VLC4WoT : Visible Light Communication for Web of Things

  • Recently, new devices have been developed for the Internet of Things concept. The devices commonly use RF (Radio Frequency) based wireless communication. With the increase in the number of devices, the space allocated for the radio frequency band in wireless communication fills rapidly. Visible Light Communication (VLC) is an alternative, secure and economical communication technology that uses light instead of radio frequencies. While Web of Things (WoT) is the adaptation of the experience and knowledge acquired from the web into the internet of things ecosystems. By combining these two technologies, the development of the Visible Light Communication for Web of Things (VLC4WoT) system, which can use VLC and WoT technologies, has been our motivation. In our study, microcontroller control circuit was created for VLC4WoT system. Control of the circuits over the internet was performed. VLC based receiver and transmitter units have been developed for wireless communication. Web based interface was created for control. The test apparatus consisting of four objects with four outputs and a transfer unit was carried out. In this test, communication was achieved successfully. It was presented in the study that VLC can be used in the web of things architecture. In the future, it is envisaged to use this system as a safe and economical system in indoor environments.

표준 사물인터넷 플랫폼을 활용한 음성 제어 시스템 (Voice-based Control System Using Standard-based IoT Platforms)

  • 본 논문에서는 표준 기반 사물인터넷 (IoT: Internet of Things) 플랫폼을 활용한 음성 제어 시스템을 구현하고 그 성능을 검증한다. 사물인터넷 산업 표준인 원엠투엠 (oneM2M) 오픈 소스 플랫폼을 활용하여 음성으로 댁내 기기를 제어할 수 있는 프로토타입 시스템을 구현하였다. 음성 기반 제어를 위해 구글의 Speech-to-Text API를 활용하고 오픈 소스 하드웨어에 원엠투엠 플랫폼을 탑재하여 어디서든지 서버 플랫폼에 연결된 댁내 가전기기들을 제어할 수 있음을 보였다. 본 논문에서 구현한 시스템을 통해 표준화된 오픈 소스 플랫폼과 클라우드 음성 인식 API를 활용하여 확장성과 연결성을 갖춘 커넥티드 홈을 구현할 수 있음을 알 수 있다.

저속 네트워크 기반의 가전기기를 위한 원격 제어 시스템 (A Remote Control System for Home Appliance using Low Speed Network)

  • 홈 네트워크 기술과 인터넷 제어 기술이 가정에서 널리 사용되기 위해서는 세 가지 고려 사항을 충족해야 한다. 먼저 홈 네트워크 기술을 기존의 가전기기에 적용함으로써 발생하는 비용의 증가를 최소화할 수 있어야 하고, 인터넷에서 홈 네트워크로 접근이 가능하게 하기 위해 가정의 다양한 인터넷 사용 환경을 고려하여야 하며, 끝으로 가전기기 제어를 위해 홈 네트워크에 적용되는 제어 프로토콜과 인터넷 제어를 위해 사용되는 프로토콜 사이에 서로 호환이 되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이 세 가지 사항을 고려한 ARCS(Appliance Remote Control System)를 설계하고 구현한다. ARCS는 기존 가전기기에 최소비용으로 통신 기능과 원격 제어 요청을 처리할 수 있는 홈 네트워크 프로토콜인 LnCP(Living network Control Protocol)를 기반으로 상용화된 가전기기론 대상으로 인터넷을 통해 원격 제어 서비스를 제공한다. ARCS는 홈 게이트웨이가 인터넷상의 홈 서버에게 통신 세션을 요청함으로써 인터넷에서 홈 네트워크로의 접근이 가능하게 하는 방식을 사용하고 있으며, 인터넷 응용 프로그램을 이용하여 집 안의 가전기기를 원격 제어할 수 있는 가상 제어 인터페이스를 제공한다. 구현을 위해 홈 게이트웨이와 인터넷 홈 서버간의 통신 세션 관리와 인터넷을 통한 가전기기 제어 통신을 위한 프로토콜이 요구되는데, 본 논문에서는 LnCP와 쉽게 호환 가능한 제어 메시지들을 정의한 AICS(Appliance Internet Control Specification)라는 새로운 프로토콜을 설계하여 ARCS와 홈 게이트웨이에 적용하였다.

