  • This study is a pilot operation roadmap for the introduction of the co-pilot qualification (MPL) system, and the introduction of the MPL system in Korea is a new pilot education and qualification system based on competency. Therefore, it may be difficult to prepare for various matters such as securing initial regulations, securing training businesses or trainees, and establishing training infrastructure, so the roadmap necessary for pilot operation is very important for the successful introduction of the MPL system. In order to secure a training program and qualification system with proven MPL systems in the domestic aviation market, the government and aviation industry members will jointly participate to highlight the importance of a pilot operation roadmap for the domestic flight environment.

  • Purpose : This study aims to review the physical therapy training programs in the United States, Canada, Taiwan, and Japan, and propose standardization plan for clinical practice in physical therapy education to advance the development of physical therapy education in South Korea. Methods : This study investigates the clinical practice standards in advanced countries such as the United States and Canada, and refers to the clinical practice standards in Taiwan and Japan, which are members of the association of world phyisotherapy and have economic, cultural, educational, and healthcare delivery systems, as well as legal systems, similar to those of South Korea. Results : In the United States, physical therapy education programs allocate an average of 22 weeks and 880 hours for clinical practice. Foreign-trained physical therapists who wish to take the licensure exam in the United States must have their educational programs reviewed and recognized as having completed at least 1,000 hours of clinical practice. In Canada, physical therapy education programs allocate an average of 31 weeks and 1,240 hours for clinical practice. Taiwan allocates over 1,440 hours of clinical practice in its educational programs, while Japan requires 800 hours of clinical practice as a legal prerequisite for the licensure exam. Conclusion : Based on the results of this study, the following standardization plan for clinical practice of the physical therapy education in South Korea are proposed. First, a minimum of 16 weeks and 640 hours of clinical practice is necessary to produce competent physical therapists. Second, university-based basic practical training should be at least 440 hours, with the introduction of a standardized accreditation system and unification of the four-year academic system. Third, the qualifications of physical therapists who supervise clinical practice in medical institutions should be clearly defined in the curriculum, and the standards for clinical practice instructors need to be expanded.

  • The aim of this research is theoretical and methodological approaches to the necessity of formation of innovation clusters as growth poles on the basis of statistical analysis and identification of specialization. In this research, we used methods, which will allow to analyze of innovative processes and to identify of prospective branches of specialization of the formation of innovative clusters in the spatial context. Keeping with the previous literature, the present study is determined by the novelty of the problem, concerning the formation and development of innovative clusters as growth poles, as well as large specifics of problems in our country in the framework of use of innovative clusters. An analysis was showed that Kazakhstan's regions have substantial differences in the groups of regions for most of the indicators have presented form a tightly located clusters and in the ratings of innovative susceptibility and innovative activity. This research has some practical implications, which have proved that innovative clusters become platforms as growth poles for introduction of advanced technologies, development of innovative companies, thereby providing a certain stability of the economy of the regions.

  • This study investigated the effect of introducing advanced science contents into the science curriculum 10th grade on students' interest in science. Four classes of the 10th grade were selected from a co-ed high school located in the city of Seoul. Among them, each two classes were assigned as a control group and treatment group, respectively. Students in each group were divided into three groups according to their previous science achievement. The treatment group was taught with materials consisting of advanced science content that was associated with the 'Reaction Rates', 'Environment' and 'Inquiry of Science' section of the curriculum. Before and after being taught over a six-week period, students' interest in science and science class were measured. The data showed that there was a significant correlation between the instruction and students' previous science achievement in the 'interest in science'(p<.01). There was a significant difference between the two groups in the 'interest in science class' irrespective of their prior science achievement (p<.05). The data showed that the introduction of advanced science content into the science curriculum had considerable effect on increasing students' interest in science and science class. Moreover, many students expected more opportunities to learn advanced science content associated with the science curriculum.
