  • Increased attention has worldwide been given to exporting SMEs pursuing the rapid internationalization from their inception. In spite of the limited resources, exporting SMEs have entered in global markets successfully and then improve their internationalization performance. Nevertheless, there is little empirical research regarding internationalization in exporting SMEs, Using a survey of 317 exporting SMEs, this study designated organizational, entrepreneurial, environmental, and technological characteristics as determinants of internationalization performance as well as investigates empirically the relationships among the determinants of internationalization performance, export Support programs of the government, and internationalization performance. According to the results of the study, firstly, R&D capacity, globalization-orientation, international market environment, and technological characteristics (e.g. technological capacity and imitation) have significant effects on international performances. Finally, it is found that export support programs moderated the relationships between market information management, R&D capacity, management capacity, international market information, and technological capacity, and internationalization performance. Above results indicate that if exporting SMEs would not use export support programs effectively, they could not improve internationalization performance. As well, several implications for researchers and practitioners, limitation of this study and future direction were suggested.

Design/methodology - This study verified factors influencing FTA utilization by dividing them into company's external and internal factors and performing investigation on the relationship between FTA utilization and export performance. Empirical analysis was performed by setting internal and external factors required for FTA utilization as variables. To achieve this, research model was established based on previous study, hypothesis was deduced, and statistical program were used to test the hypothesis. This study performed empirical analysis using statistical program of SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 for the research model. Findings - Empirical analysis was performed regarding the effect of the FTA utilization on export performance and previous study defined export performance as the company's increased economy benefits through export and increase in new transactions. Analysis was also performed for factors affecting the FTA utilization by the company and through management and response of external factors and internal factors it was confirmed that the FTA utilization by the company led to increase in the company's export performance as a result. This study proposes a method to achieve export performance based on this. Originality/value - Companies seeking to utilize the FTA sign the Contract for the International Sale of goods and there are many conditions to meet in order to receive trade preferences during the transaction process. Existing trade order and order in the FTA have to be followed. Country of origin can be seen as key in the FTA. The Rule of Origin becomes the most important evaluation standard in applying preferential tariff in the FTA. Such regulations can be seen as external factors which cannot be controlled by the company. Internal factors are capabilities owned before that can be controlled by the company. The study sought to test the variables regarding factors centered on such capability. This study verified factors influencing FTA utilization by dividing them into company's external and internal factors and performing investigation on the relationship between FTA utilization and export performance.

  • The main purpose of this study is to analyze the relationships between the R&D characteristics and R&D performance for Korean enterprises. We divided R&D performance into technological and business launching performance and analyzed four R&D characteristics' effect on the performance. The empirical analysis results can be summarized as follows: First, R&D characteristics of enterprises show a strong relationship with R&D performance in the case of R&D process control. Second, firm capability and information routine positively affect to technological performance at 0.1 significant level but not showing significance in the case of business launching performance. Third, managerial support negatively affects to technological performance but dose not show statistical significance. Its effect on business launching performance, however, shows positive and significant effect. This result is expected to be highly suggestive for establishing the effective R&D strategies of enterprises and also the relevant overseas marketing plan to support R&D planning.

  • This study examines the determinants of trade show performance of export-oriented small and medium enterprises(SMEs). In this regard, the trade show performance is categorized into two dimensions, such as sales objective performance vs. non-sales objective performance Based on the analysis of 116 exporters participated in trade show held in DaeGu EXCO, it is found that the roles of the show organizers play more important roles in both the sales objective performance and the non-sales objective performance than the roles of the exhibitors do. It is also interesting to find that export experience has a negative influence on both the sales objective performance and the non-sales objective performance. These results suggest that trade show organizers should provide high service quality so as to enhance the trade show performance of exhibitors.

  • This study concerns the identification of INPR process (i.e., antecedents, timeliness in new product development (NPD) and international new product rollout (INPR) and consequences) for international new product performance. It was empirically tested by a Korean sample to verify the validity of the research framework. The results show that cross-functional integration exhibited a statistically significant and positive effect on NPD timeliness. For the rapid development of new products, evidence is mounting in favor of cross-functional integration that facilitates both the quick dissemination and utilization of information. A higher level of marketing synergy was positively associated with a higher level of NPD timeliness. These findings suggest that marketing synergy plays a key role in enhancing NPD timeliness in South Korean manufacturing companies. The results also indicate that HQ-subsidiary cooperation was positively related to INPR timeliness. More comprehensive and varied information flows between HQ and subsidiary are likely to achieve product competitive advantage and then the latter may lead to international new product launch timeliness. However, technology synergy has no significant influence on NPD timeliness, implying that Korean manufacturers' managers do not recognize technology to be a major driving force, unlike Western manufacturers' managers. The findings also indicate that the positive effects of timeliness in INPR on international new product performance. It is important note that successful achievements of international new product success are likely to rely on INPR timeliness. Importantly, the results found that products developed within planned time frames are more likely to be rolled out into multi-markets on-time, resulting in higher levels of performance than when NPD completion is delayed.

  • The AIS(Automatic Identification System) has to be developed SOTDMA(Self-Organized Time Division Multiple Access) Algorithm which is important on wireless communication method because It is based on ITU(International Telecommunication Union) M.1371-1 of the international standard therefore, we need to develop a performance evaluation simulator efficiently to develop and analyze SOTDMA Algorithm. This paper shows the method of designing it. The SOTDMA Algorithm driving state verifies the performance evaluation simulator by IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission) 61993-2. After verifying results the performance evaluation simulator is correctly satisfied with IEC 61993-2. So we expect that it helps not only the AIS technology developed but also verify new SOTDMA Algorithm.

Therefore, this study aims to empirically analyze the factors influencing management performance for early-stage international startups in Korea. To do that, this study empirically analyzes the nine firm capabilities' (global mind, export infra, manpower internationality, funding, communicating, marketing, cooperating, competitiveness and reflecting) influence on the two business performances (fulfillment satisfaction and export). This study used SPSS of frequency, factor, reliability, correlation, and stepwise regression analysis with the GCL test data approved by the DSZ of Kdata. As results show, competitiveness, cooperating, and reflating capability positively influence fulfillment satisfaction. And manpower internationality and cooperating capability positively affect export. Based on this study result, implications for management and academic contribution and future study are suggested.
