This study sought to examine five theses from major journals concerning Korea's Library and Information Science, published from 1970 to 2018, so as to diagnose the current stage of International Research collaboration in the field of Korea's Library and Information Science which researchers from two or more different nations jointly conducted. Furthermore, it proposed measures for activating International Research collaboration in the field of Korea's Library and Information Science. First, related conferences should be held and education need to be offered in terms of elevating the awareness of the need and importance of international research collaboration. Second, relevant policies need to be developed and projects should be implemented to strengthen the practical international research collaboration. Third, collaboration with various countries should be pursued in the area of detailed majors of library and information science of greater diversity than now in terms of the detailed majors and countries. Fourth, a research environment supporting the collaboration with various research institutions overseas moving forward will need to be created around the universities.

국제 공동연구의 중요성이 커짐에 따라 국제 공동연구 현황을 파악하고자 하는 요구가 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 국제 협력 관련 연구가 다각적으로 진행되고 있으나, 대량 데이터를 이용한 정량적 분석으로 이를 살펴본 연구는 많지 않은 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 SCOPUS 데이터베이스에 수록된 컴퓨터과학 분야 논문을 이용해 협력국가와의 국제협력친화지수(Probabilistic Affinity Index)와 국제협력강도지수(Indicator of Collaboration Strength), 국제 공동연구의 효과를 측정하는 인용영향력 증분(Incremental Citation Impact)을 측정하였다. 본 연구는 이러한 정량적 분석을 통해 컴퓨터과학 분야의 국제 공동연구의 추이와 효과를 파악하고자 함에 그 목적이 있다.

이 연구는 한국의 정신의학 국제공동연구 협력망 구축을 위하여, 네트워크 분석에 중점을 두어 정신의학 국제공동연구의 공저관계를 반영하는 지식구조를 규명하였다. 먼저 국가 레벨에서의 지식구조 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 5년 간 공동연구 비율은 89.97%로 높은 편이며, 시간의 경과에 따라 국제공동연구의 비율은 증가함을 확인하였다. 둘째, 아시아 국가들 간의 협업은 저조한 상태임을 확인하였다. 셋째, 국제공동연구 논문 수 및 중심성 값이 가장 높은 국가(또는 집단)는 EU-28로 확인되었다. 또한 연구성과 레벨에서의 지식구조 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 중심성과 연구성과와의 상관관계를 분석하였으며, 분석 결과 세 가지 중심성 지표간에는 정적 상관관계가 나타났고 중심성이 높은 국가는 연구성과도 좋았다.

Traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) research has recently focused on the use of rat and mouse models for in vivo SCI experiments. Such small rodent SCI models are invaluable for the field, and much has been discovered about the biologic and physiologic aspects of SCI from these models. It has been difficult, however, to reproduce the efficacy of treatments found to produce neurologic benefits in rodent SCI models when these treatments are tested in human clinical trials. A large animal model may have advantages for translational research where anatomical, physiological, or genetic similarities to humans may be more relevant for pre-clinically evaluating novel therapies. Here, we review the work carried out at the University of British Columbia (UBC) on a large animal model of SCI that utilizes Yucatan miniature pigs. The UBC porcine model of SCI may be a useful intermediary in the pre-clinical testing of novel pharmacological treatments, cell-based therapies, and the "bedside back to bench" translation of human clinical observations, which require preclinical testing in an applicable animal model.

The international collaboration on marine biodiversity increases in the proportion of the world's scientific papers produced with more than one international author, 2006-2010. The number of scientific papers from 2006 to 2010 describing "marine new species (or spec. nov., n. sp.)" published 401 (international ranking : $13^{th}$) by S. Korea, 824 ($7^{th}$) by China, 1,249($5^{th}$) by Japan, 1,282($3^{rd}$) by Austrailia, and 3,679 ($1^{st}$) by United States. The papers having an international co-authorship account for 52.0% by S. Korea, 79.0% by China, 67.0% by Japan, 81.0% by Australia at the same period. The proportion of national publication output produced in collaboration with other countries differs proportionately between countries. In S. Korea, the overall numbers of international collaboration were not growing significantly. Both in Japan and China, an overall numbers of international collaboration increased well in accordance with the proportion of national output with international collaboration.

국제 공동연구 논문이 국내 공동연구 논문에 비해 피인용을 더 많이 받는다는 사실은 많은 선행연구들의 지지를 받고 있다. 하지만, 개별 논문 단위가 아니라 연구기관 단위의 분석에서는 국제 공동연구와 국내 공동연구 간 피인용도의 차이는 해당 기관의 연구협력 전략에 따라 많은 영향을 받을 것으로 가정할 수 있다. 즉, 국제 공동연구 논문과 국내 공동연구 논문 간 피인용도 차이는 기관별로도 유의미하게 발생할 수 있을 것이다. 본 논문에서는 이에 대한 분석을 위해 인용영향력 증분(Incremental Citation Impact, ICI) 지표를 적용하여, 기초기술연구회 소관 개별 연구기관별로 국제 공동연구 논문과 국내 공동연구 논문의 ICI 지표 값의 차이를 확인하고, 국제 공동연구의 전략 관점에서 결과를 해석하였다.

Tariffs on pharmaceuticals are generally low, but the time-consuming and costly licensing procedures of importing countries may act as barriers to trade. Accordingly, in terms of improving export competitiveness through cost reduction of exporting countries and improving public health for importing countries, international regulatory collaboration is effective for both countries. However, little is known about the impact of cross-border cooperation in pharmaceutical regulation on international trade. This study empirically analyzed the effect of cross-border regulatory collaboration on pharmaceutical trade using the gravity model. It was confirmed that the regulatory collaboration measures had a trade promotion effect in all drugs(HS29+HS30), finished drugs (HS30), and vaccines (HS300220). This study is meaningful in that it empirically analyzed with the consideration of the reference pharmacopoeia, safety and effectiveness in addition to the GMP inspection used in the previous study.

The Trade Incubator Program at the Korean Universities bridges the gap between traditional industry world and education by offering a unique curriculum to a select group of highly qualified undergraduate students. Working closely with its corporate partners, the TI Program grooms the best and the brightest to be tomorrow's leaders and experts in international trade. There are several implications to improve the process of institutional cooperation with the author's 6 years experience. This paper covers the solution of the problems in the course of collaboration with corporate partners, including the local governments.

Research collaboration is an important strategy to improve research output, and virtual academic communities (VACs) have become an important platform to collaborate on. This paper reveals the influencing factors of researchers' collaboration intention in VACs from two attributes: individual, and inter-members. On the basis of the Social Cognitive Theory, Social Exchange Theory, social network theory, and Five-Factor Model, this paper constructed a model demonstrating the influencing factors of VACs researchers' collaboration intention. A self-administered questionnaire was employed on members of four VACs in China to collect data; subsequently, 558 usable responses were analyzed using structural equation modeling. The result showed that openness, conscientiousness, reciprocity, trust, and the social network characteristic had a significant influence on the collaboration intention of researchers in VACs, while self-efficacy, agreeableness, extroversion, neuroticism, and experience had no significant effects on the collaboration intention of researchers in VACs. This model plays a positive role in promoting the research collaboration intention of Chinese VACs researchers and in guiding the construction of VAC platforms.
