An Empirical Analysis of Smart Signage and Its Market Delimitation

  • This study demonstrates that ease of use, usefulness, and hedonic desires affect the intention to use smart signage, based on market delimitations. Smart signage is at an early phase of adoption and its market can be divided broadly into indoor and outdoor markets. In this study, an empirical study model was established in conjunction with the technology acceptance model (TAM), which was applied to the IT area of a smart signage map and to a hedonic model. Empirical results showed that the key hedonic attributes affecting the intention to use smart signage include information delivery for the indoor environment and emotional and entertainment content for the outdoor environment. In the future, specific guidelines can be presented to boost the usage of smart signage through an empirical study based on the identification of external factors that affect usage intention.

XML 기반 인터넷 입찰시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of an Internet Bidding System Based on XML)

  • The problem of the previous proprietary e-business systems is that they are not built upon well defined standards, which causes difficulties in extension of the system and interoperation among them. Therefore, a new e-business standard, ebXML, and related XML standards such as SOAP and XML Signature have been recommended for e-business systems. In this paper, as an application of the new XML standards, we design and implement a new internet bidding system. We use XML Schema for defining the document structure of the bidding system. DOM is used for structure search and XSL is used to represent styles. We use SOAP to handle distributed objects and XML Signature to provide data integrity. Due to the adoption of e-business standards, the developed system has advantages in interoperability and extensibility compared to previous systems.

  • The progress of information technology triggered the rapid progress of tourism industry and the industry has now grown to be the biggest and the highest value added producing industry. Tourism industry is characterized by its high information dependency and is subject to the frequent changes of schedule. Therefore, dynamic cooperations between the service provider and the service agent is essential. One of the latest trend in information technology is the popular adoption of XML as the standard means of document exchange in the internet environment. This paper proposes a supply chain management system which enhances the productivity and customer satisfaction in the tourism industry by exploiting the exchange of information in XML among the tourism society, which consists of the producer, the agents, and the consumer. This Paper is especially addressed to the applicability of e-SCM for the productivity enhancement in the tourism industry, which is known as the leading service industry in the internet environment.

Corporate Social Responsibility Impact on Business Performance through Green Supply Chain Management: Evidence from Guatemala

  • The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between corporate social responsibility (CSR), green supply chain management (GSCM) practices, and business performances. After reviewing the extensive literature, we developed a research model including five constructs: CSR, GSCM practices, environmental, economic and operational performances. We conducted the statistical analyses based on the primary data collected from a survey questionnaire, responded by 93 different company managers in the Republic of Guatemala. Furthermore, we utilized structural equation modeling to analyze the data and to test the hypotheses. The results of the analyses showed that there is a significant influence of CSR on the adoption of GSCM practices. It was also found that GSCM practices have a significant influence on environmental, economic and operational performances. In addition, environmental performance has a significant impact on economic and operational performance. Finally, GSCM has a mediating role on the relationship between CSR and environmental and economic performance, but not with operational performance.

Unusual Suspect of Societal Innovativeness in Online Social Innovation Community: A Network and Communication Framework

  • The widespread adoption of the social computing paradigm has ushered in the development of online social innovation community (OSIC) as a promising method for solving social problems. Previous studies have not explicitly considered the conceptual factors that facilitate these communities' users' innovative activities, so it is vital to conduct empirical studies to verify the effectiveness of these factors. In this paper, the primary goals are to construct a theoretical model of the social innovation and empirically verify the casual relationship between theoretical factors and societal innovativeness. A survey of 398 OSIC users was conducted to empirically validate the theoretical model. The causal relationships between network characteristics and social innovativeness were experimentally tested. The results of this study indicated that ambiguity, switching, and multiplexity are important factors that facilitate social innovativeness, which contradicts the prior assumptions about innovation performance.

The Investigation of Employing Supervised Machine Learning Models to Predict Type 2 Diabetes Among Adults

  • Currently, diabetes is the most common chronic disease in the world, affecting 23.7% of the population in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Diabetes may be the cause of lower-limb amputations, kidney failure and blindness among adults. Therefore, diagnosing the disease in its early stages is essential in order to save human lives. With the revolution in technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) could play a central role in the early prediction of diabetes by employing Machine Learning (ML) technology. In this paper, we developed a diagnosis system using machine learning models for the detection of type 2 diabetes among adults, through the adoption of two different diabetes datasets: one for training and the other for the testing, to analyze and enhance the prediction accuracy. This work offers an enhanced classification accuracy as a result of employing several pre-processing methods before applying the ML models. According to the obtained results, the implemented Random Forest (RF) classifier offers the best classification accuracy with a classification score of 98.95%.

