Internet-Based Control and Monitoring System Using LonWorks Fieldbus for HVAC Application

  • The 4-20mA analog signal used in the various industrial fields to interface sensor in distributed process control has been replaced with relatively simple digital networks, called "fieldbus, and recently by Ethernet. Significant advances in Internet and computer technology have made it possible to develop an Internet based control, monitoring, and operation scheduling system for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems. The seamless integration of data networks with control networks allows access to any control point from anywhere. Field compatible field devices become so-called "smart" devices, capable of executing simple control, diagnostic and maintenance functions and providing bidirectional serial communication to higher level controller. The most important HVAC of BAS has received nationwide attention because of higher portion of more than 40% in building sector energy use and limited resources. This paper presents the Internet-based monitoring and control architecture and development of LonWorks control modules for AHU (air handling units) of HVAC in viewpoint of configuring BAS network. This article addresses issues in architecture section, electronics, embedded processors and software, and internet technologies.

  • This Paper deals with the economical equipment control which is used by internet network system at the industrial workplace. If the control devices can be accessed by internet, we can have the developed possibility of work conditions. in this paper, we presented the advanced digital timer which has a communication function to control and observe panel to realize control solution based on internet to be easily applicable at workplace with low cost, and we used RS-485 serial communication module to have parallel expansibility and safety. And, this system was experimented and designed for easy system management and status check from remote station through internet. As the result for experiment, the circuit configuration would be more simplified than the existing, and it is expected that multi connection control and monitoring can be simply implemented with low cost equipment at industrial workplace.

  • In this paper we have designed a monitoring and controlling system, which rainwater harvests. Atmega 128 microprocessor family is used for the monitoring and controlling of the system. Through the Internet, the rainwater bank system can be monitored and controlled by using JAVA program. Monitoring and controlling of the system are also possible without Internet connection.

  • This paper is study on internet based remote control and monitoring for the system to purify water. environment of the water quality grew worse. therefore we require the effective system to purify water now national internet based remote control and monitoring make a sensation and are a problem to be solved. This paper demonstrate internet based remote control and monitoring for the system to purify water. This system including on server and many client distributed in whole country. The server is collecting information from the client. this information is then written inside Database. The Database is dealing with Website and Server and Client.

  • It is an essential process to predict behaviors of ground and structure to seek economical efficiency and stability on the given environment. Predictions are conducted through analysis process of ground and structure. For these analyses, exact and quick acquisition of measuring data is required. But we face many difficulties in data acquisition stages due to the conditions of construction site. Therefore development of a powerful and effective monitoring system that can manage the integration of database and the implementation of measuring process in real time is strongly desired. This article shows an actual example of application of internet based monitoring system compared with the conventional monitoring system.

  • This research presents new type of remote monitoring and control solution of PLC that can be used bi-directional and efficient management of factory automation through internet. This system has client/server architect for information handling between PLC and remote computer where a user can control and monitor target PLC. Actually the authors redirect RS232C connection between PLC and server computer into Internet connection between PLC and remote client computer using supplied PLC tool program So user feel like in front of PLC panel when he operates remote PLC through Internet. Each client/server program is constructed with Java language for security. In this paper the internet-based remote control system was proposed and proved validity by being applied to redirection of PLC control for factory automation.

  • The development of data communication and network technology has brought a change to various communications through the internet. Regarding the stable internet service, corporations and Individuals came to require an internet data center in which there is computer equipment and network devices available 24 hours everyday. The internet data center is now on a large scale in its structure and facility, suitable for the internet environment that is under development in various dimensions, and effective for task support, stable facility, capable of space expansion and flexibility, and easiness in ease of maintenance and management, etc. The monitoring center of the data center which is one of the core facilities in the center, special space elements and functions as well as a function of task space are to be put into consideration additionally. This study was to present a proposal for the space elements and environmental design of a monitoring center, which could create an efficient and comfortable room.

  • This paper introduces an approach to the realization of an ICT-based bridge remote monitoring system that enables real-time monitoring and controlled adjustments for unexpected heavy loads and also for damaging earthquakes or typhoons. In this paper, an integrated bridge remote monitoring system called the "Intelligent Bridge", which consists of a stand-alone monitoring system (SMS) and a web-based Internet monitoring system(IMS), was developed for not only bridge maintenance but also as an application for a para-stressing bridge system. To verify the possibility of controlling the actual structural performance of an "Intelligent Bridge", a model 2-span continuous cable-stayed bridge with adjustable cables was constructed. The experimental results demonstrate that the implemented monitoring system supplies detailed and accurate information about bridge behaviour for further evaluation and diagnosis, and it also opens up prospects for future application of a web-based remote system to actually adjust in-service bridges under field conditions.

인터넷을 통한 원격환자 모니터링 (Remote Patient Monitoring through the Internet)

  • In this paper, we present an intensive patient monitoring service through the Internet, which enables medical doctors to watch their patients in a remote site, to monitor their vital signs and to give them some advices for first-aid treatment. The service consists of three service objects: Monitoring Information Service(MIS), Vital Sign Monitoring Service(VSMS) and Multimedia Consulting (MCS). Through the MIS, medical doctors can get information about the patients currently under monitoring, including their names, ages, genders, symptoms, current main complaints and current locations. The VSMS enables medical doctors to monitor in real-time patients' vital signs such as electrocardiogram (ECG), respiration, temperature, blood oxygen saturation (SpO$_{2}$), invasive blood pressure (IBP), and non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP). It also generates alarms when the patients are likely to be in a critical situation. The MCS provides a real-time multimedia desktop conferencing facility for watching patients and instructing attendants to administer some first-aid treatment. We carried out some experiments according to two different scenarios. The intensive patient monitoring service was functioning well in a 100Base-T Ethernet LAN environment.

A Tablet PC-based Monitoring System for Oceanic Applications

  • Mobile computers can process large amounts of data at high speeds, and it is feasible and easy to implement a remote monitoring system utilizing mobile computers. Because of their portability and convenience, these computers have been employed in various research areas to develop such monitoring systems. Existing monitoring system is a bit difficult to real time monitoring the scattered offshore facilities. So this paper compensate the existing system by using mobile computers such as a tablet PC-based monitoring system. Also, the scattered offshore facilities can be monitored in real-time through the tablet PC. The developed monitoring system is a fully Internet-based monitoring platform that enables one to monitor and control remote oceanic applications at any time and any place where it is possible to access the Internet. It can be applied to many oceanic applications as well as the unmanned systems and remote monitoring systems on land.
