로써 구강보건전문인력의 효율적인 활용과 향후 치과위생사의 보다 나은 근무환경을 위한 기초자료로 제공하고자 본 연구를 실시하였다. 1. 조사대상자의 인구사회학적 특성에서는 임상분야 근무자에 비해 보건분야 근무자가 연령 및 근무경력이 높고 기혼인 경우가 많으며 고학력자의 비율도 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 2. 근무일수 및 근무시간에서는 보건분야에 근무하는 치과위생사는 5일(95.8%), 임상분야에서는 6일(70.3%)인 것으로 조사되어 임상분야에서의 근무일수가 많은 것으로 나타났다. 3. 정기휴가 일수는 보건분야에서는 11~20일, 임상분야에서는 1~3일이 가장 높게 나타나 임상분야와 보건분야에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 4. 임금지급방식은 보건분야에서는 월급으로 지급되는 경우가 89.4%였고, 임상분야에서는 연봉으로 지급되는 경우가 65.4%였다. 5. 연수관련사항으로는 국내 및 해외 연수기회가 없는 경우가 63.5%였고, 연수참가비 주체에 대해서는 근무기관에서 지원되는 경우가 54.0%였다. 6. 기혼자의 복지 환경에서는 취업기회 차별이 없는 경우가 85.5%였고, 출산휴가유무에서는 출산휴가가 있다고 응답한 비율이 69.2%였으며, 출산휴가기간은 3개월이 74.8%로 나타났다. 7. 이직관련 사항으로는 이직경험이 있는 경우가 46.8%(보건 53.8%, 임상 45.8%), 없는 경우가 53.2%(보건 46.2%, 임상 54.2%)로 나타나 임상분야 근무자보다 보건분야 근무자에서 이직경험이 다소 높았다. 이직횟수는 1회 이직이50.8%로 가장 높았고, 보건분야와 임상분야에서 비슷한 분포를 보였다. 이직사유는 급여 및 근무조건의 이유가 29.2%로 가장 높게 나타났다.

우간다에서의 고급 정보통신기술 수용도 연구 : GIS/GPS 고릴라 추적 시스템 사례 (A Study on User Adoption of Advanced ICTs in Uganda : Focused on GIS/GPS Gorilla Tracking System)

  • Uganda is a country blessed with the biggest number of mountain Gorillas in the whole world. These animals contribute at least 12% in revenue generation to the Tourism sector through tracking by both local and foreign tourists who pay for the tracking permits. However, Gorilla tracking is also a big challenge even in the presence of highly skilled and well-trained game rangers. Development and implementation of a secure Computer and Mobile based Gorilla Tracking (GT) system that uses GIS and GPS technologies would be the most ideal technology to use. Therefore, this study aimed to find out the critical factors that would affect the Behavioral Intention of the would-be users to successfully decide to use such GIS/GPS-GT system. We used the existing UTAUT model to integrate six factors such as Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Employee Peer Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Behavioral Intention and System Use. However, Infrastructure Availability and Non-Technical Facilitating Conditions were added to reflect Ugandan ICT context. This amended UTAUT model was used to carry out the survey. The questionnaire was emailed to 220 government employees in the fields of ICT, Tour and Travel, Environmental Groups officials and Farmers who garden near the game reserves. A total of 133 were obtained fully completed, whereas 127 were deemed usable thus yielding a response rate of 58%. The analysis results show that except for non-technical facilitating conditions, effort expectancy, peer influence, performance expectancy and infrastructure availability positively affects behavioral Intention to use GIS/GPS-GT. This indicates that people in Uganda don't bother about regulations and rules in regard to using information system. As long as the system does what they want it to, anything else does not matter. As an employee in an organization is told to use a system by their supervisor, they have no objection to otherwise they risk losing their job. This implies that, supervisors have a great responsibility in the process of developing, implementing and using the system in Uganda.

