  • For system state estimation, existing LMS type esimators widely used. For example Kalman filter is one of them. In this paper, a state estimator is derived for the H$_{\infty}$ norm of the estimation error spectrum matrix to be minimized. For the solution of this problem classical NP interpolation problem is used. Also, by deriving the duality between the filter problem and the well-known H$_{\infty}$ control problem, another solution is obtained. The computer simuation results show that H$_{\infty}$ estimator has less estimation error and so this is better than the existing Kalman filter estimator.or.

  • This paper analyzes the problems that occurred in the magnification process for a fine input image and investigates a method to improve the problems. This paper applies a curve interpolation algorithm in CAD/CAM for the same test images with the existing image algorithm in order to improve the problems. As a result. the nearest neighbor interpolation. which is the most frequently applied algorithm for the existing image interpolation algorithm. shows that the identification of a magnified image is not possible. Therefore. this study examines an interpolation of gray-level data by applying a low-pass spatial filter and verifies that a bilinear interpolation presents a lack of property that accentuates the boundary of the image where the image is largely changed. The periodic B-spline interpolation algorithm used for curve interpolation in CAD/CAM can remove the blurring but shows a problem of obscuration, and the Ferguson's curve interpolation algorithm shows a more sharpened image than that of the periodic B-spline algorithm. For the future study, hereafter. this study will develop an interpolation algorithm that has an excel lent improvement for the boundary of the image and continuous and flexible property by using the NURBS. • In this paper, we propose an image reconstruction method utilizing an optimized adaptive interpolation kernel along with a 2D M-channel perfect reconstruction filter bank (M-ch PR-FB) structure. In particular, the proposed approach leads to construction of a sharper image than a direct conversion, still preserving high frequency components of the original image through the subband processing of the 2D M-ch PR-FB. Finally, the image quality of the proposed approach is demonstrated by comparing with those of the direct methods using conventional interpolation kernels.

  • Interpolation filters are widely used in symbol timing recovery systems to interpolate new sample values at arbitrary points between the existing discrete-time samples. Polynomial interpolation is interpolated by coefficient made inputted information. This paper presents an efficient way to implement polynomial base interpolation filters using support filter changing input. By an example, it is shown that the proposed structure out performs the conventional interpolation structure with less hardware cost.

  • This paper proposes an efficient hardware architecture for high efficiency video coding (HEVC), which is the next generation video compression standard. It adopts several new coding techniques to reduce the bit rate by about 50% compared with the previous one. Unlike the previous H.264/AVC 6-tap interpolation filter, in HEVC, a one-dimensional seven-tap and eight-tap filter is adopted for luma interpolation, but it also increases the complexity and gate area in hardware implementation. In this paper, we propose a parallel architecture to boost the interpolation performance, achieving a luma $4{\times}4$ block interpolation in 2-4 cycles. The proposed architecture contains shared operations reducing the gate count increased due to the parallel architecture. This makes the area efficiency better than the previous design, in the best case, with the performance improved by about 75.15%. It is synthesized with the MagnaChip $0.18{\mu}m$ library and can reach the maximum frequency of 200 MHz.

  • The H.264/AVC standard obtained better performance than previous compression standards, but it also increased the computational complexity of CODEC simultaneously. Various techniques recently included at the KTA software developed by VCEG also were increasing its complexity. Especially adaptive interpolation filter has more complexity than two times due to development for coding efficiency. In this paper, we propose low-complexity filter bank to improve speed up of decoding and coding gain. We consists of filter bank of a fixed-simple filter for low-complexity and adaptive interpolation filter for high coding efficiency. Then we compensated using optimal filter at each macroblock-level or frame-level. Experimental results shows a similar coding efficiency compared to existing adaptive interpolation filter and decoding speed of approximately 12% of the entire decoder gained.

  • In this paper, low-power design and implementation techniques for IMT-2000 interpolation filter are proposed. Processor technique for DA(Distributed Arithmetic) filter and minimization technique for number of addition in CSD(Canonic Signed Digit) filter are utilized for low-power implementation. proposed filter structure consists of 3 blocks. In the first CSD coefficient block, every possible 4 bit CSD coefficients are calculated and stored. In second processor block, multiplication is done by MUX and addition processor in terms of filter coefficient. Finally, in third shift register block, multiplied values are output and stored in shift register. For IMT-2000 interpolation filter, proposed and conventional structures are implemented by using Verilog-HDL coding. Gate counts for the proposed structure is reduced to 31.57% comparison with those of the conventional one.

  • When interpolating chrominance signal, the H.264/AVC standard uses linear interpolation. In this paper, we suggest more effective method that uses a high precision filter, 6-tap FIR filter, 2-tap linear filter for chroma interpolation. The experimental result shows that the proposed method achieves the BD-Rate decrease without the PSNR decrease compared with Jm11.0kta2.7. The maximum BD-rate improvements on Y component are 1.3%, those of Cb and Cr components are 19.8%, 25.0%, respectively. The average BD-rate improvements on Y component are 0.5%, those of Cb and Cr components are 6.1%, 6.9%, respectively.

  • In many imaging devices, a single image sensor is used, which is covered by a color filter array to filter out the specific color components from light. Since an image acquired from this image sensors have a color components at each pixel, it is needed to be reconstructed to a perfect image. In this paper, a new color interpolation method for the imaging devices having a single image sensor is proposed. The proposed method improves a edge sensing function to obtain satisfactory results in edges of an image, md presents a new inter-channel correlation for improving interpolation performance in smooth region. We have compared our method with several exiting methods, and our experimental results have proved better interpolation performance in comparing with the other results.
