This paper proposes a fuzzy correction algorithm that can correct the distorted medical image caused by the scanning nonlinear velocity of the Digital X-ray Scanner System (DX-Scanner) using the Multichannel Ionization Chamber (MIC). In the DX-Scanner, the scanned medical image is distorted for reasons of unsuitable integration time at the nonlinear acceleration period of the AC servo motor during the inspection of patients. The proposed algorithm finds the nonlinear motor velocity modeling through fuzzy system by clustering and reconstructs the normal medical image lines by calculating the suitable moving distance with the velocity of the motor using the modeling, acceleration time and integration time. In addition, several image processing is included in the algorithm. This algorithm analyzes exact pixel lines by comparing the distance of the acceleration period with the distance of the uniform velocity period in every integration time and is able to compensate for the velocity of the acceleration period. By applying the proposed algorithm to the test pattern for checking the image resolution, the effectiveness of this algorithm is verified. The corrected image obtained from distorted image is similar to the normal and better image for a doctor's diagnosis.
Possible links among cosmic ray, cloud, and climate have scientific uncertainties. The reputed topics have been highly controversial during several decades. A link between the atmospheric ionization by galactic cosmic rays (GCR), which is modulated by solar activities, and global cloud cover was firstly proposed in 1997. Some researchers suggested that the GCR can stimulate the formation of cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) in the atmosphere, and then the higher CCN concentrations may lead to an increase of cloud cover, resulting in a cooling of the Earth's climate, and vise versa. The CLOUD (Cosmic leaving outdoor droplets) experiment was designed to study the effect of GCR on the formation of atmospheric aerosols and clouds under precisely controlled laboratory conditions. A state-of-the-art chamber experiment has greatly advanced our scientific understanding of the aerosol formation in early stage and its nucleation processes if the GCR effect is considered or not. Many studies on the climate-GCR (or space weather) connection including the CLOUD experiment have been carried out during the several decades. Although it may not be easy to clarify the physical connection, the recent scientific approaches such as the laboratory experiments or modeling studies give some implications that the research definitively contributed to reduce the scientific uncertainties of natural and anthropogenic aerosol radiative forcing as well as to better understand the formation processes of fine particulate matters as an important parameter of air quality forecast.

Two-dimensional steady state simulations of planar type radio frequency inductively coupled plasma (RFICP) have been performed. The characteristics of RFICP were investigated in terms of power transfer efficiency, equivalent circuit analysis, spatial distribution of plasma density and electron temperature. Plasma density and electron temperature were determined from the equations of ambipolar diffusion and energy conservation. Joule heating, ionization, excitation and elastic collision loss were included as the source terms of the electron energy equation. The electromagnetic field was calculated from the vector potential formulation of ampere's law. The peak electron temperature decreases from about 4eV to 2eV as pressure increases from 5 mTorr to 100 mTorr. The peak density increases with increasing pressure. Electron temperatures at the center of the chamber are almost independent of input power and electron densities linearly increase with power level. The results agree well with theoretical analysis and experimental results. A single turn, edge feeding antenna configuration shows better density uniformity than a four-turn antenna system at relatively low pressure conditions. The thickness of the dielectric window should be minimized to reduce power loss. The equivalent resistance of the system increases with both power and pressure, which reflects the improvement of power transfer efficiency.
The dosimetric properties of Ge- and Er-doped optical fibres are studied. The Ge-doped fibre is found to be more sensitive to radiation and there is little fading of TL signal compared with Er-doped fibre. The Ge- and Er-doped fibres showed a linear response over a range of ${\sim}1\;Gy$ to about 120 Gy and ${\sim}1Gy$ to about 250Gy respectively. The Ge-doped fibre is found to be dose-rate independent both for photons and electron beams of energy ranging from 6 to 10 MeV and 6 to 12 MeV respectively. The fibre is energy independent for energy greater than ${\sim}0.1\;MeV$ for photon or 0.1 MeV for electron beam. From the depth-dose measurement, it was found that the position of maximum dose, dmax, increased with increasing energy ranging from ${\sim}2\;cm$ and ${\sim}2.5\;cm$ for 6 MeV and 10 MeV photons respectively. The central axis percentage depth dose at 10 cm depth was found to be in good agreement with the value obtained using ionization chamber.