클라우드 환경의 교통정보 서비스를 위한 조건부 확률 추론을 이용한 가상 머신 프로비저닝 스케줄링 (Virtual Machine Provisioning Scheduling with Conditional Probability Inference for Transport Information Service in Cloud Environment)

  • 전 세계적으로 자동차의 수요와 교통정보 서비스의 활용도가 높아지고 있다. 따라서 교통정보 서비스의 종류와 데이터의 양의 증가로 인해 많은 IT 자원 인프라가 필요하다. 인프라의 감소를 위해 클라우드 컴퓨팅이 주목을 받고 있으며, 자원관리를 위해 프로비저닝 스케줄링 기법이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 클라우드 환경에서 교통정보 서비스를 위한 조건부 확률 추론을 활용한 프로비저닝 스케줄링(PSCPI: Provisioning Scheduling with Conditional Probability Inference)을 제안한다. PSCPI는 가상머신의 상태에 따라 나이브 베이즈 추론 기법을 사용하여 가상머신의 가용율에 따라 작업 할당을 할 수 있다. 나이브 베이즈 기반의 조건부 확률 추론 프로비저닝 스케줄링을 활용하여 교통정보 서비스에 높은 처리율과 활용율을 보인다.

주식형 크라우드 펀딩이 고용창출에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Equity Crowdfunding on Job Creation)

  • 미국과 유럽 국가들에 대한 연구결과에 의하면, 순 고용을 창출하는 기업은 창업기업과 신생기업들이며, 실업률 감소와 경제 성장을 위해서는 창업기업의 수를 늘리고 창업기업의 생존율과 성장률을 높여주는 것이다. 자금조달은 창업과 신생기업 성장을 위해서 가장 중요한 요인이며, 특히 신생기업은 성장을 위한 자금조달능력에 따라 기업의 생존이 결정 될 수 있다. 주식형 크라우드 펀딩은 영업을 위한 효율적이고 혁신적인 자금조달 수단이며, 신생 기업이 온라인으로 수많은 대중들과 소통하게 하는 특성을 가지고 있기 때문에, 영업의 성공률과 성장률, 그리고 투자 수익성을 높여줌으로서 벤처캐피탈과 엔젤 투자가들의 투자를 유인하는 역할을 한다. 우리나라는 창업과 벤처기업의 생존율과 생존 기업들의 성장률이 미국과 다른 국가들의 신생기업 생존율과 성장률에 비하여 매우 낮은데, 그 원인은 창업 및 초기성장을 위한 자금 부족이 중요한 요인이 될 수 있다. 따라서 우리나라에서도 주식형 크라우드 펀딩이 벤처기업과 신생기업의 새로운 자금원이 되어 창업율과 창업기업의 생존율, 그리고 생존기업의 성장률을 증가시킴으로서 순고용 증가에 기여할 것이다. 우리나라는 2016년부터 주식형 크라우드 펀딩이 허용됨으로 고용창출에 미치는 확실한 효과는 향후 더 많은 연구가 필요한 분야일 것이다.

The Dentists' View of Dental Hygienist Duties in Korea

  • Background: The number and curriculum of dental hygienists in Korea have dramatically increased. Controversies have since resulted from insufficient job descriptions of the work performed by a dental hygienist. A dentist's perception was examined to legally reflect the actual work of dental hygienists. Methods: Four hundred and nineteen dentists were surveyed about the duties of a dental hygienist. Their views on the career and availability of each job were examined. The duties of the dental hygienist include 13 items in dental treatment preparation, 14 items of radiography, 21 items of preventive dentistry, 6 items of periodontal treatment, 12 items of oral medicine, 12 items of conservative dentistry, 8 items of prosthetics, 10 items of orthodontics, 7 items of oral and maxillofacial surgery, 6 items of implantation, 6 items of impression taking and model fabrication, 5 items of anesthesia and injection, 11 items of management and administrative, and 3 items of self-development. Results: Most of the duties were doable by a dental hygienist. Many dentists reported that managing implants, oral hygiene of special patients, some duties in oral medicine, teeth brightening, making temporary crowns, making individual trays, selecting shades, ligaturing, and precision impressions need ≥3 years of experience. Duties perceived by dentists not to be performed by dental hygienists were reading radiographs (55.4%), suture and stitch out (48.0%), intramuscular injection (36.0%), root planning (27.2%), cementation and removal of prostheses (23.2%), and examining pulp vitality (22.0%). Conclusion: Current laws are to be revised to include, the care provided by dental hygienists and under a physician's supervision. Flexibility is also needed to cope with rapidly changing dental technology.

