  • Many personalized services that provide users with adaptive information according to users' preferences have been researched and developed. Push services are especially expected to be more economic impact because push services satisfy user's potential needs even if the user does not require anything. In this paper, we propose Semantic Web approach in order to enhance the performance of push services. Our approach provides infrastructure to recommend contents based on semantic association by enabling information of contents and user preferences to be described on service-specific ontologies that reflect features of each service. In addition, our approach can recommend users with adaptive information based on information represented in our description model. Our approach enables information of contents and user preferences to be described with rich expressiveness, and it provides semantic interoperability.

  • With the proliferation of RDF knowledge graphs(KGs), there arose a need of a standardized schema representation of the graph model for effective data interchangeability and interoperability. The need resulted in the development of SHACL specification to describe and validate RDF graph's structure by W3C. Relational databases(RDBs) are one of major sources for acquiring structured knowledge. The standard for automatic generation of RDF KGs from RDBs is R2RML, which is also developed by W3C. Since R2RML is designed to generate only RDF data graphs from RDBs, additional manual tasks are required to create the schemas for the graphs. In this paper we propose an approach to automatically generate SHACL schemas for RDF KGs populated by R2RML mappings. The key of our approach is that the SHACL shemas are built only from R2RML documents. We describe an implementation of our appraoch. Then, we show the validity of our approach with R2RML test cases designed by W3C.

  • With the progress of portable appliances such as cell phone and handhold PC, the popularization of Personal Area Network (PAN) and the diversification of services that are based on Personal Mobile Gateway (PMG) . To use home services at any time regardless of their Position, it needs a virtual home network that a home network and outside networks are finally integrated. Although interoperability among home appliances reached their service stage, research for services and middleware for new small scale network such as PAN is at an early stage. Traditional home network service/connection methods, terminal control schemes, and middlewares must be extended to accommodate PMG-based PAM. In this paper, we propose an integrated virtual home network Platform that guarantees seamless connections between home network and PAM. We also analyze indispensable functions and presents functions that should be added existent home gateway or home sewer by function.

  • E-learning objects should be appropriately described and classified using standard metadata for facilitating the processes of e-learning resource description, discovery and reuse. These metadata need to be published in a registry to reduce duplication of effort and enhance semantic interoperability. This paper describes how standard ebXML registries can be used for annotating, storing, discovering and retrieving e-learning object metadata. For semantic annotation of e-learning objects, IEEE LOM is adopted as the metadata ontology. In order to support the e-learning metadata ontology in interoperable ebXML registries, a mapping scheme between LOM and ebXML information model is proposed. The usefulness of standard ebXML registries for sharing e-learning metadata is demonstrated by prototyping an e-learning registry called ebRR4LOM based on the scheme.

  • With the rapid progress of wireless technologies today, mobile terminals with multiple access interfaces are emerging. In recent years, WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks) has become the premier choice for many homes and enterprises. WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) has also emerged as the wireless standard that aims to deliver data over long distances. Therefore, it is important to explore efficient integration methods for delivering multimedia data between heterogeneous wireless networks. In this paper, we developed the simulation models and environments for the mobile multihomed node that has both WiMAX and WLAN interfaces and can move around in both networks by using mobile IP. In order to verify the developed models, we designed and constructed several simulation scenarios, e.g. movement in WiMAX/WLAN, group mobility, MANET, and nested MIP under the various traffic environments such as oneway or bothway UDP packets, FTP traffic, and voice with SIP protocol. The simulation results show that the developed models are useful for mobility studies in various integrated wireless networks.

  • This paper suggests design and implementation of moving objects management system using GML which is the XML encoding standard of geographic data. The proposed system integrates spatial data and moving objects data, utilizing the concept of Web Feature Services. While integrating data, standard data model and interfaces, proposed by OGC, are used. Since GML is standard for storing and transferring spatial/non-spatial data, interoperability and extendibility can be obtained. In addition, we propose efficient developing environment for the moving object management system by providing components having Web/Mobile interface. If the proposed component be development methods are used, it is easy to add or modifyservices in the mobile system and pla

  • The usage of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in building projects has enabled improvement in project planning, implementation and collaboration process amongst various stakeholders within architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. However, variations exist in the current practices of BIM implementation and coordination process in the industry. These variations result in inconsistent degree of BIM use across the construction industry. This inconsistency gives rise to several managerial and technological challenges such as data interoperability issues and purposeful integration and exchange of information within the BIM components. In order to tackle the issue, it is essential to analyse the different BIM approaches employed by the industry practitioners. BIM guidelines serve as a critical link between the BIM model, and its subsequent execution. They therefore provide the best reflection of BIM application and processes. This research paper aims to address the variations existing in BIM practices across the construction industry. It includes an extensive study of 21 existing, publicly available BIM-based guidelines in order to establish an understanding of the present state of practice and deduce issues and concerns related to them. All guidelines analysed in this paper are first categorised based on authorship and the release date for efficient comparison. The points of similarity and difference between them are thereby realized and outlined. In addition, the transition of project implementation process from traditional methods to BIM technology is also explained. The existence of inconsistencies in the BIM guidelines reviewed in this paper reflects the need of a BIM 'Code Compliance Check'. The Code Compliance Check will serve as a regulatory project guideline that will further improve the potential of BIM by incorporating a consistent BIM modelling methodology for the entire construction industry.

  • The OpenGIS Consortium has proposed a new web-mapping technology to support interoperability in web GIS environment by developing the specifications of MapServer and GML. In this environment, the MapServer transforms legacy spatial data into GML data, and clients display them on standard web browsers. This web-mapping testbed proposes methods for discovering, accessing, integrating and displaying GIS information except processing of spatial operations which are essential services in GIS environment. This paper proposes the method for executing spatial operations on GML data which are overlays of different map layers in legacy data servers. To support spatial operations on GML data in web GIS environment, this paper designs and implements GDOM based on the W3C's DOM Specifications and OGC's Simple Features Specifications. This paper shows the specifications and implementation of GDOM and the process of spatial operations in web-mapping testbed environment.

  • The US DoD architecture framework defines architecture Products according to three viewpoints : operational view, system view, and technical view. But, its coarse-grained development process causes leakage of the details In transforming among different views. It also uses different methods for architecture products development, so that the levels of those products are not consistent. So. we propose MND AF(Ministry of National Defense Architecture Framework) for military environment to solve those problems. We propose additional architecture products to achieve consistency, including “architecture disciplines definition description,”“organization-to-activity relationships matrix,” “system definition description,” and “technical reference model,” etc. We also propose the architecture development process in more detail through seven steps. In addition, we propose the applicability of those products to the life cycle processes of the acquisition management. MND AF can provide consistency and traceability of architecture products, provide the basis for sl·stem integration and interoperability. Also, architecture developers can construct architecture in a more effective and efficient way through MND AF.
