This paper investigates the development and aesthetics of Korean political theatre from its quickening period 1920s to democratization era 1990s. Political theatre before 90s developed an antithesis resistant movement toward Korean modern history that had been scattered with suppressing political circumstances such as colonial era and dictatorial government, the movement has powerful activity and social influences. Just like the 20 century political theatre had been quickened under the influence of Marxism at Russia and Germany in 1920s, Korea's political theatre began in socialism theatre movement form around the same time. Proletarian theatre groups had been founded in Japan and Korea, and developed into practical movement with organized connection. However, the political theatre movement in Japanese colonial era was an empty vessel makes great sound but not much accomplishments. Most performance had been canceled or disapproved by suppression or censorship of the Japanese Empire. The political theatre in liberation era was the left drama inherited from Proletarian theatre of the colonial era. Korean Theatre alliance took lead the theatrical world unfold activities based on theatre popularization theory such as 'culture activists' taking a jump up the line and 'independent theatre' peeping into production spot as well as the important event, Independence Movement Day Memorial tournament theatre. Since 1947, US army military government in Korea strongly oppressed the left performances to stop and theatrical movement was ended due to many left theatrical people defection to North Korea. The political theatre in 1960s to 70s the Park regime, developed in dramatically different ways according to orthodox group and group out of power. The political theatre of institutional system handled judgment on sterile people and had indirect political theatre from that took history material and allegory technique because of censorship. In political theatre out of institution, it started outdoor theatre that has modernized traditional performance style and established deep relationship with labor spot and culture movement organizations. Madangguek(Outdoor theatre) is 'Attentive political theatre', satirizing and offending the political and social inconsistencies such as the dictatorial government's oppression and unbalanced distribution, alienation of general people, and foreign powers' pillage sharply as well as laughing at the Establishment with negative characters. The political theatre in 1980s is divided into two categories; political theatre of institutional system and Madangguek. Institutional Political theatre mainly performed in Korea Theatre Festival and the theatre group 'Yeonwoo-Moudae' led political theatre as private theatre company. Madangguek developed into an outdoor theatrical for indoor theatre capturing postcolonial historical view. Yeonwoo-Moudae theatre company produced representative political plays at 80s such as The chronicles of Han's, Birds fly away too, and so on by combining freewheeling play spirit of Madangguek and epic theatre. Political theatre was all the rage since the age of democratization started in 1987 and political materials has been freed from ban. However, political theatre was slowly declined as real socialism was crumbling and postmodernism is becoming the spirit of the times. After 90s, there are no more plays of ideology and propaganda that aim at politicization of theatre. As the age rapidly entered into the age of deideology, political theatre discourse also changed greatly. The concept 'the political' became influential as a new political possibility that stands up to neoliberalism system in the evasion of politics. Rather than reenact political issues, it experiments new political theatre that involves something political by deconstructing and reassigning audience's political sense with provocative forms, staging others and drawing discussion about it.

This study explored the changes of the patterns of land use and the social patterns of ownership of Kumnamno in Kwangju under the rule of Japanese colonialism by analyzing the townscape of Kumnamno in terms of the form and function of it. The research was done considering three periods: the year of 1912, 1930 and 1945. Kumnamno is the name of the street as well as the legal district name, and includes Kumnamno 1-ga, 2-ga, 3-ga, 4-ga and 5-ga. In the year 1912, Kumnamno was utilized as land, farmland and road. With the increase in population and the urbanization of the Kwangju area, it gradually began to be changed into land. By 1941, it was completely turned into land. Before and after the year 1910, the streets intersecting the Kumnamno area came into being as the roads of the Kwangju town, and were built with a lattice pattern. The road building of the Kumnamno began in accordance with the building of Kwangju station in 1922. The road building linking Kwangju Station to Chonnam Provincial Hall marked the first appearance of Kumnamno. The block from Ku-sung-no to Kumnamno 3-ga was built in 1925, the block from Kumnamno 3-ga to 2-ga in 1921, and Kumnamno 1-ga in 1930. It was not until the year 1933 that the construction of streets ranging from Ku-sung-no through Kumnamno 5-ga was finished. Examining the land ownership of the Kumnamno area in 1912, the Japanese possessed the land of Kumnamno 1-ga, 2-ga and 3-ga on the one hand and the Koreans possessed the land of 4-ga and 5-ga on the other hand. In 1930, the Japanese enlarged their sphere of influence and controlled the land located in all the areas of Kumnamno, and the Koreans reduced their ownership of Kumnamno 4-ga and 5-ga. There was a tendency for companies to occupy the land rapidly. In 1945, while the land owned by the Japanese decreased and the land owned by the Koreans did not change in quantity, the possessions of companies increased. To summarize, the Kumnamno area had some changes in the use of land during the above mentioned period. This was in part due to the construction of a street linking Kwangju Station to Chonnam Provincial Hall in order to strengthen the authority of the Japanese Government-General of Korea, as well as the expansion of the residential zone with the increase of the population of Kwangju.