Administrative Leaders and Their Role in Bringing About Development and Organizational Change in Universities (Northern Border University Case Study)

  • The research aims to identify the role of administrative leaders working in universities in the success of organizational development and change, and the extent of the relationship and ability of administrative leaders at all levels of leadership within universities to the effectiveness of the process of development and organizational change at Northern Border University. In addition to presenting some recommendations and suggestions that can contribute to identifying the best leadership styles that contribute to the success of the development process and positive organizational change. Where leadership, whether in the private sector or the public sector, is one of the main functions concerned with the processes of direction, development, and modernization in the performance of the facility and an important element to activate the organizations' ability to perform their role and achieve their goals. The behavior and trends of leaders represent an important indicator in knowing the type of efforts made by them to improve performance and develop organizations and human resources. The research reached many results, perhaps the most important of which is that the dominant leadership style in universities is the democratic style, followed by the bureaucratic leadership style. The results also showed that there is a significant role for administrative leaders in bringing about development and positive change at Northern Border University at the level of individuals, groups, and organizations. And it became clear that there is an availability of leadership capabilities to an acceptable degree in the administrative leaders. The results of the statistical analysis showed a positive relationship between administrative leadership ability and democratic style. In addition to the existence of a negative relationship between the administrative leadership ability and the bureaucratic style and the freestyle. It was also clear that there were no differences in dealing between males and females, as well as age, educational qualification, experience, and job grade, but there were differences in dealing with the job title.

Assessment of Household Catastrophic Total Cost of Tuberculosis and Its Determinants in Cairo: Prospective Cohort Study

  • Background: One goal of the End tuberculosis (TB) Strategy is to see no TB-affected households experiencing catastrophic costs. Therefore, it is crucial for TB-elimination programs to identify catastrophic costs and their main drivers in order to establish appropriate health and social measures. This study aimed to measure the percent of catastrophic costs experienced by Egyptian TB patients and to identify its determinants. Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study with 151 Egyptian TB patients recruited from two chest dispensaries from the Cairo governate from May 2019 to May 2020. We used a validated World Health Organization TB patient-cost tool to collect data on patients' demographic information, household income, and direct and indirect expense of seeking TB treatment. We considered catastrophic TB costs to be total costs exceeding 20% of the household's annual income. Results: Of the patients, 33% experienced catastrophic costs. The highest proportion of the total came in the pre-treatment stage. Being the main breadwinner, experiencing job loss, selling property, and the occurrence of early coronavirus disease 2019 lockdown were independent determinants of the incidence of catastrophic costs. Borrowing money and selling property were the most-often reported coping strategies adopted. Conclusion: Despite the availability of free TB care under the Egyptian National TB Program, nearly a third of the TB patients incurred catastrophic costs. Job loss and being the main breadwinner were among the significant predictors of catastrophic costs. Social protection mechanisms, including cash assistance and insurance coverage, are necessary to achieve the goal of the End TB Strategy.

액티브 네트워크 환경에서 대응 메커니즘을 이용한 노드 생존성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Survivability of Node using Response Mechanism in Active Network Environment)

  • 방화벽이나 침입 탐지 시스템 같은 기존의 보안 솔루션들은 새로운 공격에 대한 탐지 오보율이 크고 내부 공격자의 경우 차단할 수 없는 등 여러 가지 단점이 있다. 이러한 보안 솔루션의 단점은 시스템의 가용성을 보잔하는 메커니즘으로부터 보완할 수 있다. 노드의 생존성을 보장하는 메커니즘은 여러 가지가 있으며, 본 논문에서는 실시간 대응 메커니즘을 이용한 침입 감내(intrusion tolerance)를 접근 방법으로 한다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 생존성은 관심을 가지는 시스템 자원을 모니터링하고 자원이 임계치를 초과하면 모니터링 코드 및 대응 코드를 액티브 네트워크 환경에서 자동적으로 배포하여 동작하게 함으로써 시스템의 가용성을 능동적으로 보장하는 메커니즘을 제시한다. 자원 모니터링은 본 논문에서 제안한 평균 프로세스에 기반한 동적인 자원 제어 기법을 통해 수행한다. 대응 코드는 노드의 가용성을 위해 액티브 노드에 상주하거나 요청이 있을 때 해당 작업을 수행한다. 본 논문은 기존의 보안 솔루션이 갖는 단점에 대한 고찰을 통해 이를 보완한 침입 감내 메커니즘을 제시하고, 시스템 재설정 및 패치 수동성에 대한 단점을 액티브 네트워크 기반구조가 제공하는 서비스의 자동화된 배포 등의 장점을 통합한 노드의 생존성 메커니즘을 제시한다.
