The effect of preceptorship on clinical education of nursing students (간호학생의 임상실습 교육을 위한 임상지도자 활용 모델 적용 효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study examined effect of preceptorship on clinical education of 39 senior nursing students. Competency scores and satisfaction with preceptors scores were investigated. Competency scores of the students before the clinical education (pre-competency scores) were compared with the competency scores after the clinical education (post-competency scores), and satisfactory scores were also examined after the clinical education. Study results showed that the total post-competency scores were increased compared to the total pre-competency scores, and this increment was statistically significant. However, analyzing sub-domains of the competency scores indicated only the nursing-skill domain scores were increased while the scores of interpersonal domain and management domain were increased but statistically insignificant. Satisfaction with preceptors scores were also more than the average scores reflecting the students were satisfied with their preceptors generally. The students, However, grade low in the preceptors' intellectual ability while their professional and interpersonal ability were rather satisfied. This study indicated preceptors should make more efforts to teach interpersonal and management skill and increase their intellectual ability. This study recommended a systematic reward system for the preceptors to increase the motivation to teach students is needed.

A Study of Hairstyle Behavior and Hairstyle Image Preference Related to Life Satisfaction of Women (여성의 생활만족도와 헤어스타일행동 및 헤어스타일 이미지 선호의 관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between the hairstyle behavior, hairstyle image preference and life satisfaction of women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, and to examine the differences of the hairstyle behavior, hairstyle image preference, and preferred hairstyle according to demographic variables. The research method was a survey method using a questionnaire. Total of 674 women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s were tested, 309 of whom residing in the Seoul metropolitan area, with the remaining 365 residing in Gangweon-Do. Life satisfaction factors such as socio-economic satisfaction, happiness, and physical satisfaction significantly influenced the women's hairstyle behavior. The women with higher level of physical satisfaction had higher level of conformity, individuality, fashion, and interpersonal orientation of hairstyle. It also showed that the higher the level of socio-economic satisfaction meant greater preference for graceful hairstyle images. As well as the level of happiness correlated with the preference for feminine and sophisticated hairstyle images. The women who preferred long layered wave hairstyles liked feminine, natural, and sophisticated hairstyle images. The women in their late 40s had higher interpersonal orientation of hairstyle than those in their early 20s and 30s. Overall, a natural hairstyle image was favored the most, whereas a unique image was favored the least.

An Empirical Study on the Adjustment Effect of Switching Barriers on Customer Retention in Mobile Telecommunication Services (이동통신서비스에서 전환장벽이 고객유지에 미치는 조절효과에 관한 실증연구)

  • This paper aims to investigate the adjustment effect of switching barriers on customer retention in mobile telecommunication services. The detailed factors regarding switching barriers are classified based on the related literatures. Furthermore, the hierarchical regression analysis is used to analyze the extent to which the factors affect customer retention. The main contribution of this paper is to focus on switching barriers and theirs relationships with customer retention rather than customer satisfaction on early studies. The results are as follows: First, among the factors of switching barriers, switching costs, such as continuity cost and contractual cost, interpersonal relationship, and attractiveness of alternatives are key factors in determining customer retention. Second, continuity cost and interpersonal relationship have an adjustment effect between customer satisfaction and customer retention. The findings can help the mobile operators establish a customer-oriented strategy by identifying a few key factors strengthening the linkage with customers.

Relations between College Life Stress and Life Satisfaction among Nursing Students That Had Non-Contact Online Courses (비대면 온라인 강의를 경험한 간호대학생의 대학생활스트레스와 삶의 만족과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing college life stress and life satisfaction of nursing students. The subjects included nursing students from some select areas. The research was conducted in November and December 2020. The data of a total of 227 nursing students were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlations, and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The findings show that college life stress, economic conditions, and interpersonal relationships had significant effects on life satisfaction of the nursing students with an explanatory power of 27.1%. The study examined life satisfaction based on general characteristics and found variations according to college life satisfaction (F=5.88, p=.003), grades (F=7.07, p=.001), interpersonal relationships (F=8.80, p=.000), and economic conditions (F=10.53, p=.000). There was a statistically significant negative correlation between their college life stress and life satisfaction (r=-.436, p<.001). To summarize, these findings raise a need to provide nursing students with a strategy to address economic issues by reducing their academic stress through an improved educational environment, help them keep positive interpersonal relationships through effective communication, and offer them active information such as counseling so that they can achieve life satisfaction.

The Influences of Learners' Self-efficacy on Class Satisfaction in Learning Practical Basic Sewing (기초봉제 학습자의 자기효능감이 수업만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influences of learners' self-efficacy on class satisfaction in learning practical basic sewing. Questionnaires were distributed to 181 college women students living in the areas of Deagu Metropolitan City and Gyeongbuk Province. The data obtained were analyzed by using various statistical tools: frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression. The self efficacy of learners of practical basic sewing were made up of five factors: ability to manage interpersonal relationships, ability to deal with assigned tasks, anxiety, challenging spirit, and fear. Class satisfaction was composed of the following factors such as interest in class, professors' ability, achievement of class objectives, connectivity, preparation for class, preference for practices, and perfectibility. This study indicated the correlations between sub-variables of learners' self efficacy and class satisfaction. In other words, the higher were the levels of ability to manage interpersonal relationships, and ability to deal with assigned tasks in self efficacy, the higher were the levels of interest in class, professors' ability, achievement of class objectives, preference for practices, and perfectibility in class satisfaction. The factors of ability to deal with assigned tasks, anxiety, and challenging spirit, in learners' self efficacy were found to have statistically significant effects on the achievement of class objectives. The factor of ability to deal with assigned tasks in self efficacy had a statistically significant influence on professors' ability. The factors of ability to deal with assigned tasks, anxiety, challenging spirit and fear were found to have statistically significant effects on all the factors of class satisfaction.

