  • Usually in South Korea, land cover type and topographic undulation are frequently changed even in a narrow area. However, most of researches using aerial LIDAR(LIght Detection And Ranging) data in abroad had been acquired in the study areas to be changed infrequently. This research was performed to explore reconstruction methodologies of 3D surface models considering the distribution of land cover type and topographic undulation. Composed of variously undulatory forests, rocky river beds and man-made land cover such as streets, trees, buildings, parking lots and so on, an area was selected for the research. First of all, the area was divided into three zones based on land cover type and topographic undulation using its aerial ortho-photo. Then, aerial LIDAR data was clipped by each zone and different 3D modeling processes were applied to each clipped data before integration of each models and reconstruction of overall model. These kinds of processes might be effectively applied to landscape management, forest inventory and digital map composition. Besides, they would be useful to resolve less- or over-extracted problems caused by simple rectangle zoning when an usual data processing of aerial LIDAR.

  • This study applied a home therapy convergence program to patients who had undergone mastectomy and examined its effects on their arm functions, occupational performance, quality of life, and depression. The number of subjects was 20. The subjects were those who visited an occupational therapy room as outpatients and received the intervention twice per week, forty minutes per each time, for 12 weeks. In order to look at their arm functions before and after the intervention, K-DASH was employed and their edema was measured with a tape line. In order to examine their occupational performance, quality of life, and depression before and after the intervention, COPM, FACT-B, and BDI, respectively, were utilized. After the intervention, their arm functions significantly increased, but their edema did not significantly decrease, their occupational performance and quality of life significantly improved, and their depression was significantly reduced. Thus, a home education convergence program positively affected mastectomy patients' arm functions, occupational performance, quality of life, and depression.

  • The growing stocks of young forests that are less than10 years of age have been excluded from the Korean forest resource statistics, despite the existence of standing trees; however, sustainable forest management and carbon removals in the forestry section require complete information regarding forest resources. This study developed a method to estimate the growing stocks for young forests from National Forest Inventory (NFI) data. After reviewing previous research on growth characteristics for young forests, we conducted stem analysis of major species, and examined stand characteristics by site index, based on real yield tables. Our statistical analysis results showed that there were few standing trees with diameters at breast height (DBH) above 6 cm in young stands, and that it would have taken 12 years, on average, to reach 6 cm DBH. This suggests that mean tree height by diameter should be assessed at the root, in order to assess growing stocks for young stands through the NFI. Moreover, the database system should be improved to differentiate tree species, since diverse shrubs, including trees, have been surveyed.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze annual tree ring growth characteristics for major tree species distributed in Chungbuk province. A total of 800 sample trees from 56 permanent sampling plots measured by the 5th Korean National Forest Inventory Program in 2007 was used for the calculation of annual growth rates. According to the results of this study, the species of Robinia pseudoacacia(2.30mm/yr) showed the best annual tree ring growth rates and the others are Quercus serrata(2.27mm/yr)>Prunus sargentii(1.98mm/yr)> and Larix leptolepis(1.98mm/yr) in order. Most of the major tree species in Chungbuk province, as tree age and stand density increased, annual tree ring growth rates tended to decreased. This information could be very useful for forest managers to understand annual tree ring growth characteristics in Chungbuk province.

  • Korean government is enforcing 'Greenhouse gas target management' in order to achieve Greenhouse gas reduction target. To attain Greenhouse gas reduction target, companies in Korea must establish their GHG inventory system and analysis their GHG emissions characteristics for deduction of mitigation measures. LMDI(Log Mean Divisia Index) decomposition analysis is widely used to understand characteristics of GHG emission and energy consumption. In this paper, the characteristics of GHG emission from the line of railroad in Korea is respectively analyzed in terms of conversion effect, intensity effect, production effect and distance effect. Data of railroad GHG emission from 2000 to 2007 are used. As a result, total effect of railroad's GHG emission is $96,813tCO_2eq$. Production effect ($39,865tCO_2eq$) and distance effect ($327,923tCO_2eq$) affect increase of railroad GHG emissions while Conversion effect ($-158,161tCO_2eq$) and intensity effect ($-112,814tCO_2eq$) influence decrease of the emissions.

  • Securing reference information (inventory) is essential for proper conservation and management of protected areas. Moreover, the investigation results should be available for comparison and evaluation. For this study, we established seven investigational lattices and carried out the field examinations to obtain comparable data in the Donggang river basin ecological and scenery conservation area, We conducted a total of 16 field surveys and identified a total of 830 taxa that is composed of 127 families, 408 genera, 716 species, 10 subspecies, 88 varieties, and 16 forms. We identified a total of 487 taxa in the 6th investigational lattice and 457 taxa in the 4th. We observed 6 species (grade II) designated by the Ministry of Environment as the endangered plants, one "species to monitor" designated by the Ministry of Environment, and 23 taxa designated as endemic species. Regarding the floristic characteristics plants, 15 taxa of grade V, 27 taxa of grade IV, 38 taxa of grade III, 31 taxa of grade II, and 19 taxa of grade I were identified. The 6th investigational lattice showed the largest number of taxa at 70. A total of 58 taxa were identified as the naturalized plant, and the 6th investigational lattice showed the most at 35 taxa. The Donggang river basin ecological and scenery conservation area was assessed to be an extremely important area to conserve and maintain plants species diversity not only in the regional scale but also national scale.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine Enneagram personality type and the degree of clinical practice stress by personality type among nursing students, as well as to set a direction for student counseling and develop a management program. For this purpose, the Enneagram personality type inventory, developed by the Korea Enneagram Spirituality Institute, and a clinical practice stress scale were applied to juniors and seniors majoring in nursing in a district who were in clinical practice. The results were analyzed using an SPSS 25.0 program. Type 2 among the nine Enneagram personality types accounted for 47.66% while in the strength- centered area, the emotional area accounted for 64.84%. As for the degree of clinical practice stress by Enneagram personality type, Type 6 was most vulnerable to the training environment, Type 4 to an undesirable role model and conflicts with patients, and Type 5 to the burden of training tasks and conflicts in interpersonal relationships among the sub-areas of stress. As for the degree of clinical practice stress by the strength-centered area of Enneagram, the thinking type was most vulnerable to the training environment, an undesirable role model, the burden of training tasks, and interpersonal relationships, whereas the emotional type to conflicts with patients. To put these results together, nursing students varied in Enneagram personality type and differed in clinical practice stress by the strength-centered area, as well as by personality type. It is therefore necessary to provide nursing students with counseling and guidance through an analysis of their personality type.
