  • Due to the spread of mobile devices, the use of mobile electronic notification services is increasing. For the mobile electronic notification service, the connecting information is required to identify the owner of the mobile device and the recipient of the notification. The connecting information is an online resident registration number, and safe management is essential. Therefore, in this paper, the processing flow, interconnecting standard, and management plan are proposed when a mobile electronic notification requesting agency requests the identity verification agency to convert the resident registration number of the recipient of the electronic notification to connecting information. In the proposed method, it is suggested that a safe mobile electronic notification service is possible by defining the process of collective conversion of connecting information between private organizations and personal identity proofing agency, information transmission and reception methods, and interworking standards.

  • Patients with heart disease need long-term monitoring of the electrocardiogram (ECG) signal using a portable electrocardiograph. This trend requires the miniaturization of data storage and faster transmission to medical doctors for diagnosis. The ECG signal needs to be utilized for efficient storage, processing and transmission, and its data must contain the important components for diagnosis, such as the P wave, QRS-complex, and T wave. In this study, we select the vertex which has a larger curvature value than the threshold value for compression. Then, we reconstruct the compressed signal using by radial basis function interpolation. This technique guarantees a lower percentage of root mean square difference with respect to the extracted sample points and preserves all the important features of the ECG signal. Its effectiveness has been demonstrated in the experiment using the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Boston's Beth Israel Hospital arrhythmia database.

  • A small-scale horizontal axis hydrokinetic turbine is designed, manufactured and studied both experimentally and numerically in this study. The turbine is expected to work in most of China's sea areas where the ocean current velocity is low and to supply electricity for remote islands. To improve the efficiency of the turbine at low flow velocities, a magnetic coupling is used for the non-contacting transmission of the rotor torque. A prototype is manufactured and tested in a towing tank. The experimental results show that the turbine is characterized by a cut-in velocity of 0.25 m/s and a maximum power coefficient of 0.33, proving the feasibility of using magnetic couplings to reduce the resistive torque in the transmission parts. Three dimensional Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations, which are based on the Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations, are then performed to evaluate the performance of the rotor both at transient and steady state.

  • A new type low-pass filter design method based on a coupled line and transmission line theory is proposed to suppress harmonics by attenuation poles in the stop band The design formula are derived using the equivalent circuit of a coupled transmission line. The new low-pass filter structure is shown to have attractive properties such as compact size, wide stop band range and low insertion loss. The seventh-order low-pass filter designed by present method Ins a cutoff frequency of 0.9 GHz with a 0.01 dB ripple level. The coupled line type low-pass filter with stripline configuration was fabricated by using a high-temperature superconducting (HTS ; $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$) thin film on MgO(100) substrate. Since the HTS coupled line type low-pass filter was proposed with five attenuation poles in stop band such as 1.8, 2.5, 4, 5.5, 62 GHz. The fabricated low-pass filter has improved the attenuation characteristics up to seven times of the cutoff frequency Bemuse of good rejection of the spurious signals and harmonics, our low-pass filter is applicable to mobile base station systems such as cellular, personal communication systems and international mobile telecommunication(IMT)-2000 systems.

  • It has experienced how difficult People with foreign language learning, it is to pronounce a new language different from the native language. The goal of various foreigners who want to learn Korean is to speak Korean as well as their native language to communicate smoothly. However, each native language's vocal habits also appear in Korean pronunciation, which prevents accurate information transmission. In this paper, the pronunciation of Chinese learners was compared with that of Korean. For comparison, the fundamental frequency and its variation of the speech signal were examined and the spectrogram was analyzed. The Formant frequencies known as the resonant frequency of the vocal tract were calculated. Based on these characteristics parameters, the classifier of the Supporting Vector Machine was found to classify the pronunciation of Koreans and the pronunciation of Chinese learners. In particular, the linguistic proposition was scientifically proved by examining the Korean pronunciation of /ㄹ/ that the Chinese people were not good at pronouncing.

  • This paper proposes a new design of directional couplers with high directivity for personal communication services (PCS) and International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 (IMT-2000). The directional coupler is used to check and verify the power, frequency, and antenna reflection of a signal at transmission stations for mobile communications. The performance requirements of directional couplers are a strong coupling to reduce the effect on the transmitted power and high directivity to suppress the interference of the reflected signals and reduce the errors in communication. So far, various architectures have been proposed to gain high directivity, and there have been many studies used to obtain a strong coupling. However, conventional architectures for high directivity and strong coupling have a directivity of only about 20 dB, and there have been difficulties to achieve the higher directivity of 30 dB suitable for PCS and IMT-2000. This paper proposes a new architecture of directional couplers based on a grounding composed of strip lines, and compares the test results of this directional coupler with conventional ones. The results show that the proposed directional coupler has a directivity of more than 30 dB and is adequate for PCS and IMT-2000.

  • In this paper, we designed a IoT(Internet of Things) sensor block embedded lightweight house deck structures that can be implemented using Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer(CFRP). Deck-Sensor interconnection interface block via IoT connectivity Hub that can mount external environmental sensors such as fire sensors on the Deck body itself was also proposed. Additionally we described the configuration of devices for data acquisition and analysis based on IoT environmental detection sensors that can be commonly installed and used on these deck bodies. On the other hand, received sensing data based monitoring user interface(UI) also developed and used for sensing data analysis for remote monitoring center. Through the implementation of such IoT-based sensor data transmission and collection analysis devices and UI software, this paper confirmed the availability of CFRP based lightweight House deck structure and possibility of CFRP deck-based IoT sensor data networking and analysis functions.

  • The paper presents a novel approach of constructing the state matrix of the multi-machine power system for SSR (subsynchronous resonance) analysis using the linearized equations of individual devices including electrical transmission network dynamics. The machine models in the local d-q reference frame are integrated with the network models in the common R-I reference frame by simply transforming their output equations into the R-I frame where the transformed output is used as the input to the network dynamics or vice versa. The salient feature of the formulation is that it allows for modular construction of various component models without rearranging the overall state space formulation. This universal SSR small signal stability program provides a flexible tool for systematic analyses of SSR small-signal stability impacts of both conventional devices such as generation systems and novel devices such as power electronic apparatus and their controllers. The paper also presents its application results to IEEE benchmark models.

  • In this paper, we considered heterogeneous spectrum sharing system where the number of subcarriers of the primary user (PU) was twice as much as that of the secondary user (SU). In this case, due to non-orthogonality and inter-carrier interference (ICI) from SU to PU, it is difficult to satisfy the interference constraint of PU. In order to mitigate ICI and satisfy the interference constraint, we proposed a new transmission scheme of the SU with power allocation scheme. The proposed scheme will only generate subcarrier-by-subcarrier interference. Therefore, it can easily satisfy the interference constraint of the PR and enhance the capacity of the SU. In addition, we derived the ergodic capacity of the SU. Based on numerical results, we confirmed that the proposed schemes could guarantee SU with a reliable capacity while satisfying the interference constraint of the PU. In addition, the derived capacity well matched the numerical results.

  • This paper presents some interesting results regarding the harmonic performance on the photonic band-gap (PBG) structures formed by periodic conducting vias. Study on PBG structures has been one of the major topics in electromagnetics, microelectronics, and communications areas. In most of the studies, the band-gap filtering behavior was fulfilled by a periodic pattern of perforations on the ground planes of microstrip lines. Nevertheless, the PBG characteristics can also be realized using a periodic via-pattern along the transmission-line circuits. Hence, some of the via-typed PBG structures are studied and their frequency characteristics in terms of the scattering parameters are presented. It is found that by varying the length of vias with respect to the period pattern, different harmonic performances are observed.