We have developed and used BISS as a radiation detector to verify patient dose and determine the physical characteristics of beams used in Stereotatic Radio Surgery(SRS) and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy(IMRT). In order to confirm the function and accuracy of our BISS, we simulate our measurements by BISS under the radiation of 6MV photons from a Varian Clinac 21EX equipped with a 60 leaf pairs MLC. For the simulation based on the Monte Carlo algorithm, which remains the most comprehensive and accurate theoretical method to verify beam profiles, we use the BEAM code. Compared with the measurements by BISS, our simulation of variously shaped phantom measurements show good agreements. Our simulation results can be used as a theoretical standard to compare and confirm measurements by BISS and other dosimeters such as ultramicro cylindrical ionization chamber(UCIC) and radiographic film.
Free radicals of lysozyme produced by $Ti-H_2O_2$ system were studied in aqueous solution at room temperature using ESR with a continuous flow-mixing. The spectra, each consisting of a doublet with 5.5 G splitting and a broad resonance covering 80 G splitting are closely similar in shape to that for solid irradiated in vacuum at $77^{\circ}K$ and observed at room temperature immediately on warming. The result is assumed to indicate that the secondary protein radical components formed within 0.01 second, dead time of the mixing chamber, and initiated by hydrogen atom abstraction at ${\alpha}$-carbon atom of peptide chain in liquid solution at room temperature are identical to those resulting from the initial formation of a mixture of positive holes and negative ions by ionization processes as well as radical fragments by the rupture of chemical bonds in the solid during similar time at the same temperature. A broad resonance is observed with considerable amplitude on the high field side of the doublet, which is quite dissimilar to the spectra of irradiated solid lysozyme. This resonance was tentatively attributed to the polypeptide free radical in which unpaired electrons are localized on side chain.
When high energy photon beam is incident upon an air cavity interface the effect of ionization build-up observed. This phenomenon is resulting from the surface layers of the lesions are significant deficiency of electrons reaching the layers because of the replacement of solid scattering material by the air cavity, that is lack of electronic equilibrium. Measurement have been made in an acrylic phantom with a parallel plate chamber and high energy Photon beams, CO-60, 4MV, 6MV and 10MV X-rays have been investigated. The result of our study show that a significant effect was measured and was determined to be very dependent on field size, air cavity dimension and photon energy. The reductions were much larger for 10MV beam, underdosage at the interface was 12, 12.2, 16.9 and 20.6% for the CO-60, 4 MV, 6MV and 10MV, respectively. It was found that this non-equilibrium effect at the interface is more severe for the higher energy beams than that of lower energy beams and the larger cavity dimensions it is, the larger beam reductions we have. This problem is of clinical concern when lesions such as carcinoma beyond air cavities are irradiated, such as larynx, glottic and the patients with maxillectomy and ethmoidectomy and so forth.

IVR procedures are on the rise, and patient doses are on the rise. It is necessary to evaluate fluoroscopy dose in IVR procedure. Evaluate ESD on IVR equipment as a reference to DRL settings, I would like to present the direction of improvement in the ESD rate test criteria for fluoroscopy dose. The experimental method is measured with 6cc ionization chamber under the 20cm PMMA Phantom. Radiation is subject to abdominal procedure. The average dose rate of the incident surface was 21.6 ± 11.4 mGy/min. The highest dose equipment was 58.5 mGy/min, and there was no equipment exceeding the domestic standard of 100 mGy/min. However, there were five units above 50 mGy/min. To reduce fluoroscopy dose, it is recommended to reduce pulse rate, The dose increases as the image receptor ages. It is recommended to modify the domestic inspection criteria to 50 mGy/min.
The metal-plates(Aluminium. Copper, Lead) of change the variation thickness have been penetrated by the collimated beam($450mm{\times}4mm{\phi}$) of Gamma-ray from $^{192}Ir$. Then, the scattered $\gamma$-ray dose in variable angle and the directly transmitted $\gamma$-ray dose were measured using the electrometer of ionization chamber. The results were summarized as follows: 1. Obtained the mass attenuation coefficients of $Al;0.0937cm^2g^{-1},\;Cu;0.0937cm^2g^{-1},\;pb;0.244cm^2g^{-1}$. 2. Total intensity of front scattered $\gamma$-ray follow the order of Al>Cu>pb. 3. The scattered $\gamma$-ray intensity with the lager angle of scattering was saturated after increase rapidly, and the scattering angle of the more larger was decreased. 4. The scattered $\gamma$-ray intensity through plates of aluminium or copper was saturated after increase with thicker scatterer, and the intensity was decreased at the more thicker. But the variation of scattered $\gamma$-ray dose in the lead plate made the fewest than Al and Cu. 5. The ratio of the scattered $\gamma$-ray dose and the directly transmitted $\gamma$-ray dose was saturated after increase with the thicker scatterer, and the scatterer of the more thicker was decreased. Degree of total intensity in these ratios was followed the order of Cu>Al>Pb.
