In this study, a direct tensile test was planned to identify the tensile performance of UHPC, and the irregularity of cracks, which is a problem of the direct tensile test, was complemented through the introduction of notches at the center of a specimen. In this regard, a number of specimens divided by batch to reduce the deviation of direct tensile test values were fabricated to present reference data with respect to highly reliable direct tensile strength values. In addition, the mechanical properties and reliability of the specimens were examined under the curing conditions of the specified design strength of 120MPa for the steel fiber reinforced concrete with 1.5% fiber volume fraction, which is most suitable for the field application. As a result, the deviation of averages by batch between compressive strength and direct tensile strength did not show a large difference, and all cracks occurred within 20mm in the direct tensile test. At the 95% confidence interval of the direct tensile strength, the range was considerably small in the mean and the standard deviation, and there was no significant difference depending on the curing conditions. The results confirmed that a stable direct tensile test was performed, and highly reliable results were obtained through the fabrication of specimens by batch and test progress.

Introduction and use of Building Information Modeling(BIM) in construction projects have increased steadily over the past few years. However, the level of domestic BIM utilization is still tenuous compared to the international scene. Therefore, this study aims to present the possible directions for BIM research through an analysis of research literatures in Korea as well as in foreign countries. Papers on BIM were collected for this study from Korea and foreign countries for the field of architecture, and analyses and comparisons were performed by year and field. Further, the research patterns were analyzed using WordCloud, which is one of the popular big data techniques. From the analysis, it is found that the design field still constitutes the largest component of research, but the construction field is actively developing as well. In addition, it is realized that domestic BIM research continues to grow on collaboration and environment-friendly methodologies since 2012; it is also demonstrated that foreign BIM research has undergone changes in research trends every year including recently, and is progressing actively. Therefore, this study concludes that it is necessary to actively conduct research in the field of Industry Foundation Class(IFC) in the future. The results of this study can further be used as reference data for conducting BIM studies in Korea in the future.

Network configurations also reduce container processing delays by using commercial LTE services that do not have shading due to containers in the yard also reduce container processing delays. Trough introduction of smart devices using Android or IOS and container processing scheduling utilizing artificial intelligence, we will build a minimum delay system with Smart Device usage of container processing applications and optimization of container processing schedule. The adoption of smart devices and the minimization of container processing delays utilizing artificial intelligence are expected to improve the quality of port services by confirming the processing containers in real time to consumers who are container information demanders.

Introduction: Although several types of calcium-phosphate coumpound have been frequently applied to osseous defects at maxillofacial area for many years, there is a controversy about its efficiency on bone conductivity comprared to xenograft bone substitute. Alloplastic carbonapatite has been introduced to improve disadvantages of hydroxyapatite and to mimic natural bone containing carbon elements. However, a preclinical study about its efficiency of osteoconductivity has not been reported. This study was performed to evaluate the early osteoconductive potential of synthetic carbonapatite with multiple pores relative to anorganic bovine xenograft. Materials and methods: Total 5 beagle dogs were used for maxillary augmentation model. The control (anorganic bovine xenograft) and experimental groups (synthetic carbonapatite) were randomly distributed in the mouth split design. After bone graft, all animals were sacrificed 4 weeks after surgery. Histological specimens with Masson Trichrome staining were made and histomorphometrically analysed with image analyser. The statistical analysis was performed using paired t-test. Results: In both groups, all animals had no complications. The experimental group showed relatively much new bone formation around and along the bone substitutes, whereas it was clearly reduced in the control group. The ratios of new bone area to total area, to material area and to the residual area excluding materials were higher in the experimental group ($0.13{\pm}0.03,\;0.40{\pm}0.13,\;0.20{\pm}0.06$ respectively) than in the control group ($0.01{\pm}0.01,\;0.03{\pm}0.02,\;0.03{\pm}0.03$, respectively). And the differences between both groups were statistically significant (p<0.001, <0.01, <0.01, respectively), while the ratio of material area to total area in two groups was not significant. Conclusion: Carbonapatite showed a high osteoconductivity in the early stage of bone healing compared to bovine derived anorganic bone substitute. This study suggests that this bone materials can be applied as a reliable bone substitute in the clinical treatment.

