This study looks at the international status of social co-operatives, international cases, and puts forward problems and suggestions centering on cases of advanced countries. It sought to find a solution to what society required only by solving the problems necessary for sustainable economic growth. In order to achieve the objectives of this study, the social cooperatives of advanced countries, such as Italy, Canada, and France, were organized, compared and analyzed. • Considering sensory characteristics Herbal mayonnaise, Herbal yoghurt and Herbal italia dressing with extracts of gugija(Lycium chinense) as additives, this study attempts to develop dressing that meets preference of people of Korea through sensory characteristics. The test results of moisture, pH, color, viscosity and sensory testing dressings with 10%, 15% and 20% extracts of gugija(Lycium chinense) as follow; Moisture contents increase in proportion to addition of the extracts of gugija(Lycium chinense). Sugar contents decrease in proportion to addition of the extracts of gugija(Lycium chinense). Also pH values of dressings increase with addition of gugija(Lycium chinense) extracts. Lower Hunter L values are observed from the dressings with the extracts of gugija(Lycium chinense) than control groups. Higher Hunter a values are observed from the dressing with gugija(Lycium chinense) extracts, whereas lower Hunter b values are observed from the dressings with gugija(Lycium chinense) extracts. The lower viscosity values are observed with addition of the extracts of gugija(Lycium chinense)s than control groups. For mayonnaise dressing, ML3 with 20% gugija(Lycium chinense) extract(MC1) mark highest overall preference. For yoghurt dressing, YL3 with 20% gugija(Lycium chinense) extract show highest overall preference. For Italian dressing, IL3 with 20% gugija(Lycium chinense) extract impart highest Overall preference. According to the results of this study, the dressings with the extracts of gugija(Lycium chinense) are preferred in color, flavor, taste and overall preference to control groups. This study might provide significant data for developing dressings with herbal medicine match with dishes to meet the needs for health of our contemporaries.

  • This research examnied the roles, the strategies and the influence of labor unions on the pension reform. In Italia labor unions were important actors in pension reform politics during 1990s, but in 2004 labor union was excluded from the pension reform. This difference is not only related with diffusion of the leftist party but also the experience of pension benefit retrenchment of the pension reform in 1995 in which labor unions had initiatives. Labor unions choose their strategies, social dialogue or mass struggle, depending on the attitudes of government. After change of government following the failure of the pension reform in 1994 Italian government tried social dialogue. In Dini reform in 1995, laborunions had initiative in making pension reform plan. Labor unions obtained member's approval using membership vote. It had repressed opposition from militant sectors effectively. However Labor unions concentrated on the issues of transition measures and protecting vested rights in seniority pension ignoring problems of contribution evasion of small-firm workers and benefit adequacy of young workers. Even when labor unions leaded social concertation processes and pursued union democracy, labor unions' influences on the pension reform had fundamental limitations.

  • Inflammatory cytokines play a major role in osteoclastogenesis, leading to the bone resorption that is frequently associated with osteoporosis. Sulforaphane, isolated from the Broccoli(Brassica oleracea var. italia) florets, inhibits the production of inflamatory cytokine. In the present study, we determined inhibitory effect of sulforaphane on Receptor activator of nuclear factor κB ligand(RANKL)-induced osteoclast formation. Sulforaphane inhibited the expression of osteoclast marker genes, such as tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase(TRAP), cathepsin K, matrix metalloproteinase 9(MMP-9), and calcitonin receptor in RANKL-induced RAW 264.7 macrophage. Also, sluforaphane inhibited the expression of osteoclast protein, such as TRAP, MMP-9, tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 6(TRAF6) and transcription factor nuclease factor of activated T cells(NFAT)c1. Sulforaphane inhibited RANKL-induced activiation of nuclear factor kappaB(NF-kappaB) by suppression RANKL-mediated NF-kappaB transcriptional acitivation. We are confirmed that sulforaphane inhibits not only transcriptional activity of NF-kappaB but also expressions of the osteoclastogenesis factors(TRAP, cathepsin K, MMP-9, calcitonin, TRAF6) and trranscription factor NFATc1.
