In this paper, we survey traffic control issues for the B-ISDN based on the ATM. We first investigate traffic descriptors to represent the characteristics of various ATM traffics in a standardized form. Also, we examine key issues related to the connection admission control, usage parameter control, network parameter control, priority control, and congestion control.

This paper revisits some old issues of irony, i.e., situational vs. verbal irony, and irony vs. paradox, in order to further clarify the issues. Although these issues seem to have been fully discussed, there are still unresolved and/or vague aspects that need to be accounted for. This paper also revisits the issue of theorizing the phenomenon of verbal irony, which has long been scrutinized by many philosophers and linguists including Aristotle, Grice, Sperber and Wilson, and recently, Utsumi and Attardo.

This paper intends to raise some of urban policy issues of managing and planning Seoul for the twenty first century. As one of the world's most dynamic megacities, Seoul is faced with at least two trends: one is globalization of the economy, and the other is humanization of urban development in relation to people's quality of life. Given this context, there are emerging issues in a time of transition as the following; pedestrianization, decline of city master plan, micro land use control, citizen involvement, metro-wide management, infrastructure provisions and maintenance, sustainable development, urban information sustaniable development, urban information system, and public-private partnership.

In this paper, we discuss hardware design and deployment issues in current passive UHF RFID systems. Using the link budget concept, the methodology to calculate forward- and reverse-link interrogation range is shown. Then, we consider hardware issues: phase diversity, phase noise with range correlation, and TX leakage problems. Finally, three interference problems when deploying RFID systems are presented.

As the technique in urban transit is composite system which is composed of vehicle, power supply, signal and communication, rail structure etc, it is very difficult to search the cause of technical troubles. This paper describes the improvement on pending issues which is discussed in urban transit corporation's conference. The conference for discussion on technical issues will be held every year, and the result of conference will be opened.

This study is concerned with process capability index in single process. We enumerated issues on the calculation of process capability index and described the effects of these issues. We explained the development process and the reason of the representative existing process capability indices. We investigated whether the indices agree with the concept of process capability and drew the problems from those results. In addition, we proposed alternative and direction to seize the process capability necessary to the field.

Web Services are considered to be a promising technology to add a new level of functionality to the existing World Wide Web. The finite nature of human existence leads many to search for meaning, which comes into sharper relief for those who are imminently facing death. Therefore, universal existential concerns such as the inevitability of death, existential isolation, loss of meaning, freedom, and dignity are inherent psychological issues in palliative care. Consequently, one of the critical challenges facing palliative care is how to address these issues effectively. This paper provides an overview of common themes of existential concerns and psychotherapeutic interventions to address existential distress among patients in palliative care.

Various kinds of coals are supplied for coal fired power plants as the coal market situations are fluctuated with the high prices of oil and coals over the world. The quality of coal is decreasing as coal consumption increased and some specifications of coals are out of boiler design criteria. It could make combustion troubles such as coal clogging, spontaneous combustion, coal firing in the coal handling equipments, ash slag and clinker issues, etc. This paper covers combustion troubles, issues and countermeasures in the biggest coal fired power plant in Korea.

This study presents the Family FIRO model for stepfamily development. The Family FIRO model conceptualizes interactional patterns in stepfamily for dealing with developmental tasks and suggests a method for organizing assessment and for prioritizing treatment strategies. Boundary ambiguity role confusion intergenerational coalition and loyalty conflict lack of relationship commitment and resource management issues of stepfamily constitute the inclusion interaction dimension in The Family FIRO model. While power role negotiation conflict decision making and discipline issues represent the control interaction dimension lack of emotional exchange and open self-disclosure issues are intimacy interaction dimension in the stepfamily. The family FIRO model suggests that stepfamily should attend to the developmental tasks related to inclusion before placing a major emphasis on control issues which in turn should come before emphasis on stepfamily intimacy.
