  • Recently, the interest of the engine capacity and environment of the atmosphere is increasing, so the researches for the engine capacity have been conducted for a long time. But the internal environment of an automotive engine is very severe. A piston is exposed to combustion gas of over $2000^{\circ}C$ and strong friction is occurred by high speed motion in the cylinder. The fraction between piston and wall of the cylinder causes the increase of temperature in the engine. The temperature of the engine has an effect on the engine capacity. If the temperature is high, the capacity of the engine is low. So we have to maintain the optimum temperature. To maintain the optimum temperature, the enough flow rate of the engine oil is needed. The oil jet is used to control the flow rate of the engine oil and supply the engine oil to the piston and cylinder. The purpose of this study is to check the mass flow rate of the engine oil and the characteristics of internal flow of the oil jet. Flow pattern of the engine oil is very important because it concludes the loss in the oil jet. This study is the previous research about the oil jet and we will consider the movement of the ball check valve to get more accuracy result.

고압 유동조건에서의 액체 램제트 엔진의 분무특성 (Spray Characteristics of a Liquid-fueled Ramjet Engine under High Pressure Air Condition)

  • In a liquid-fueled ramjet engine, the insufficient mixing and evaporation result in the low combustion efficiency and combustion instability. Improving its characteristics and devising a means of fuel droplets with air may compensate these disadvantages of liquid fuel ramjet engine. The jet penetrations of various fuel injectors were measured to investigate the spray characteristics of a liquid-fueled ramjet engine under high pressure air-stream conditions. The penetrations in high pressure conditions are smaller than the values calculated from Inamura's or Lee's equations, and the jet penetrations in the high pressure conditions have a similar tendency. In the dual orifice injectors, the jet penetrations of rare orifice is rapidly increased due to the reduction of the drag, which is created by the jet column of front orifice. The jet penetration of rare orifice is increased because of the drag reduction created by the jet column of the front orifice. Because of the drag reduction formed by the column of jet, the jet penetration in the rear orifice of dual orifice injector is much larger than the jet penetrations of single orifice injector. As the distances of the orifice are increased, the jet penetrations of the rear orifice decrease.

유한요소법을 이용한 제트엔진 디스크의 초소성 단조공정설계 (Process Design in Superplastic Forging of a Jet Engine Disk by the Finite Element Method)

  • Process design in superplastic forming to produce a Nickel-base jet engine disk has been carried out using the rigid-viscoplastic finite element method. This study aims at deriving systematic procedures in forging of superalloy engine disk, and develops a simple scheme to control strainrate within a range of superplastic deformation during the forging operation. The new process, a pancake type preform being used, is designed to have less manufacturing time, and more even distribution of effective strain in the final product, while the conventional superplastic forging of an engine disk has been produced from a cylindrical billet. The jet engine company, Pratt & Whitney, provided the basic information on the manufacturing process of superplastic forging of a jet engine disk.

  • Construction machinery includes an engine enclosure separated from a cooling system enclosure by a wall to reduce noise and advance cooling system performance. For this structure, however, the axial fan cannot be of benefit to the engine room, and so the temperature rise in the engine room makes several bad conditions. This paper proposes that hot air in engine room is evacuated tv secondary pipe using jet pump. This paper demonstrates the structure and the effect of jet pump and useful guideline on design of area, length, and shape of secondary pipe to maximize the effect of jet pump.

제트엔진의 슬라이딩모드 제어기 설계 (Design of Sliding Mode Controller for Jet Engine)

  • The technique of sliding mode control has been introduced and designed for jet engine controller. For designing the controller for controlled element, the state space model of the turbojet engine is derived in advance from the perturbation of non-linear engine dynamic equation at operation point. Based upon the jet engine model, the robust sliding mode controller is proposed associated with the optimum sliding mode function. The numerical simulation demonstrates that the designed sliding mode controller proves its effectiveness for the jet engine by showing superior control performances over the conventional PI controller with fast responses and robustness to disturbance.

  • 제트엔진변조(Jet Engine Modulation: JEM) 식별기법은 제트엔진의 주기적인 회전에 의해 변조되는 레이더 반사 신호로부터 제트엔진의 종류를 식별하는 기법이다. 본 논문에서는 JEM의 새로운 접근법으로서, 제트엔진의 특성을 추출하기 위한 자동화 알고리즘을 제안한다. 먼저 복소 신호의 경험적인 모드 분리법(Complex Empirical Mode Decomposition: CEMD)을 거친 JEM 신호의 자기상관도로부터 제트엔진의 회전 주기를 산출한다. 그 후 DM(Divisor-Multiplier) 규칙 및 'Scoring' 개념을 JEM 스펙트럼 해석에 도입하여 최종적인 날개개수를 추정한다. 시뮬레이션 및 측정 JEM 신호로의 적용 결과를 통해 제안된 알고리즘이 정확하고 자동적인 제트엔진 정보 추출에 효과적임을 입증하였다.

  • A study on swirl chamber for diesel engine is to realize lower fuel consumption and exhaust emission than the current marketing engines. Author formerly reported the performance characteristics of small IDI diesel engine with swirl chamber by changing the jet passage area and its angle, and the depth and shape of the piston top cavity. Following after the first report, in this paper, the characteristics of fuel consumption, soot emission, and exhaust gas temperature were examined and analyzed after dimension of jet passage area expanded to $70.1mm^2$ The results were that the optimum values of the jet passage area depending on the depth of the piston top cavity were different at each engine speeds and loads, and in accordance with application of engine running conditions they were able to be selected as optimum dimensions of each design parameters.

  • As vehicles are recently becoming more important in our life, the study for engine capacity has been conducted for many years. Specially, the study on lubrication in the engine is needed to develop engine capacity. The role of lubrication is to reduce fraction, manage the temperature and protect from corrosion etc. At the view point of the engine, lubrication and cooling of the engine have an effect on the life and efficiency, so we have to study this problem. Ball check valve is located in the inlet of the Oil Jet. Ball check valve is used to control the flow rate of the engine oil, which cools and lubricates the engine. Flow rate at the oil jet is very important, so the study for this problem is needed to conduct researches. The point of this study is to compute the flow rate and the flow in oil jet. The results of this study is that the mass flow rate is satisfied with the research which is obtained at the experiment.

  • 2005년에 처음 소개된 HRRP-JEM(High Resolution Range Profile-Jet Engine Modulation) 영상은 항공기 표적에 탑재된 제트 엔진의 장착 위치를 추정함으로써 레이더 표적 인식을 수행한다. 본 논문에서는 복소 신호의 이심률을 기반으로 HRRP-JEM 영상에서 제트 엔진 위치를 추정하기 위한 새로운 접근법을 제시한다. 복소 신호의 이심률은 HRRP-JEM 영상을 구성하는 어떤 거리 성분(range bin)에서의 레이더 수신 신호에 미치는 JEM 성분의 기여도를 효과적으로 산출할 수 있다. 따라서 JEM 성분의 기여도가 가장 큰 거리 성분이 제트 엔진의 위치에 해당하며, 이를 짚어냄으로써 보다 정량적이고 신뢰성 있는 제트 엔진 위치 추정이 가능할 것으로 기대된다. 사실적인 항공기 모델의 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 본 논문에서 제안한 개념의 유효성을 입증하였다.
