Influential Factors on the Interactivity in the Interactive Space I ; Focus on the Analysis of Intersubject & Interaction Factors (상호작용 공간의 상호작용성 영향요인 I ; 인터서브젝트(Intersubject)와 인터랙션(Interaction) 요인의 세부유형 분석을 중심으로)

  • Interactive space became one of the major design paradigms. For elevating the interactive effect, we need user-centered design methodology which uses the influential factors on the interactivity. This research is the first one of three linked- studies and categorizes the three main factors on the interactivity-Interface /Intersubject/Interaction. 'Interface' is the field for the interactivity. It will be the main subject for the second study. 'Intersubject' is the performer for the interactivity. Its specific attributes are analyzed in terms of user's needs for interactivity and six subdivisions are analyzed-functional & artistic need /external & subconscious need/info-communication & sympathy need. 'Interaction' is the performance for the interactivity. Its specific attributes are discussed in terms of behavioral interactive process and again sixsub-steps are analyzed-junction/immersion/ mental model/action/transformation/neo-experience.

Affective Representation and Consistency Across Individuals Responses to Affective Videos (정서 영상에 대한 정서표상 및 개인 간 반응 일관성)

  • This study examined the affective representation and response consistency among individuals using affective videos, a naturalistic stimulus inducing emotional experiences most similar to those in daily life. In this study, multidimensional scaling was conducted to investigate whether the various affective representations induced through video stimuli are located in the core affect dimensions. A cross-participant classification analysis was also performed to verify whether the video stimuli are well classified. Additionally, the newly developed intersubject correlation analysis was conducted to assess the consistency of affective representations across participant responses. Multidimensional scaling revealed that the video stimuli are represented well in the valence dimension, partially supporting Russell (1980)'s core affect theory. The classification results showed that affective conditions were successfully classified across participant responses. Moreover, the intersubject correlation analysis showed that the consistency of affective representations to video stimuli differed with respect to the condition. This study suggests that the affective representations and consistency of individual responses to affective videos varied across different affective conditions.

Consistency between Individuals of Affective Responses for Multiple Modalities based on Behavioral and Physiological Data (행동 및 생리측정기반 개인 간 다중 감각정서 반응일치성)

  • In this study, we assessed how participants represent various sensory stimuli experiences through behavioral ratings and physiological measurements. Utilizing intersubject correlation (ISC) analysis, we evaluated whether individuals' affective responses of dominance, arousal, and valence differed when stimuli of three modality conditions (auditory, visual, and haptic) were presented. ISC analyses were used to measure the similarities between one participant's responses and those of the others. To calculate the intersubject correlation, we divided the entire dataset into one subject and all other subject datasets and then correlated the two for all possible stimulus pair combinations. The results revealed that for dominance, ISCs of the visual modality condition were greater than the auditory modality condition, whereas, for arousal, the auditory condition was greater than the visual modality. Last, negative valence conditions had the greater consistency of the participants' reactions than positive conditions in each of the sensory modalities. When comparing modalities, greater ISCs were observed in haptic modality conditions than in visual and auditory modality conditions, regardless of the affective categories. We discussed three core affective representations of multiple modalities and proposed ISC analysis as a tool for examining differences in individuals' affective representations.

Consistency of Responses to Affective Stimuli Across Individuals using Intersubject Representational Similarity Analysis based on Behavioral and Physiological Data (참가자 간 표상 유사성 분석을 이용한 정서 자극 반응 일치성 비교: 행동 및 생리 데이터를 기반으로)

  • This study used intersubject representational similarity analysis (IS-RSA) to identify participant-response consistency patterns in previously published data. Additionally, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was utilized to detect any variations in the conditions of each experiment. In each experiment, a combination of ASMR stimulation, visual and auditory stimuli, and time-series emotional video stimulation was employed, and emotional ratings and physiological measurements were collected in accordance with the respective experimental conditions. Every pair of participants' measurements for each stimulus in each experiment was correlated using Pearson correlation coefficient as part of the IS-RSA. The results of study revealed a consistent response pattern among participants exposed to ASMR, visual, and auditory stimuli, in contrast to those exposed to time-series emotional video stimulation. Notably, the ASMR experiment demonstrated a high level of response consistency among participants in positive conditions. Furthermore, both auditory and visual experiments exhibited remarkable consistency in participants' responses, especially when subjected to high arousal levels and visual stimulation. The findings of this study confirm that IS-RSA serves as a valuable tool for summarizing and presenting multidimensional data information. Within the scope of this study, IS-RSA emerged as a reliable method for analyzing multidimensional data, effectively capturing and presenting comprehensive information pertaining to the participants.

Relative Bioavailability Studies on Two Tablet Preparations of Ofloxacin

  • Comparative bioavailability of two tablet dosage forms of ofloxacin (either as Hoechst (India) or Ranbaxy preparation ) was investigated. In a randomized cross-over study, eitht healthy human volunteers received single 200 mg dose of film coated ofloxacin in fasting state. The concentration of ofloxacin in the collected saliva and serum samples were measured by high performance liquid chromatography. No significant difference in bioavailability of both preparations was judged from various serum and seliva pharmacokinetic parameters such as peak concentration, time to peak concentration and are under the curves. Intersubject variation was also found to be insignificant.