A Study of the Effects of Motivation-Hygiene Factors on nurse's Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment, and Organizational Identification (동기-위생요인이 간호사의 직무만족, 조직몰입 및 조직동일시에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of motivation and hygiene factors on nurse's job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and organizational identification. Methods: The subject hospital was 4 tertiary general hospital located in Seoul and Incheon, Korea. The participants of this study were 521 nurses working in the subject hospitals. The data were collected by self-reporting questionnaires from April 1 to June 30, 2004. The data were analyzed using SAS 8.0 program for descriptive statistics and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The mean score of variables were as follows. The motivation factor's total was 3.22, hygiene factor's total was 2.98, job satisfaction was 2.94. organizational commitment was 2.94, and organizational identification was 3.62. The statistically significant predicting factors of job satisfaction were achievement, work itself and salary. In organizational commitment, the significant predicting factors were achievement, advancement, work itself, policy and administration, working conditions, and interpersonal relations. In organizational identification, the significant predicting factors were work itself, responsibility, interpersonal relations, and personal life. Conclusion: With these results, it was identified that the predicting factors of nurse's job satisfaction based on Herzberg's two-factor theory. The most statistically significant factors were salary on job satisfaction, policy and administration on organizational commitment and work itself on organizational identification. So these results will be used to develop the more effective strategy of nursing staff management. And also these will be contributed to developing the nurse's motivation enhancement plans.

The Effect of Ego-resilience and Job Stress of Disabled Residential Institutions Rehabilitation Teacher on Job Satisfaction (장애인 거주시설 생활재활교사의 자아탄력성과 직무스트레스가 직무만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of ego-resilience and job stress on job satisfaction of the rehabilitation teachers of residential facility for the disabilities. For this purpose, 193 questionnaires were collected and used for final analysis. Statistical techniques such as descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used in the SPSS 23.0 statistical program. The results of the analysis are as follows; First, Levels of perception of ego-resilience and job satisfaction were higher than medium level, and job stress was lower than medium level. Second, Job satisfaction of the subjects were higher as the interpersonal relationship, were lower as the stress of personal role and daily work, relationship with facility and supervisor, and client relationship. These results suggest that ego-resilience and job stress are closely related to job satisfaction and that it is effective to increase ego-resilience and reduce job stress as a way to increase job satisfaction of rehabilitation teachers. Since rehabilitation teachers provide human services, they need support from peer counseling, education, and programs because their emotional exhaustion appears in interpersonal relations.

Changes in Clinical Practice Satisfaction of Healthcare Students Before and After COVID-19 (COVID-19 전·후의 보건계열 학생들의 임상 실습 만족도의 변화)

  • PURPOSE: This study sought to investigate the change in the satisfaction levels of healthcare students regarding clinical practice before and after the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) outbreak. METHODS: This was a longitudinal survey using a structured questionnaire. The first survey was conducted before the COVID-19 outbreak in April 2018, and the second survey was conducted after the outbreak from May to June 2022. The questionnaire used before and after COVID-19 had the same content and was categorized into the following six factors to determine clinical practice satisfaction: practice guidance, practice environment, practice time, practice evaluation, interpersonal relationships, and effectiveness of practice. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 153 healthcare students (average age: 22.43 ± 1.47 years old), participated from 4 departments: nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene. After COVID-19, 84 students (average age: 22.75 ± 2.87 years old), from the physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and dental hygiene departments participated in the survey. RESULTS: Clinical practice satisfaction was evaluated considering the factors of practical guidance, practice environment, practice time, interpersonal relationships, and practical effects. It was observed that the satisfaction with clinical practice increased in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene students after COVID-19 compared to the situation before the outbreak. There was no difference seen in the practice time and practice evaluation factors in the occupational therapy department and in the practice time factor in the dental hygiene department before and after COVID. CONCLUSION: In clinical practice under the extremely constrained circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems that the emotional internal response is greater, and the satisfaction with clinical practice appears to be relatively higher than before the outbreak.

  • The purposes of this study was to investigate how interpersonal relationship stress had the impact on job attitude and turnover intention. To perform this study, total 420 questionnaire were distributed to regular hotel employees from October 16th to November 26th in 2017. Unworkable data were excluded, and final 344 usable responses were obtained for an empirical analysis. Frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis were measured by using SPSS 18.0, respectively. For the study structure, interpersonal relationship stress primarily concentrated on the boss/staff/colleague/customer stress. Job attitude was divided into organization commitment and job satisfaction. Transfer intention was a single factor. The results of this study were shown as follows: Hypothesis 1, boss/customer stress have a negative effect on organization commitment and boss/colleague/customer stress have a negative effect on job satisfaction. Hypothesis 2, boss/customer stress have a positive effect on transfer intention. Hypothesis 3, tissue commitment have a negative effect on transfer intention. This results of this study have shown that stress management of employee is a source of management result in hotel business. This study have given to the hotel's human resource management and internal marketing for the practical implication and academical use.

  • This study was conducted to survey 178 current students at Seoul National University and to conduct a survey to prepare data for servant leadership based on the spirit of SMEs. The results of the study are as follows. First, the relationship between servant leadership and interpersonal relationship of university students in SMEs human resources appears to be a static relationship. This means that the higher the servant leadership of university students preparing for SME human resources, the higher the interpersonal relationship. Second, the consensus formation of university students had a positive effect on satisfaction, and the vision presentation had a statistically significant effect on understanding. In addition, stress relief showed a statistically significant effect on openness, and morality had a statistically significant effect on communication and openness. In addition, insight has a statistically significant effect on satisfaction and understanding.
