Cognitive Factors in Adaptive Information Access

  • The main purpose of this study is to understand how cognitive factors influence the way people interact with information/information systems, by conducting comprehensive and in-depth literature reviews and a theoretical synthesis of related research. Adaptive systems have been built around an individual user's characteristics, such as interests, preferences, knowledge and goals. Individual differences in the ability to use new information and communication technology have been an important issue in all fields. Performance differences in utilizing new information and communication technology are sufficiently predictable that we can begin to coordinate them. Therefore, it is necessary to understand cognitive mechanisms to explain differences between individuals as well as the levels of performance. The theoretical synthesis from this study can be applied to design intelligent (i.e., human friendly) systems in our everyday lives. Further research should explore optimization design for user, by integrating user's individual traits (such as emotion and intent) and system modules to improve the interactions of human-system in data-driven environments.

  • The application of e-Voting plays an important role in order to support democracy activities in Indonesia, such as elections at different levels. E-Voting has the function of providing better service to people in order to participate in elections. This research attempts to develop the appearance of the user interface of e-Voting based on users' emotional preferences using Kansei Engineering. Kansei Engineering is used in this research to analyze emotional feelings regarding e-Voting applications' presented Kansei words and give a recommendation on the most suitable user interface to be considered in their development. This research observed two main users' emotional feelings ("calm" and "formal") selected from ten Kansei words. The final recommendation is a conceptual element designed for designing e-Voting applications based on the Kansei word "calm".

  • As the perception of sports activities changes positively, the desire and popularity for sports activities are rapidly increasing. Therefore, the popularity of sporting events is also increasing. Previous studies on sporting events have focused only on research in the field of social sciences. Therefore, in this study, in order to increase customer satisfaction and customer loyalty of sports event visitors, they were classified into challenge factors, competition factors, achievement factors, and relationship factors, and their effects on satisfaction and loyalty were studied and analyzed. And based on the research design model and empirical analysis, a user-based sports event matching system was proposed.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of health club users' perception of service quality on user satisfaction and loyalty. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of health club users' perception of service quality on user satisfaction and loyalty. In order to achieve this research purpose. In 2020, participants in health clubs over 20 years old residing in Gwangju Metropolitan City and Jeollanam-do were selected as the population and a total of 300 subjects (273 males and 127 females) were selected using a convenient sampling method. The data collected using this was statistically processed according to the purpose of analysis using SPSS 20.0 version. The results obtained through this research process are as follows. First, it was found that the health club users' perception of service quality had a partial effect on user satisfaction. Second, it was found that the service quality perception of health club users partially affected the loyalty. Third, it was found that health club users' satisfaction with use partially affected their loyalty.

  • Mobile devices have recently developed to be an integral part of humans' daily lives because they meet business and personal needs. It is challenging to design a feasible and effective user authentication method for mobile devices because security issues and data privacy threats have significantly increased. Biometric approaches are more effective than traditional authentication methods. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze the existing biometric user authentication methods on mobile platforms, particularly those that use face recognition, to demonstrate the methods' feasibility and challenges. Next, this paper evaluates the methods according to seven characteristics: universality, uniqueness, permanence, collectability, performance, acceptability, and circumvention. Last, this paper suggests that solely using the method of biometric authentication is not enough to identify whether users are authentic based on biometric traits.

Examination of Required Functions in the PBNM Scheme for Multiple Domains as Cyber Physical System that Utilizes Data Science and AI

  • In the current Internet system, there are many problems using anonymity of the network communication such as personal information leaks and crimes using the Internet system. This is why TCP/IP protocol used in Internet system does not have the user identification information on the communication data, and it is difficult to supervise the user performing the above acts immediately. As a study for solving the above problem, there is the study of Policy Based Network Management (PBNM). This is the scheme for managing a whole Local Area Network (LAN) through communication control for every user. In this PBNM, two types of schemes exist. As one scheme, we have studied theoretically about the Destination Addressing Control System (DACS) Scheme with affinity with existing internet. By applying this DACS Scheme to Internet system management, we will realize the policy-based Internet system management. In this paper, required functions in the PBNM Scheme for multiple domains as cyber physical system that utilizes data science and AI is examined.

국내 모바일 애플리케이션 소셜 데이팅 서비스에 대한 사용자 경험 연구 -이음과 정오의 데이트를 중심으로- (Evaluation for User Experience about Social Dating Mobile Application Service in Korea -Focusing on I-um and Noondate-)

  • 본 연구는 국내 대표 소셜 데이팅 애플리케이션인 이음과 정오의 데이트를 사용자 관점에서 비교 분석하고, 사용자 만족도 향상을 위한 개선 방향을 제안하는데, 그 목적이 있다. 1차로 문헌 연구를 통해 현재 제공되고 있는 서비스의 유형 분석과 이론적 배경을 고찰하고, 서비스 현황에 대해 비교 분석하였다. 2차로 피터 모빌(Peter Morville)의 허니콤 모델(Honey comb model)을 6가지 사용성 원칙으로 재구성하여 설문을 설계한 뒤 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 그 결과, 이음의 경우 사용자의 관심사나 취미에 기초한 프로필을 추가로 도입하여 매칭의 정확도 개선이 필요하였다. 정오의 데이트 경우 사용자 스스로가 체계적으로 관리 할 수 있는 카드 분류 서비스 개발의 필요성이 발견되었다. 본 연구를 바탕으로 앞으로 소셜 데이팅 애플리케이션 사용자 경험 개선 방안을 위한 참고 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것을 기대하며, 이후 진행될 다른 분야의 사용자 경험 연구에도 도움이 되기를 바란다.