Small Intestinal Transit Does Not Adequately Represent Postoperative Paralytic Ileus in Rats

  • Small intestinal transit (SIT) has often been regarded as an index of pathophysiological state of postoperative ileus (PI) in rats. The reliability of SIT as an index of PI was examined in the present study. PI was induced via abdominal surgery (i.e., laparotomy with evisceration and manipulation) in rats. For one group of PI-induced rats, SIT of a charcoal test meal was measured. When necessary, the physical state (i.e., severity and site of distension) of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract in each rat was visually examined. For another group of PI-induced rats, abdominal X-ray radiographs were obtained after introducing the barium sulfate suspension. The abdomen was then opened and the physical state of the GI tract was visually examined. The SIT was decreased in most of the PI-induced rats, and the GI distension was observed, with substantial intersubject variations, in all of the PI-induced rats. However, no linear relationship was evident between the SIT and the severity of GI distension (e.g., at 20 h after PI induction). Instead, the severity and site of GI distension could be monitored by the X-ray radiology. Therefore, the use of SIT as an index of PI should be substantially limited.

  • While ranitidine is well known to be absorbed rapidly, the underlying cause of variable bioavailability in intra- and inter-subjects has not been clarified yet. Intestinal permeability is a key controlling factor for oral absorption of highly soluble drugs, In the present study, intestinal ferfusions have been conducted to determine the intestinal permeabilities(Peffs) of ranitidine in the rats, dogs and humans and compared to the estimated fractions of dose absorbed (FAs) in humans. A new in vivo methodology, using a regional segmental perfusion technique, has been used in the dogs and humans. In situ single-pass perfusion experiments have been performed in the rats. In the dog and human studies, perfusion experiments have been conducted on two periods to determine the intrasubject variability, There was low significant intrasubject variation as compared to intersubject variation. The Peffs of ranitidine were 33%, 51%, and 45% inthe rats, dogs and humans, respectively. The FAs were approximately the same for all three species models, suggesting rats and dogs are good animal models for estimating the oral absorption of ranitidine in humans. In addition, the estimated extent of absorption of this drug is consistent with the average bioavailability, indicating that ranitidine has permeability-limited absorption characteristics.   • Starting with 21st Century, the role of the design has been widened and designers began to regard the psychological and behavioral factors as main design considerations. These factors are the core elements especially in designing interactive space. This research proposed the user-centered design methodology for interactive space. It developed Programming Process for Supporting Interactive Behaviors. To compose the process, this research analyzed the influential factors on the interactivity and the results were applied on the process. This newly proposed Programming Process contains four basic stages which are 'Opportunity Identification Cell', 'Intersubject Cell', 'Interaction & Interface Cell', and 'Programming Solution Cell'. More detailed tasks are also specified for each stage. This research asserts that the design process for Interactive space should differ from the past design processes in the fact that it puts much more attention on systemizing the psychological and behavioral elements than before. Therefore the design process for Interactive space should be reinforced with the data related to these psychological and behavioral understandings. The Programming Process of this paper is an attempt to enlarge the roles of these data in designing interactive space, and thus it is an attempt to accommodate the contemporary user-centered design paradigm.

Oral Bioavailability of Levosulpiride in Korean Healthy Male Volunteers (건강한 한국인 성인 남성에서 레보설피리드 제제의 생체이용률)

  • Pharmacokinetics and oral bioavailability of levosulpiride was determined in Korean healthy male volunteers. Thirty subjects received a single oral dose (25 mg) of a tablet in a randomized $2{\times}2$ cross-over design. The plasma concentrations of levosulpiride were measured by HPLC and compared with those reported in the literature. Pharmacokinetic parameters for $Isomeric^{\circledR}$ tablet (levosulpiride 25 mg) were revealed as follows: $AUC_{inf}\;737.1{\pm}176.9\;ng{\cdot}hr/ml,\;C_{max}\;56.4{\pm}20.1\;ng/ml,\;T_{max}\;4.2{\pm}1.6\;hr,\;K_a\;1.00{\pm}1.09\;hr^{-1},\;K_{el}\;0.08{\pm}0.02\;hr^{-1},\;and\;t_{1/2}\;8.8{\pm}1.9\;hr$. The rate constant of the absorption phase was obtained based on the first-order kinetics. In the aspect of bioavailability, $Isomeric^{\circledR}$ tablet was bioequivalent to the other product $(Levopride^{\circledR}\;tablet)$ available in the Korea market. Intersubject variations and race differences were show in comparison with the published data in the literature, even though there was a linear relationship between dose ad extent of bioavailability.

  • Plasma and saliva concentrations of acetaminophen (AAP) were determined at various time points by HPLC after oral administration of AAP tablets (AAP 500 mg) to four healthy male Korean subjects. Saliva concentrations (S) of AAP were significantly correlated with plasma AAP concentrations (P). The S/P ratio of AAP was calculated to be 1.05 (r =0.944, $p<10^{-6}$) for all the data points from the subjects. It showed a little intersubject variation and ranged from 0.89 to 1.46 in each subject. Bioavailability parameters such as AUC, $C_{max}$ and $T_{max}$ which are usually obtained from the plasma concentration data will be predictable approximately by saliva concentration data. Saliva seems to be very convinient and useful samples for the preliminary studies of bioavailability and bioequivalence of AAP preparations, since it can be collected frequently without any painful venipuncture to the subjects, that is inevitable in plasma sampling. Evaluation of the bioavailability of a preparation by saliva samples will reduce the cost, time and safety risk greatly in developing a new drug delivery system for AAP.
