  • This paper presents a heuristic algorithm for the traveling salesman problem with time windows (TSPTW). Aniterative insertion algorithm as a constructive search heuristic and a hybrid meta heuristic combining simulatedannealing and tabu search with the randomized selection of 2-interchange and a simple move operator as animproving search heuristic are proposed, Computational tests performed on 400 benchmark problem instancesshow that the proposed algorithm generates optimal or near-optimal solutions in most cases. New best knownheuristic values for many benchmark problem sets were obtained using the proposed approach.

  • This paper studies a vehicle routing problem variant which considers customers to require simultaneous delivery and pick-up under time windows(VRPSDP-TW). The objective of this paper is to minimize the total travel distance of routes that satisfy both the delivery and pick-up demand. We propose a heuristic algorithm for solving the VRPSDP-TW, based on the ant colony system(ACS). In route construction, an insertion algorithm based ACS is applied and the interim solution is improved by local search. Through iterative processes, the heuristic algorithm drives the best solution. Experiments are implemented to evaluate a performance of the algorithm on some test instances from literature.

  • We proposed an adaptive steganography of an optical image using bit-planes and multichannel characteristics. The experiment's purpose was to compare the most popular methods used in optical steganography and to examine their advantages and disadvantages. In this paper we describe two digital methods: the first uses less significant bits(LSB) to encode hidden data, and in the other all blocks of $n{\times}n$ pixels are coded by using DCT(Digital Cosine Transformation), and two optical methods: double phase encoding and digital hologram watermarking with double binary phase encoding by using IFTA(Iterative Fourier Transform Algorithm) with phase quantization. Therefore, we investigated the complexity on bit plane and data, similarity insert information into bit planes. As a result, the proposed method increased the insertion capacity and improved the optical image quality as compared to fixing threshold and variable length method.

  • This paper dealt with a kind of heterogeneous vehicle routing problem with known demand and time deadline of customers. The customers are supposed to have one of tight deadline and loose deadline. The demand of customers with tight deadline must be fulfilled in the deadline. However, the late delivery is allowed to customers with loose deadline. That is, the paper suggests a model to minimize total acquisition cost, total travel distance and total violation time for a fleet size and mix vehicle routing problem with time deadline, and proposes a heuristic algorithm for the model. The proposed algorithm consists of two phases, i.e. generation of an initial solution and improvement of the current solution. An initial solution is generated based on a modified insertion heuristic and iterative Improvement procedure is accomplished using neighborhood generation methods such as swap and reallocation. The proposed algorithm is evaluated using a well known numerical example.
