This study aims to examine the change of fish market(魚物市場) and inland brokers(客主, kaegju) on Gunsan(群山), (1899-1919). The increasement of productive capacity in the agriculture and the development of exchange economy in the late period of Chosun Dynasty activated the distribution of fishery products. As a result, the inland brokers who participated in the production and distribution of fishes grew largely. They made the basement of fishery modernization by providing the funds for the fisheries and making the national distribution network. But Japanese fishermen began to hold the domestic market as the Japan government supported legislatively and economically after the opening ports of Korea. On the contrary, the distribution of fishery products had the characteristics different from the production of some. The case of Gunsan which opened in 1899 showed these characteristics as Gunsan is a short distance from Kangkyung(江景), one of three biggest markets and was a base of fishery, That is to say, though the fishery merchants from Japan set up 'a fish market'(魚市場), they didn't hold the sales network on Gunsan, Because the inland brokers on Gunsan had a sales network and began the socio-economic movement. It goes without saying that the instability of price, the difficulties of charge and the racial taste difference in fish made the fish sales from Japan confronted with the difficulties. After Japanese Imperialism enforced the Company Law, the Market Regulation, the Chamber of Commerce Law before or after 1910, Korean inland brokers were disprited and Japanese 'fish market' began to grow largely. These phenomena appeared on Gunsan, too. Especially, the opening of a railway was the main factor which strengthened Japanese 'fish market'. After 1915, Japanese 'fish market' on Gunsan defeated the distribution network of inland brokers.

In urban areas, the proportion of railway traffic in public transport is increasing. The congestion situation is repeated as the passengers concentrate on station and transfer facilities and the inconvenience of the passengers is increasing in terms of safety and convenience. Therefore, the importance of estimating the appropriate area of the station has been emphasized. The area estimation formula used in the metropolitan railway stations currently is a partial modification of the area estimation formula of Japan in the 1970s. It does not reflect changes in the social and cultural environment and patterns of passengers. The technical basis for major decision variables is insufficient. Therefore, the theoretical basis of the area estimation formula and the pedestrian environment satisfaction of the design guideline of metropolitan railway stations were analyzed in order to suggest improvement formula. The improved area estimation formula was verified by conducting field surveys on 5 stations of metropolitan railways and 15 stations of urban railways. The existing area estimation formula is LOS E grade for the main space. However, the LOS D grade is implemented when the improved area estimation formula is applied. Based on the results, the design factors for the area estimation formula are suggested.

Currently the train operating environment to affect track irregularity is changed rapidly such as speed-up, linear improvement and rolling stack upgrade. The recent track maintenance criteria of track irregularity was quoted from past Japan's, and the needs of revision of criteria are increased because of the rapid change in train operating environment. In case of enhance the track irregularity criteria, it secure driving safety and riding comfort but maintenance cost are increase. And also decrease ballast durability by frequent corrective work. In case of mitigate the criteria, it decrease driving safety and riding comfort, but save the maintenance cost. The study for enacting rational criteria did not carry out so far. In this study, survey the domestic and international track irregularity and case study for track irregularity inspection results and maintenance history for guideline of enacting irregularity criteria study.

Regional torrential rains in summer this year due to abnormal climate changes compared to last year, have been frequent. Since Typhoon Rusa and Typhoon Maemi resulted in major damage to railroad facilities in 2002 and 2003 consecutively, problems with abnormal climate changes became a global problem including railroad and floods and droughts around the globe, heavy snow and winter warming have been repeated until now. Serious problem of radiation leakage in Fukushima nuclear power plant by the Tsunami due to 9.0-scale earthquake, this year in March, in northeastern Japan happened, and has given an impact on the life of Japanese citizens and industries and has also influenced on Korean. This shows how important to secure and to protect major national facilities including railroad structures to natural disasters such as earthquake. Therefore, we will briefly discuss about technologies for securing and protecting railroad structures to earthquakes, floods and other natural disasters.

ICAO Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme is a comprehensive evaluation for aviation safety matters, including aircraft operation, licensing and aircraft incident/accident investigation. As this programme is measures aviation safety level of States, there is a need to meet international standards, especially in the field of aircraft incident/accident investigation. This research discusses points required to satisfy international standards, which are independence and autonomy of an accident investigation board, the lack of the enough number of investigators and efficient management of those personnel, the effective composition and use of an investigation report, an accident investigation itself to build big data and the creation of a cooperation system among States. This paper suggests various opinions in order to enhance aviation safety especially through aircraft accident investigations, using case studies from the US, UK and Japan.

In order to develop a verification method for extremely low cycle fatigue (ELCF) of steel structures, the initiation mechanism of ductile cracks is investigated in the present study, which is the first step of brittle fracture, occurred in steel bridge piers with thick-walled sections. For this purpose, a total of six steel columns with small width-thickness ratios were tested under cyclic loading. It is found that ductile cracks occurred at the column base in all the specimens regardless of cyclic loading histories subjected. Moreover, strain history near the crack initiation location is illustrated and an index of energy dissipation amount is proposed to evaluate deformation capacity of structures.

Several countries such as Japan, France and so on gradually operate double deck trains as efficient, reliable and comfortable mass transportation systems. However, the double deck trains have relatively big cross sectional areas and high mass centers that cause unsafe vehicle running performances and interface problems between the vehicles and infrastructures, and do not have enough spaces for electric equipments. Therefore, prior to operate double deck trains on the existing lines in Korea, careful investigations should be performed. In this study, we have roughly designed a double deck EMU train system for the existing lines around Seoul metropolitan area.

Communication line used in the rail-road have different use from subscriber line in the public telecommunication. But, when an existing communication equipment is replaced, by applying new high-speed transfer technology, we can anticipate the increase of transmission rate and decrease of waiting time according to high-speed of communication line. cost reduction of infrastructure construction and maintenance/repair according to centralization of communication line and transmission equipment. In this study, the transmission scheme of several xDSL(Digital Subscriber Line) modems were compared and analyzed. The way of applying xDSL modem to the metal cable which is used in the JR(Japan Railroad) is analyzed. In addition, the result tested in railroad communication line was reviewed.

Safety requirment or guidance have been developing for a long time in the UIC, Germany, France, and Japan etc. Also, In Korea, the Ministry Construction & Transportation make an progress about this issue, document, called 'railroad tunnel safety standards 6th draft', was developed. In this paper, we'll show standard of other country and compare with Korea draft. next, we'll show some kind of railroad safety facility and installations and explain a relationship of safety issue and standards

Comparison it analyed the tunnel travelling hour interior noise arresting quality of the inside and outside of the country high-speed vehicle from the research which it sees. In the interior sound arresting comparison objective vehicle of the tunnel travelling hour KTX vehicle from the research which it sees and it limited by the TGV vehicle of France and the ICE vehicle og Germany and the Shinkansen vehicle of Japan comparison it analyzed the interior sound arresting from the open field and the tunnel line. The tunnel passage hour interior sound arresting problem of the domestic KTX vehicle follows in the concreate track tunnel the ballast track tunnel and the interior sound arresting quality is appearing different.