This study constitutes an inquiry into the decline of Government Office(官衙) facilities carried out intensively during modern era, focusing on provincial government offices of Jeollabuk-do. There have been several studies of changes in provincial government offices till now, but there have been few studies of government offices of the counties and prefectures(郡縣) during the period of the Japanese Resident-General of Korea and after the National Liberation, temporally and there have still been lacking studies on Jeollabuk-do, spatially. Thus, this study attempts to empirically prove the reasons and the time of the decline of provincial government offices in Jeollabuk-do and the characteristics in the process of decline focusing on modern era. As a result of the study, four factors: demolition, abolition, appropriation and disaster had the most decisive impacts on the decline of government office facilities. Demolition refers to the destruction of government office facilities, and abolition, to the decline and the discontinuation of the operation of the facilities. Appropriation refers to conversion to facilities to meet public functions, and disaster, damage from a typhoon or fire. These factors had already been started from the 1900s, and by the 1930s, most of the government office facilities came to lose their original looks and functions. In the meantime, there was an essential purpose in demolition, the most direct factor in the destruction of the government office facilities in terms of function: that is new construction of public facilities necessary for administration and rule. The existing government office facilities were appropriated, sometimes, but behind that, many cases of demolition of the government office facilities for the new construction of public facilities are found. The appropriation of the government office facilities is divided into educational, administrative, financial and security facilities, and generally, Gaeksa(客舍) and Dongheon(東軒) were used respectively as educational and administrative facilities while their attached facilities were used as financial and public order and security facilities in general. Especially, some government office facilities were utilized as distinctive facilities such as housing or hospital. In the process of appropriation, a lot of modification occurred inside and outside the government office facilities, due to which, the government office facilities gradually declined losing their traditional styles.
This study was conducted to find proof for the hypothesis that the God tree of Chosun has been misrepresented in Chosun-Gersu-Nosu-Myungmokji (CGNM). The following results were obtained. First, it was established that 64 species and 3170 trees were recorded in CGNM. An old, big tree is classified as a God tree if linked to it there are testimonies and legends about divine elements, and it is classified as a Noble tree if linked to it there are testimonies and legends of historical elements. In total, 2632 trees of eight species were analyzed, from the Zelkova serrata, which has the greatest number of trees, to the eighth most frequent, Abies holophylla. The means of diameter at breast height (DBH), height, and age of the God and the Noble trees were calculated for each of the eight species. In seven out of eight species, the DBH and age of the Noble tree were more than those of the God tree. In addition, the height of the Noble tree was more than that of the God tree in six out of eight species. The fact that the God tree is smaller than the Noble tree, contrary to the common expectation that the Noble tree is a small size tree, was confirmed. This hypothesis was proved by the data gathered. Second, the Japanese Government-General of Korea has pursued a policy to defeat the village ritual based on the God tree being linked with superstition. For such a policy, the God tree should be small and unattractive, and it would have been good for the tree to be superstitious. The CGNM was created as explanatory material or evidence for distorting the sacredness of the God tree of Chosun. Third, CGNM compiled a chronological order of DBH data to make it easy to explain the fabricated facts that the God tree of Chosun is smaller and dwarfed compared to the Noble tree.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate how Japan tried to dominate Chosen through educational policies by analyzing three official English texts published by the Japanese Government-General of Korea: the First Chosen Educational Ordinance declared in 1911, the Manual of Education of Koreans(1913), and the Manual of Education in Chosen 1920(1920). In order to pursue this purpose, the present study carried a corpus-based diachronic analysis, rather then a qualitative analysis. Facilitating text analytics such as Word Cloud and CONCOR, this paper derived the following results: First, the first Chosen Educational Ordinance(1911) includes overall educational regulations, curriculum, and operations of schools. Second, the Manual of Education of Koreans(1913) contains the educational medium and contents on how to educate. Finally, it can be proposed that the Manual of Education in Chosen 1920(1920) contains specific implementation of education and the subject of education.
The incompetency and quasi-incompetency system regulated legal incompetence in the past is insufficient for protections of the adults with insufficient abilities of judgement, the criticism has been continued that the system is not efficiently respond to their rights and legal relationship formation. At last, the government introduces adult guardianship system through revising the civil law. At this point, just several months prior to the enforcement of adult guardianship system, we should be prepared to issues which may occur in the actual operation of the system. Japan has high similarities in social and culture matters with Korea and in the general operation of its adult guardianship system is similar to Korea's, Therefore, Korea should be prepared for the basis to implement the optimized system through in advance understanding the trend in Japan. The study reviews the trends of Japanese adult guardian's type, and draws suggestions for Korea by finding activity requirements and subjects focusing on the currently increasing corporation guardiancy.

