  • The economic globalization has contributed the easy interchangeability of goods and services worldwide and consequently this tendency gives a great impetus to the expansion of exhibition Nowadays there is no dispute that the exhibition industry contains Export Marketing, Sales, Market Research and New product launching. 전시회 서비스에 대한 주최자의 중요도와 참관객의 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Exhibition Services Organizer's Perception and Participant's Satisfaction)

  • This research is to 1) examine the perception of an exhibition organizer in holding an exhibition and its time, and 2) find out participants' satisfaction in the exhibition services according to time and purposes of visiting. The questionnaire was distributed to employees who work for exhibition companies, and exhibition visitors that have participated in any kind of international exhibitions which were held in COEX from 27, March to 2, May, 2003. The results of this study are as follows; First convenience facilities nearby, promotion, parking facilities strongly affected participants' overall satisfaction. Secondly, the purposes and time of visiting showed significant factors on the participants' satisfaction in the exhibition services. In turn, buying merchandise and obtaining useful information significantly affected convenience facilities nearby. Also, simple visiting purposes affected the cost of staying and service related to tourism. Finally, the number of workers, time and occupation of exhibitions are showed as important factors for the perception of an exhibition provider in the exhibition services.

A construction of the exhibition evaluation support system based on GUI by visitors behavior analysis

  • The present thesis is on a construction of the system which supports exhibition evaluation of curators, which automatically collects, keeps, and totalizes objective data on visitor behavior in museums, and which comprehensively displays the results by tables and graphs. The system is composed by access points and mobile exhibition exposition devices in the museum operating together. Obtainable visitor information include a user number, an average staying period, contents use hour, and exhibition viewing frequency. Prototype experiment at museums shows that the system is effective in efficient data collection and exhibition evaluation and is expected to become an information collecting tool for visitor research and an exhibition evaluation tool for exhibition improvement.

  • As development of exhibition, it has been an important issue to analyze exhibition for the next success of exhibition. A lot of existing researches have focused on the exhibitor's and visitor's satisfaction problem. However, the exhibitor's satisfaction and success of exhibition come from the analysis of exhibition in the network level. Booths composing exhibition are regarded as nodes in network, so the trace of visitors visiting booths can construct the arc of networks. The purpose of this study is to analyze the booth visiting pattern and components of network through social network analysis using data collected in the $17^{th}$ International KIDS & EDU EXPO for Children. This research is the first approach of network-leveled analysis of exhibition, and the result of network analysis is helpful to support the booth arrangement in next exhibition. Our analysis results the following implications. First, Booths with high degree centrality or betweenness centrality should be deployed in the wide space or corner of the exhibition hall. Finally, booths within a block should be deployed in the same space of the exhibition hall to provide convenience to the visitors and to enhance exhibition performance.

  • The present research has created and evaluated contents capable of work appreciation visitors changing their viewpoints on their will by introducing mobile exhibition exposition devices (iPad) for large exhibition museum. Various exposition contents of usually invisible parts or those provided in accordance with user positions drew visitors' attentions and improved museum experience satisfaction. Utilization of digitalized exhibition information generated activeness in viewing and new communication between exhibition and a visitor instead of the conventional exhibition exposition.

  • The purposes of this study are to propose exhibition planning and management skills of trade fair organizers and to provide suggestions on the direction of government policies related to fair items. This study analyzes exhibitor objectives of exhibition participation and exhibition choice attributes using revised importance-performance analysis. This research uses visitor level, organizer services and market attraction of hosting country, as explanatory variables affecting companies' trade show choices. It also utilizes sales and non-sales purposes of participants as variables of exhibitors' objectives. As a result of the empirical analysis and examination of prior research, this study presents some recommendations for exhibition organizers and governments of hosting countries. First, the exhibition organizer should consider the importance of the number of visitors. Thus, the organizer should focus on prior marketing activities to attract visitors. Second, the organizer should make a trade fair plan in compliance with participants' needs. Third, policy authorities should provide environment of free competition among players.

안면도 국제 꽃박람회가 지역개발에 미치는 파급효과 (International Flower Exhibition in Anmyon Island and Its Impacts on Regional Development)

  • Taean county region has been economically lagged behind compared with other areas in Chungnam Province mainly due to disadvantages of the location such as traffic accessibility, social infrastructure and industrial complex. However, recently Taean region has been emerged as newly prospective area because west coastal highway will be constructed to connect Seoul urban area to famous beach sites, recreational facilities along the seaside of Taean county, where International Flower Exhibition will also be held in Anmyon Island for the year of 2002. This Paper aims to explore how International Flower Exhibition is contributing to the development of local economy of Taean County area and to suggest the strategies for the development of this area through promoting spread effects of these international events. It is estimated that although there will be loss of 32,987 thousands won during the period of international flower festival based on the cash flow analysis, long run profits would be 108 trillion won, when calculating indirect benefits derived from the sight seeing, flower sales and other incomes from various activities. In order to maximize post benefits of international flower event, it is suggested that Taean county should pursue the strategies for specializing in cultural events such as family recreational events, beach festival and traditional cultural events, improving the social infrastructure and promoting the local industry such as flower, tourism and advanced technological enterprises.

국제 무역박람회의 전시영상콘텐츠 분석 -ISE 2013을 중심으로 (An Analysis of Exhibition Video Contents in International Trade Show-Focused on the ISE 2013)

  • Recently the trade show is a massive marketing effort of a particular industry and introduces new products to potential customers, as well as the ability to elevate the brand's image and corporate identity. It is increasing its importance as a venue of communication. In these changes, the exhibition is required to have the emotional approach to enhance the dynamic and creative image of companies. Therefore, the product itself as well as the importance of various visual contents of the exhibition is increasing positive effect of the image and marketing on their products. In this sense, this study analyzes video contents of the exhibition that was held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Europe's largest display show 'ISE (Integrated Systems Europe)' in 2013, focusing on the domestic company, Samsung, LG Electronics and other four foreign companies. The analysis is based on the Herbert Zettl's applied media aesthetics related to the video contents, through which we can find the way to the development of exhibition video contents making for Trade show.
