  • This study aims to investigate the physical characteristics and architectural ornaments of the walls (DamJang) and their bordering area that defines the Rear Garden of Changdeok-gung, one of the Royal Palaces in Seoul. This area, centered on Buyong-ji(부용지) and Aeryeon-ji(애련지), features the morphological diversity of buildings, walls, gates and stone bases in the palace. The findings are summarized as follows: First, DamJang, as a basic architectural element for the space organization, takes a set of various forms featuring different construction materials while responding positively to the physiographic nature of the surroundings; Second, DamJang along with their gates, also features different types of ornamental expressions which also suggest the hierarchy of its building and space; Third, typical of the traditional garden design in Korea are a group of DamJang standing as independent structures mostly around Buyong-ji and Aeryeon-ji whose finishing conditions also differ based on the nature of the space; Fourth, among commonly observed examples of DamJang in the Rear Garden and Changdeok-gung palace-wide, is a 'T' shaped wall whose heights and materials function as a design element for the garden.

  • After observing a patient diagnosed with Progressive Muscular Dystropies from the August, 31, 2000 to the January, 2001, the following results are obtained. Method and Result: Under our assumption that the Korean Bee Venom Therapy is a good method to treat Progress Muscular Dystropies. Korean Bee Venom Therapy was applied on the following acupuncture points: BL23(Shinsu:腎兪), BL26(Guanyuanshu:關元兪), ST36(Chok-Samni:足三里), LI4(Hapkok:合谷), LV3(Taechung:太), SP10(Hyolhae:血海), SI9(Sojang-Kyonjong:貞). In addition CFC(Carthami Flos;紅花: and Cervi Pantotrichum Cornu;) Herbal-Acupuncture is also treated on the other acupuncture points. For herbal medication was given to the patient based on the Sasang Constitution, Taeyangin Ogapijangchuk-tang. Following these treatments in this case of Progressive Muscular Dystropies, the skeletal muscle functions made remarkable improvement. Conclusion: Based on the clinical results, traditional Korean Medical treatment is believed to be effective for treating Progressive Muscular Dystropies, and further studies should be conducted to provide more valuable information.

  • A plant growth-promoting substance, FM001, was isolated from the culture broth of Acremonium strictum MJN1. The purification steps included solvent extraction, adsorption chromatography using Diaion HP20, TLC on silica, and HLPC using a C-18 column. The purified FM001 enhanced rice seedling growth by $11.1\%\;and\;34.0\%$ of the dried weight of the shoots and roots, and also radish growth by $26.5\%\;and\;23.7\%$ of the top length and dried weight. FM001 also significantly promoted the growth of red pepper by increasing $32.7\%$ of fruit weight and $11.3\%$ as regards the height. FM001 consisted of C, H, O, N, and S, and its molecular weight was determined to be 537.78 Da. The structure of FM001 resembled brassinosteriods, and it would appear to have great potential as an effective bio-fertilizer.

  • Ji Cheng''''s great work on garden design theory, the ''''Yuanye'''', written in 1631 and originally published in 1634 is the first surviving treatise and most famous and comprehensive work on the suvject in the Chinese tradition. He constructed Dongdiyuan in Changzhou about 1623, Wuyuan in Yizheng in 1631, and Yingyuan in Yangzhou about 1634. But no poems and paintings written by him still exist, and none of his known gardens has survived. Therefore his design philosophy is able to be interpreted only by his work, Yuanye. This study aims at investigating the garden design theory in Yuanye. The results were summarized as follows. 1) Yuanye reflected the garden tastes of literati, and Ji Cheng endeavored to express the deas of literati painting into gardens. 2) The essence of the garden design theory is Xingzao, and Yindi, following the existing lie of the land, and Jiejing, to borrow from the scenery, are two major activities of Xingzao. 3) Ji Cheng''''s design theory build up on the basis of recognizing the existence of masters. 4) Yindi is the environmental and ecological planning and design method. This is the activity to reach the state of artistry through suitability. 5) Jiejing is not merely borrowing the landscape but the making use of scenery around the garden. And only the master has the skill in fitting in with the form of the land. 6) Ji Cheng pursuits the garden which will look like something naturally created though manmade. It is the goal of the Chinese traditional gardens and ideal situation. 7) Ji Cheng aims to unify the environment and landscape design dialectically into Xingzao.

  • TFT-LCD requires to use poly silicon for High resolution and High integration. Thin film make of Poly silicon on the excimer laser-induced crystallization of PECVD(plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition)-grown amorphous silicon. In the thin film hydrogen affects to a device performance from bad elements like eruption, void and etc. So dehydrogenation prior to laser exposure was necessary. In this study, use RTP(Rapid Thermal Process) at various temperature from $670^{\circ}C$ to $750^{\circ}C$ and fabricate poly-silicon. it propose optimized RTP window to compare grain size to use poly silicon's SEM pictures and crystallization to analyze Raman curved lines.

  • Objectives : The Purpose of this study was to evidence the effect of Herbal Acupuncture therapy(Sangsik no.1) by comparing body fat and obesity degree of Group B(group of Herbal acupuncture therapy and general obesity treatment) with Group A(group of non-Herbal acupuncture therapy and general obesity treatment) in twenty four patients who have received OPD treatment at Sang Ji oriental medical hospital and chiefly diagnosed obesity from June 2000 to September 2001. Methods : We checked the change of Obesity degree with Inbody 3.0. Results and Conclusions : Two groups were no significance, but remarkably showed a significant decrease in Percent Body Fat. According to the above results, it is considered that Herbal Acupuncture therapy(Sangsik no.1) showed a significant decrease in Percent Body Fat, but Others were no significance.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate a case of a patient with spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA) type 2 whose condition improved following treatment with Korean medicine. Methods: A 25-year-old man, diagnosed with SCA type 2, was treated with herbal medicine (Yukmijiwhang-tang-gami), acupuncture, and physical treatment. The therapeutic effect was evaluated using the Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and gait status. Results: Following treatment, the BBS score increased, and gait ataxia improved. Conclusions: This case study suggests that Korean medicine could be effective for relieving symptoms of SCA type 2.

  • Composing music is an inspired yet challenging task, in that the process involves many considerations such as assigning pitches, determining rhythm, and arranging accompaniment. Algorithmic composition aims to develop algorithms for music composition. Recently, algorithmic composition using artificial intelligence technologies received considerable attention. In particular, computational intelligence is widely used and achieves promising results in the creation of music. This paper attempts to provide a survey on the music generation based on the Monte Carlo (MC) algorithm. First, transform the MIDI music format files to digital data. Among these data, use the logistic fitting method to fit the time series, obtain the time distribution regular pattern. Except for time series, the converted data also includes duration, pitch, and velocity. Second, using MC simulation to deal with them summed up their distribution law respectively. The two main control parameters are the value of discrete sampling and standard deviation. Processing the above parameters and converting the data to MIDI file, then compared with the output generated by LSTM neural network, evaluate the music comprehensively.