Most Technological laws of Korea are almost identical to those of Japan. Electricity was not introduced to Korea until lighting ceremony in Kyong-Bok palace observed in 1887. Since Korea was annexed to Japan in 1910, Korea have applied Japanese law and regulations made by Chosun government-general. And public works were under Japan control. Korea accepted adopted the power plants of America, codes of NESC, ASME / ANSI, MEMA while Japan accepted or adopted only IEC. Our generation distribution system takes American style while our consumer side takes Japanese style. As global trade system was transferred GATT into WTO, the technological standards, certification, construction and testing are in harmony internationally. The WTO / TBT agreement came in effect after 12th, April, 1979. The sections in the agreement require the members to exchange their own standards and codes for the harmonized ones by degree. The Korean distribution system has a strong resemblance to American system so that the internal engineers are confused in application of the relevant standards. IEC60364 and NEC are technologically similar but practically unconvertible because both have their different originality, that is to say Europe and USA. This paper deals with the fundamental elements of electrical safety system on review of IEC 60364 and NEC. This paper considers how engineers should apply IEC60364 and NFPA 70(NEC) based on all-the-way review of them.
Korea, China and Japan show distinct features in their school environmental education, which are derived from their own spreading processes. Japanese school environmental education has developed as a result of assimilating of anti-pollution education and nature education, and has a feature that makes much of nature experiences. The introduction of 'Period for Integrated Study' in 2002 seems to begin activating Japanese school environmental education. Chinese school environmental education started in higher education institutions around the middle of 1970's, and has a feature that makes a point of scientific approach, even in primary education schools. The two government ordinances,'National Action Program for Environmental General Knowledge ($1996{\sim}2010$)' and 'Educational Scheme of Environmental Theme Study for Elementary and Secondary School Students' issued in 2003, gradually promote school environmental education in China. It is remarkable that Science and Technology Centers for Youth and also increasing environmental NPOs often support environmental activities in elementary or secondary schools. The most notable feature of Korean school environmental education is that 'Environment' has already offered as a regular elective subject in junior high school, and official 'Environment' textbook has published since early 1990's. Though, the adoption rate of 'Environment' is not yet so high. Each country's peculiar issues are as follows. Japan: (1) Students often lack basic knowledge about environmental important problems. (2) 'Period for Integrated Study' is now threatened with cutting hours by the idea of increasing periods for basic subjects to keep high achievement. China: (1) There are large regional differences and school distinctions in operation of environmental education. (2) Adult environmental education needs to be expanded, because the most part of Chinese have no experience of school environmental education. Korea: (1) The relationship between the administrative division which plans school environmental education and teachers group is not quite well. The adoption rate of 'Environment' in junior high school needs to be improved. The training of many teachers for environmental education instructors may be the most important and effective cooperative action among Korea, China and Japan, and for that purpose we ought to work on making a better handbook for instructors, at first.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to better understand nursing education in the early years of the Japanese colonial rule. Methods: We compared the 1918 Textbook on Nursing with the first Textbook on Nursing and to the original text, Grade A Textbook on Nursing, by the Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) using the historical research method. The background of its publication and its use in nursing education were exploring, too. Results: After Korea's annexation by Japan, the nursing textbook by the JRCS was appointed as the standard textbook in nursing education by the Government-General in Korea (GGK). Missionary nurse got the permission for the nursing textbook by JRCS and the Textbook on Nursing was published in 1918 using Korean and Chinese characters in combination. This book, an adaptation of the original text, explained the responsibilities and roles of nurses to guide them in serving patients as well as assisting in treatment or directly performing emergency medical treatment when necessary, with a focus on the treatment of the war wounded. It would have been partially used in actual nursing education among the missionary community. Conclusion: Textbook on Nursing in 1918 was published not only for the nursing students of missionary nursing schools but also for other nursing trainees of diverse hospitals, nurses and missionary volunteers and to help them to acquire the licenses. It reflects the enforcement on nursing education by GGK and the reality and resistance in terms of the content of education of nursing in Korea during that period.

During the Japanese colonial period in Korea, the Choson Governor-General was a kind of state organ. At that time, for a local administrative office to be built, each province('Do') had to go through a certain administrative procedure and be approved by the Choson Government-General. In addition, it was necessary to receive financial support from the Choson Governor-General in the name of "state assistance" because the financial conditions of each province were not sufficient. To obtain this approval and financial support, the administrative procedure was divided into the first half, where each province requested the construction of a local administrative office, and the second half, where the Choson government-general approved it and supported it financially. There are studies on the first half procedure in 1914 and 1927, which were limited to the new construction of county('Goon') offices among several local administrative offices. This study analyzed the first half of the construction of all local administrative offices in the 1930s.
