A study on scholarship paradigm of 'Jiang Shan-Lei(張山雷)' -focus on "Nan Jing Hui Zhu Jian Zheng(難經滙注箋正)"- (장산뢰(張山雷)의 학술인식체계(學術認識體系)에 관한 연구 -"난경회주전정(難經滙注箋正)"을 중심으로-)

  • Objective: "Nan Jing Hui Zhu Jian Zheng" published in 1923 is a book that 'Jiang Shan-Lei' wrote. He selected the past footnotes about "Nan Jing(難經)" and developed his own medical ideas on its base. Method : We will try to understand on scholarship paradigm of 'Jiang Shan-Lei' focus on his "Nan Jing Hui Zhu Jian Zheng". Result and Conclusion : He introduced the western medicine system to the Chinese medicine education, and he introduced a viewpoint of the human body of the western medicine to the structure of the human body as well. He judged yes or no of the Chinese medicine theory on the base of his human body viewpoint focused on an anatomy and a physiology. His human body viewpoint like this helped prove actually some of the Chinese medicine theory that was explained ideally. However, it had inappropriate aspects in explaining the Chinese medicine, which has a low alteration of a theory by inferring from the principle, due to a changeability of the western medicine theory itself. Moreover, his rash judgement concerning the Chinese medicine theory on its base brought about even side effects hampering efforts which reveal the Chinese medicine essence.

  • Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) systems utilize the temperature difference between the surface water and deep ocean water to generate electrical energy. In addition to ocean surface waves, wind and current, in certain locations like the Andaman Sea, Sulu Sea and the South China Sea the presence of strong internal waves may become a concern in floating OTEC system design. The current paper focuses on studying the dependence of the CWP hydrodynamic drag on relative velocity of the flow around the pipe, the effect of drag amplification due to vortex induced vibrations and the influence of internal waves on the floating semi and the cold water pipe integrated OTEC system. Two CWP sizes are modeled; the 4m diameter pipe represents a small scale prototype and the 10m diameter pipe represents a full commercial size CWP. are considered in the study.

  • Internal solitary waves occur due to density stratification and are nonlinear in nature. These waves have been observed in many parts of the world including the South China Sea, Andaman Sea and Sulu Sea. Their effect on floating systems has been an emerging field of interest and recent offshore developments in the South China Sea where several offshore oil and gas discoveries are located have confirmed adverse effects including large platform motions and riser system damage. A valid numerical model conforming to the physics of internal waves is implemented in this paper and the effect on a spar platform is studied. The physics of internal waves is modeled by the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation, which has a general solution involving Jacobian elliptical functions. The effects of vertical density stratification are captured by solving the Taylor Goldstein equation. Fully coupled time domain analyses are conducted to estimate the effect of internal waves on a typical truss spar, which is configured to South China Sea development requirements and environmental conditions. The hull, moorings and risers are considered as an integrated system and the platform global motions are analyzed. The study could be useful for future guidance and development of offshore systems in the South China Sea and other areas where the internal wave phenomenon is prominent.

Introducing Network Situation Awareness into Software Defined Wireless Networks

  • The concept of SDN (Software Defined Networking) endows the network with programmability and significantly improves the flexibility and extensibility of networks. Currently a plenty of research works on introducing SDN into wireless networks. Most of them focus on the innovation of the SDN based architectures but few consider how to realize the global perception of the network through the controller. In order to address this problem, a software defined carrier grade Wi-Fi framework called SWAN, is proposed firstly. Then based on the proposed SWAN architecture, a blueprint of introducing the traditional NSA (Network Situation Awareness) into SWAN is proposed and described in detail. Through perceiving various network data by a decentralized architecture and making comprehension and prediction on the perceived data, the proposed blueprint endows the controllers with the capability to aware of the current network situation and predict the near future situation. Meanwhile, the extensibility of the proposed blueprint makes it a universal solution for software defined wireless networks SDWNs rather than just for one case. Then we further research one typical use case of proposed NSA blueprint: network performance awareness (NPA). The subsequent comparison with other methods and result analysis not only well prove the effectiveness of proposed NPA but further provide a strong proof of the feasibility of proposed NSA blueprint.
