총고조파 왜율과 리플 감쇄율을 이용한 계통연계형 PCS용 LCL 필터 설계 (LCL Filter Design for Grid-connected PCS Using Total Harmonic Distortion and Ripple Attenuation Factor)

  • 본 논문에서는 총고조파 왜율(THD, Total Harmonic Distortion)과 리플 감쇄율(RAF, Ripple Attenuation Factor)을 이용한 계통연계 인버터용 LCL 필터 설계 방법을 제안한다. 인버터 측 인덕터 전류의 총고조파 왜율($THD_i$)과 필터 커패시터와 계통 측 인덕터 사이의 전류 리플 감쇄율(RAF), 그리고 계통에 주입되는 전류의 총고조파 왜율($THD_g$)의 관계를 분석하여 관계식을 도출하고, 이 관계식을 바탕으로 계통 주입 전류의 $THD_g$ 목표치를 만족하는 $THD_i$와 RAF를 선정하여 계통 측 인덕터($L_g$)와 인버터 측 인덕터($L_i$)의 인덕턴스 값을 계산한다. 한편 커패시터의 커패시턴스 값은 커패시터에 유입되는 무효전력을 고려하여 선정한다. 제안한 방법으로 LCL를 설계하여 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 계통에 주입되는 전류의 $THD_g$가 목표치를 만족하는 것을 보임으로써 설계 방법의 타당성을 입증한다.

  • When Photovoltaic inverter is connected to grid and used as PVPCS (Photovoltaic Power Conditioning System), 120 Hz AC ripple occurs at the dc-link capacitor voltage. This AC ripple reduces the efficiency of PVPCS and shortens the lifetime of the capacitor. In this paper, we design a notch filter to remove AC ripple. As a result, the AC voltage ripple was removed from the dc link and the THD of the PVPCS output current with the notch filter was lowered. This notch filter is determined by the damping coefficient, the bandwidth coefficient, and the switching frequency. Among these, the switching frequency determines the switching loss and the size of the LC filter, and the PVPCS with the high switching frequency has a greater efficiency loss due to the switching loss than the efficiency improvement by the notch filter. Therefore, it is important to set the optimum switching frequency in the PVPCS with the notch filter applied. In this paper, THD and switching loss of PVPCS output current with notch filter are calculated through simulation, and cost function to calculate optimum switching frequency through data is proposed.

  • 본 논문은 계통 연계형 3-레벨 인버터 시스템을 위한 LCL-필터 설계 방법을 제안한다. 최근 풍력 및 태양광과 같은 신재생에너지 발전 시스템을 위한 3상 PWM 인버터의 수요가 증가하고 있다. 이러한 PWM 인버터는 스위칭 동작에 의해 발생하는 고조파 성분을 제거하기 위하여 LCL-필터를 거쳐 계통과 연결된다. 필터 설계에 관한 다양한 연구가 진행되었지만 최소의 사이즈로 목표하는 고조파 제거 성능을 얻기 위해서는 해당 PWM 인버터의 스위칭 방법을 고려한 필터 설계 방법이 요구된다. 본 논문은 공간 전압벡터 변조기법(SVPWM)에 최적화된 LCL-필터 설계방법을 제시한다. 시뮬레이션과 실험 결과를 통해 제안하는 방법으로 설계된 LCL-필터의 성능을 검증한다.

Enhanced Startup Diagnostics of LCL Filter for an Active Front-End Converter

  • The reliability of grid-connected inverters can be improved by algorithms capable of diagnosing faults in LCL filters. A fault diagnostic method during inverter startup is proposed. The proposed method can accurately generate and monitor information on the peak value and the location of the peak frequency component of the step response of a damped LCL filter. To identify faults, the proposed method compares the evaluated response with the response of a healthy higher-order damped LCL filter. The frequency components in the filter voltage response are first analytically obtained in closed form, which yields the expected trends for the filter faults. In the converter controller, the frequency components in the filter voltage response are computed using an appropriately designed fast Fourier transform and compared with healthy LCL response parameters using a finite state machine, which is used to sequence the proposed startup diagnostics. The performance of the proposed method is validated by comparing analytical results with the simulation and experimental results for a three-phase grid-connected inverter with a damped LCL filter.

  • In this paper a statcom is developed to improve the power quality in a dc traction system. The proposed statcom can be used as both inverter and active filter. As an active filter, it can compensate harmonic distortion and reactive power and as an inverter, it can recycle regenerative energy caused by decelerating trains. The simulation results are carried out by using PSCAD/EMTDC software.

  • in this paper the design procedure of three phase voltage source inverter output filter is described. The 'd' axis transfer function of the filter output voltage to the load current is described with the capacitor value and the system time constant including the controller. This means that the relation between the filter capacitor value and the system time constant is given as the closed form. By using the above closed form the capacitor value can be calculated with the system time constant is given as the closed,. form the capacitor value can be calculated with the system time constant which can be implemented practically not using the try and error method. And as the effect of the load is connected.

  • A new LCL filter design of a PCS with the consideration of fault current minimization is proposed. The magnitude of fault current is analysed with the variation of inverter side $L_i$, line side $L_u$, and filter capacitor $C_f$ under constant line side $THD_i$ of 5%. It is found that inverter side fault current reaches up to 200%~660% of the rated current with the variation of $L_i$. It is expected that the results can be applied to the detailed design of PCS filter.

  • 본 논문에서는 세탁기, 에어컨과 같은 가전기기에 사용되는 인버터 구동 교류 전동기 구동 시스템의 EMI 특성해석 및 필터 설계 방법에 대하여 기술하였다. 먼저, 인버터 구동 교류 전동기 구동 시스템의 전도성 EMI 발생 및 전달 메커니즘에 대하여 분석하였고, 공통 및 차동모드 노이즈 분리 기법을 이용한 EMI 필터의 설계 방법을 제시하였다. 제시된 방법의 타당성을 검증하기 위해 PWM 인버터로 구동되는 유도 전동기 구동 시스템에 대한 실험을 수행하였고 EN55014 EMI 기준을 만족하는 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.

The transfer function of the filter output voltage to the load current is described with the capacitor value and the system time constant including the controller. This means that the relation between the filter capacitor value and the system time constant is given as the closed form. By using the above closed form. the capacitor value can be calculated with the system time constant which can be implemented practically not using the try and error method. And as the effect of the load current to the voltage distortion can be calculated from the closed form, it can be verified how much the voltage distortion is effected when the nonlinear load is connected.

  • A sensorless active damping scheme for LCL filters in grid-connected parallel inverters for battery energy storage systems is proposed. This damping method is superior to the conventional notch filter and virtual damping methods with respect to robustness against the variation of the resonance of the filter and unnecessary additional current sensors. The theoretical analysis of the proposed damping method is explained in detail, along with the characteristic comparison to the conventional active damping methods. The performance verification of the proposed sensorless active damping method shows that its performance is comparable to that of the conventional virtual damping method, even without additional current sensors. Finally, simulation and experimental results are provided to examine the overall characteristics of the proposed method.