Design and Development of a Monitoring System based on Smart Device for Service Robot Applications

  • Smart device has become an affordable main computing resource for robotic ap-plications in accordance with a fast growth of mobile internet environment. Since the computing power of smart device has been increased, smart device based ro-bot system attempts to replace traditional robot applications with laptop-based system. Methodologies for acquisition of remote sensory information and control of various types of robots using smart device have been proposed recently. In this paper, we propose a robot control system using a monitoring program and a communication protocol. The proposed system is a combination of an educa-tional programming oriented robot named EPOR-S. as small service robot plat-form and a smart device. Through a simulation study using image processing, the feasibility of combination of the proposed robot monitoring program and control system was verified.

  • This paper is study on internet based wireless remote control and monitoring for the system to purify water. Environment of the water quality grew worse. Therefore we require the effective system to purify water. Now national internet based wireless remote control and monitoring make a sensation and are a problem to be solved. This paper demonstrate internet based wireless remote control and monitoring for the system to purify water. This system including on server and many client distributed in whole country. The server is collecting information from the client. This information is then written inside database. The database is dealing with website and server and client.

  • Middleware enables different networking devices and protocols to inter-operate in ubiquitous home network environments. The UPnP(Universal Plug and Play) middleware, which runs on a PC and is based on the IPv4 protocol, has attracted much interest in the field of home network research since it has versatility The UPnP, however, cannot be easily accessed via the public Internet since the UPnP devices that provide services and the Control Points that control the devices are configured with non-routable local private or Auto IP networks. The critical question is how to access UPnP network via the public Internet. The purpose of this paper is to deal with the non-routability problem in local private and Auto IP networks by improving the conventional Control Point used in UPnP middleware-based home networks. For this purpose, this paper proposes an improved Control Point for accessing and controlling the home network from remote sites via the public Internet, by adding a web server to the conventional Control Point. The improved Control Point is implemented in an embedded GNU/Linux system running on an ARM9 platform. Also this paper implements the security of the home network system based on the UPnP (Universal Plug and Play), adding VPN (Virtual Private Network) router that uses the IPsec to the home network system which is consisted of the ARM9 and the Embedded Linux.

Utilizing Block chain in the Internet of Things for an Effective Security Sharing Scheme

  • Organizations and other institutions have recently started using cloud service providers to store and share information in light of the Internet of Things (IoT). The major issues with this storage are preventing unauthorized access and data theft from outside parties. The Block chain based Security Sharing scheme with Data Access Control (BSSDAC) was implemented to improve access control and secure data transaction operations. The goal of this research is to strengthen Data Access Control (DAC) and security in IoT applications. To improve the security of personal data, cypher text-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) can be developed. The Aquila Optimization Algorithm (AOA) generates keys in the CP-ABE. DAC based on a block chain can be created to maintain the owner's security. The block chain based CP-ABE was developed to maintain secures data storage to sharing. With block chain technology, the data owner is enhancing data security and access management. Finally, a block chain-based solution can be used to secure data and restrict who has access to it. Performance of the suggested method is evaluated after it has been implemented in MATLAB. To compare the proposed method with current practices, Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) are both used.

지능형 로봇의 제어를 위한 인터넷 기반 가상 실험실 구축 (Establishment of the Internet-based Virtual Laboratory for Intelligent Robot Control)

  • 현재, 인터넷의 보급이 보편화되고 있다. 그래서 인터넷을 이용할 수 있는 기술과 장비가 개발되고 발전되어 가고 있다. 이러한 시대적 흐름을 공학 연구에서도 잘 이용할 수 있다. 언제 어디서나 인터넷을 쉽게 이용할 수 있다는 장점을 이용하여 수시로 지능형 로봇에 대한 실험과 그 결과를 얻을 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라 다른 실험장비에 대해서도 위와 같은 실험과 결과를 얻을 수 있다 지능형 로봇은 제어 컴퓨터가 탑재 가능하여 랜 선의 제약을 받지 않는다. 다만 무선 인터넷이 가능한 공간에서만 실험 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 지능형 로봇에 탑재한 제어 컴퓨터(클라이언트)와 일반 컴퓨터(서버)구조를 가지며 다중 제어 인터페이스를 구현한다.
