  • The role of the Internet of Things in the Fourth Industrial Revolution is in the era of collecting data at the end and analyzing big data through technology to analyze the future or behavior. Therefore, due to the nature of the IoT, it is vulnerable to security and requires a lightweight security protocol. The spread of things Internet technology is changing our lives a lot. IT companies all over the world are already focusing on products and services based on things Internet, and they are going to the era of all things internet that can communicate not only with electronic devices but also with common objects. People, people, people and objects, things and things interact without limitation of time and space, collecting, analyzing and applying information. Life becomes more and more smart, but on the other hand, the possibility of leakage of personal information becomes greater. Therefore, this study proposed security threats that threaten the protection of personal information and countermeasures, and suggested countermeasures for building a secure IoT environment suitable for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

  • The Internet of Things technology is regarded as the next major technology that will be the driving force behind the fourth industrial revolution. The characteristics of entities for Internet of Things application are changing more actively and actively, requiring a more detailed approach, but existing access control technologies are designed around users, requiring access control techniques that maintain efficiency and security with less system load to apply complex and variable content. Therefore, research on role-based access controls that are appropriate for Internet of Things entities is essential. In this study, the relevant research for the study of access control of the Internet of Things entities and the RBAC and AC methods that can define the properties of the various entities within the Internet of Things.

  • This paper presents a study on the Internet of Things based low-power wireless sensor networks for remote monitoring of wildlife ecosystem due to climate change. Especially, it is targeting the wild vegetation communities ecological monitoring. First, we performed a pre-test and analysis for selecting the appropriate frequency for the sensor network to collect and deliver information reliably in harsh propagation environment of the forest area, and selected for sensors for monitoring wild vegetation communities on the basis of considerations for selecting the best sensor. In addition, we have presented the platform concept and hierarchical function structures for effectively monitoring, analyzing and predicting of ecosystem changes, to apply the Internet of Things in the ecological monitoring area. Based on this, this paper presents the system architecture and design of the Internet of Things based low-power wireless sensor networks for monitoring the ecosystem of the wild vegetation communities. Finally, we constructed and operated the test-bed applied to real wild trees, using the developed prototype based on the design.

  • This paper is about IoT(Internet of Things)-based smart trash can. In modern society, waste disposal creates several social problems. In particular, large floating populations cause a problem in the city center on weekends as the waste disposal capacity cannot keep up with the amount of waste discharged. There are problems such as stinks, unpleasant aesthetics, and insects caused by overflowing garbage. To solve this problem, a smart trash can was proposed. The proposed smart trash can provide a garbage compression function, an automatic opening and closing of the trash can lid, a display of the amount of garbage, and monitoring and control of the trash can. It is expected that the proposed 'smart trash can' can be usefully used for outdoor waste disposal with a large floating population.

  • Although Internet of Things already became a new paradigm on service on network, we should pay more effort for studying about its testing method, since humans, things and environments in IoT are connected to each other without any restrictions. Earlier researches based on emulators showed that such virtual devices on emulators had unavoidable gap between them and real things. Furthermore, growth of connection complexity between the devices and loosing of restrictions make the gap wider. Accordingly, in this paper, we suppose a method of test coverage measurement based on BitTorrent for IoT environment. It has cooperation features among homogeneous devices with avoiding the overlapping on each part of whole test process.

  • The internet of things (IoT) using cloud computing is applied to nuclear industry in which the nuclear power plant (NPP) accident is analyzed for the safety assessment. The Fukushima NPP accident is modeled for the accident simulations where the earthquake induced plant failure accident is used for analyzing the cloud computing technology. The fast and reasonable treatment in the natural disaster was needed in the case of the Fukushima. The real time safety assessment (RTSA) and the Monte-Carlo real time assessment (MCRTA) are constructed. This cloud computing could give the practicable method to prepare for the future similar accident.

  • Some blind spots of information were occurring because important information such as school events, employment information, attendance information, and major school schedules were currently communicated through home communication messages only. To address this problem, an e-Board prototype was designed to incorporate P2P-based Internet of Things technology in a wired and wireless network based on a survey of data on smart education based on the Internet of Things. In each classroom, necessary information, such as school events, was received in real time from the classroom and shared in the classroom. They also want to design an e-Board prototype for Internet of Things-based smart education because they are easily accessible to anyone even if they do not know how to use e-Board.

  • This study aims to examine research trends on the Internet of Things and smart city based on papers from the United States, Japan, and Korea. We collected 7113 papers related to the Internet of Things and smart city published from 2016 to 2021 in Elsevier's Scopus. Keyword frequency and centrality analysis were performed based on the abstracts of the collected papers. We found keywords with high frequency of appearance by calculating keyword frequency and identified central research keywords through the centrality analysis by country. As a result of the analysis, research on security, machine learning, and edge computing related to the Internet of Things and smart city were the most central and highly mediating research conducted in each country. As an implication, studies related to deep learning, cybersecurity, and edge computing in Korea have lower degree centrality and betweenness centrality compared to the United States and Japan. To solve the problem it is necessary to combine these studies with various fields. The future research direction is to analyze research trends on the Internet of Things and smart city in various regions such as Europe and China.

  • The Internet of things is a system that connects and communicates all sorts of things such as people, objects, and data. It's to create and share information by its own each other. It can be used to enhance the function of private security and has brought about innovative development of private security. The Internet of things is a system that allows devices connected to the Internet to communicate independently of people-objects, objects-objects connected to the Internet. That and can be used in many industries, especially in the private security sector, its value is high. The use of the Internet of things to private security sector can reinforce security zones with always-on surveillance systems, also be enhanced by its own preparedness and response to the situation. However, this study will discusse the application and development of private security in the Internet of things. The practical application of the virtual space is an immediate task and it is also an essential factor in securing security.