Introduction of wave model, considered the effect of shoaling, refraction, diffraction, partial reflection, bottom friction, breaking at the coastal waters of complex bathymetry, is a very important factor for most coastal engineering design and disaster prevention problems. As waves move from deeper waters to shallow coastal waters, the fundamental wave parameters will change and the wave energy is redistributed along wave crests due to the depth variation, the presence of islands, coastal protection structures, irregularities of the enclosing shore boundaries, and other geological features. Moreover, waves undergo severe change inside the surf zone where wave breaking occurs and in the regions where reflected waves from coastline and structural boundaries interact with the incident waves. Therefore, the application of mild-slope equation model in this field would help for understanding of wave transformation mechanism where many other models could not deal with up to now. The purpose of this study is to form a extended mild-slope equation wave model and make comparison and analysis on variation of harbor responses in the vicinities of Pohang Old Harbor and Pohang New Port, etc. due to construction of New Port in Youngil Bay. This type of trial might be a milestone for port development in macroscale, where the induced impact analysis in the existing port due to the development could be easily neglected.
The road sign is one of street furnitures functioning to guide directions for drivers. The road sign should be employed and designed to help drivers find their destinations easily and accurately. It is obvious that the road sign is one of the main components that enhance efficiency and safety of driving environments. The current way of guiding strategy at road signs in Korea is a system for mainly guiding 'points' although a new system guiding 'road names' and 'street numbers' with the introduction of new address system is now being introduced on urban areas. When the regional territory management offices and local governments try to employ current road sign systems, they are supposed to follow the sign regulations which contains standard project processes, selection methods of guiding points, character size and design, and location selection for each road sign. However, the current road sign regulations are very complex to understand and unclear for a person in charge to do tasks described above. Especially, selection process and criteria of guiding points are cumbersome and controversial. Furthermore, non sufficient ways of selecting guiding points considering road functions and geographic characteristics decrease the connectivity of guiding points. This study develops enhanced ways of increasing connectivity of successive guiding points through three case studies. Developed ways will help highway agencies and officials understand how to improve the connectivity of road signs.
Road development is considered an important factor in invasion and dispersion of ailen plants by damaging the natural ecosystems and connecting the detached landscapes into long tubular structures. In this study, vegetation survey was carried out according to the topographical characteristics of cut slope, fill slope, and flat land at the construction site in order to understand the effect of road developemt on the change of the floristic composition of ailen plants. Road developement projects caused a lot of changes in annual and biennial alien plants because of continuous disturbances. Changes in species composition of alien plants decreased in the cut slope. On the other hand, the ailen palnts of the fill slope increased. The increase or decrease alien plants on flat land were identified depending on where it occurred, and no major trend was found. The cause of these change was driven by unintentionally introduced alien plants. In particular, the cut slope with a high occurence of unintentional ailen plants should not be used as a source of high-risk alien plants such as ecosystem disturbances. Since the transplanted species were intentionally planted by the landscape plan, it was possible to identify colonies from early stages and spread to the nearby flat land. Therefore, in order to minimize the impact of road slope vegetation on the surrounding ecosystem during and after road construction, it is suggested to plant high viability plants in the landscape design during the environmental impact assessment consultation.

In recent years, public bicycle systems are widely spread over the world according to the development of ICT technology. Since the public bicycle systems in large cities need to secure both publicity and convenience for citizens, analysis of various their issues from introduction to operation is required. In addition, it is also necessary to prepare for various scenarios for coexistence with the PM business, which is recently in the spotlight as a last mile means and normally managed privately. This paper introduces modeling and simulation for efficient operations of public bicycle systems. In particular, the proposed method was developed in a form that can be easily used in other cities by modeling the general structure and behavior of the public bicycle system, and it was developed to facilitate modification and expansion of the future model with a component-based model configuration. This paper provides a case study of the propose method, which is the public bicycle simulation in Sejong City. The simulation results were derived by applying the data from the public bicycle system of Sejong City, and they were verified with the associated real data of Sejong City. Using the verified model, it is expected that it can be used as a tool to design and analyze various services on the public bicycle systems, which were especially suitable for Sejong City.

In low-density areas where travel pattern is widely dispersed and travel demand is relatively low, transit operators find it very difficult to provide a reasonable level of service at a reasonable cost. Timed-transfer system or network, if designed properly, can provide a reasonable level of service for passengers using transit systems serving low-density areas. The paper intends to apply a timed-transfer system for bus lines serving Yangsan City area and to assess the effects resulted from the application. The concept of a timed-transfer network/system is briefly described, and the present conditions of bus systems in Yangsan City area are discussed, focusing on the aspects of network type and the related problems. The bus timed-transfer network for the area is then developed by adjusting the existing routes and network with the consideration of travel time, route alignments, headways and transfer centers. One must note that developing a timed-transfer network presumes that network and schedule should be developed together. The effects of the developed time-transfer system on the passengers and operators are found substantially so as to justify its introduction to the City. The results of this study will be of considerable use for planners to design the transit systems in low density areas, where in general travel activities are widely dispersed and travel demands are low, so that provision of good quality of transit services are difficult.

Low temperature thermal desorption (LTTD) has become one of the cornerstone technologies used for the treatment of contaminated soils and sediments in the United States. LTTD technology was first used in the mid-1980s for soil treatment on sites managed under the Comprehensive Environmental Respones, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) or Superfund. Implementation was facilitated by CERCLA regulations that require only that spplicable regulations shall be met thus avoiding the need for protracted and expensive permit applications for thermal treatment equipment. The initial equipment designs used typically came from technology transfer sources. Asphalt manufacturing plants were converted to direct-fired LTTD systems, and conventional calciners were adapted for use as indirect-fired LTTD systems. Other innovative designs included hot sand recycle technology (initially developed for synfuels production from tar sand and oil shale), recycle sweep gas, travelling belts and batch-charged vacuum chambers, among others. These systems were used to treat soil contaminated with total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and dioxin with varying degrees of success. Ultimately, performance and cost considerations established the suite of systems that are used for LTTD soil treatment applications today. This paper briefly reviews the develpoment of LTTD systems and summarizes the design, performance and cost characteristics of the equipment in use today. Designs reviewed include continuous feed direct-fired and indirect-fired equipment, batch feed systems and in-situ equipment. Performance is compared in terms of before-and-after contaminant levels in the soil and permissible emissions levels in the stack gas vented to the atmosphere. The review of air emissions standards includes a review of regulations in the U.S. and the European Union (EU). Key cost centers for the mobilization and operation of LTTD equipment are identified and compared for the different types of LTTD systems in use today. A work chart is provided for the selection of the optmum LTTD system for site-specific applications. LTTD technology continues to be a cornerstone technology for soil treatment in the U.S. and elsewhere. Examples of leading-edge LTTD technologies developed in the U.S. that are now being delivered locally in global projects are described.