Discovering AI-enabled convergences based on BERT and topic network

  • Various aspects of artificial intelligence (AI) have become of significant interest to academia and industry in recent times. To satisfy these academic and industrial interests, it is necessary to comprehensively investigate trends in AI-related changes of diverse areas. In this study, we identified and predicted emerging convergences with the help of AI-associated research abstracts collected from the SCOPUS database. The bidirectional encoder representations obtained via the transformers-based topic discovery technique were subsequently deployed to identify emerging topics related to AI. The topics discovered concern edge computing, biomedical algorithms, predictive defect maintenance, medical applications, fake news detection with block chain, explainable AI and COVID-19 applications. Their convergences were further analyzed based on the shortest path between topics to predict emerging convergences. Our findings indicated emerging AI convergences towards healthcare, manufacturing, legal applications, and marketing. These findings are expected to have policy implications for facilitating the convergences in diverse industries. Potentially, this study could contribute to the exploitation and adoption of AI-enabled convergences from a practical perspective.

  • This study aims to analyze the correlation between semiconductor innovation and market dominance in the mobility electric vehicle industry. To this end, the study presentsstrategiesthat provide low-price competitiveness along with high-value creation in the electric vehicle and semiconductor markets. The first change in the era of high interest rates is to overcome the crisis of survival for value. Furthermore, the study acknowledges the ongoing second wave of change as the digital technology's value continues to rise, and companies experience decreased productivity due to rising ESG labor costs. The study analyzed price competitiveness in the context of the increased adoption of electric vehicles and the integration of semiconductor prices, proving that Tesla and Samsung Semiconductor have developed technology to dominate the market, with appropriate low-cost strategies applied as the value of innovation declines.

전자정부 서비스 사용자 만족도 영향요인에 관한 연구 - 세금관련 서비스 이용자 사례를 중심으로 (A Study on the Factors Affecting e-Government Users' Satisfaction - The Case of Online Tax Filing and Payment Services)

  • 전자정부 서비스 중에서도 홈택스와 같은 세금업무 서비스는 상대적으로 많은 시민들이 인지하고 있다. 본 사례연구는 기술수용모형을 이론적 기반으로 설정하고 만족, 유용성, 용이성, 구전효과, 주관적 규범, 신뢰, 상호작용, 촉진조건 등의 요인들이 전자정부 서비스 활용의도에 미치는 직 간접적 영향력 정도를 알아보는 데 목적이 있다. 279개 설문자료를 이용하여 연구가설을 검증한 결과, 유용성과 용이성은 만족도에 긍정적 영향을 미치는데, 특히 용이성이 유용성보다 영향력이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 서비스 만족도와 구전효과도 활용의도의 선행요인으로 유의한 것으로 분석되었는데, 구전효과보다는 만족도가 활용의도에 더 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 유용성의 선행요인 중에서는 용이성, 주관적 규범, 신뢰의 순으로 모두 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 용이성의 선행요인도 촉진조건, 상호작용의 순으로 모두 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 그 외 본 연구결과의 학술적, 정책적 시사점도 함께 제시하였다.

IPTV-VOD 서비스 선택의 결정요인 분석 (Determinants of IPTV-VOD Services Adoption)

  • 본 연구는 IPTV-VOD 서비스의 선택에 영향을 주는 요인들을 밝히고, 기존 다채널 유료TV와 IPTV-VOD 서비스 간에 대체 혹은 보완 관계가 있는지의 여부를 분석하였다. 연구결과, VOD 형식으로 제공되는 IPTV-VOD 서비스는 기존의 유료방송서비스와 콘텐츠에 있어서 큰 차별성을 보이고 있지 않으나, IPTV-VOD 서비스의 이용자들은 IPTV-VOD 서비스가 가지고 있는 양방향 서비스 특성들 - 능동적으로 선택할 수 있고, 시청시 중단, 되돌리기, 다시보기 등 - 을 이용하여 이용시간을 스스로 선택하여 기존 유료방송과는 다른 양방향적 특성들을 즐기면서 시청하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이미 케이블/위성 서비스에 가입한 이용자와 가입하지 않은 이용자 간에 IPTV를 선택할 확률이 실시간 지상파방송 등 다른 요인들이 통제된 상태에서 차이가 나타났기 때문에 두 서비스가 어느 정도의 대체성을 가지고 있음을 예측할 수 있다.
