A Literatural study on the etiological factors, classification, prescription of hemorrhoids and hemorrhoids complicated by anal fistula following results were obtained. 1. The cause of hemorrhoids are long time sit, long time gate, overfatigue, overeating, imbalance of stool( constipation or diarrhea), pregnant fertility(overfatigue after childbirth, insufficiency of middle warmer energy), uncontrol sexual excess, pathgenic factors of wetness, heat, wind, dry, genetic cause, excess of anxiety, pile up of heat poison, weakness of entrails and viscera. The cause of hemorrhoid complicated by anal fistula are attack of external wind, heatness, dry, fire, wetness(pathgenic factors), inapporiate treatment and chronic disease, greasy diet, excess of anxiety, constipation, uncontrol sexual excess, obstacle of circulation of vital energy and blood on anal site. 2. Classification of hemorrhoids are female hemorrhoids, male hemorrhoids, pulse hemorrhoids, intestines hemorrhoids, vital energy hemorrhoids, wine hemorrhoids, blood hemonhoids, flowing hemorrhoids. Classification with other method are external hemorrhoids, internal hemorrhoids, mixed hemorrhoids, excrescence hemorrhoids, nipple homorrhoids. External hemorrhoids is classified of varicosis of hemorrhoidal vein, connective tissue form, thrombus form. Classification of hemorrhoid complicated by anal fistula are simple lower hemorrhoid, lower mixed hemorrhoid, deep hemorrhoid, outer of one hole hemorrhoid, a horseshoe hemorrhoids. Once more classificated of four are space of sphincter muscle form, penetration sphincter muscle form, upper of sphincter muscle form, outer of sphincter muscle form. 3. Therapy method of hermorrhoid and hemorrhoid complicated by anal fistula are internal method, fumigation method method, ointment, method of close with medicine, necrotizing method, hot medicated compress( gxternal method), injection, insertion, bind, (operation) and acupuncture therapy (the others method) 4. Herb medicine for many used of internal method are Scutellaria baikalensis George(黃芩), Coptis japonia Makino(黃連), Rehmania giutinosa Liboschitz ex Fischer & Meyer(生地黃), Poncirus trifoliata Refinesque(枳殼), Sanguisorba officinalis Linne(地楡), Sophora japonica L.(槐花), Cnidium officinale Makino (川芎), Astragalus membranaceus Bunge(황기), Angelica gigas Nakai (當歸). 5. Herb medicine for many used of fumigation are Schlechtendalia Chinesis J. Bell (五倍子), Artemisia Vulgaris L. var indica Maxim(艾葉), Poncirus trifoliata Refinesque (枳殼), Nepeta japonica Maximowicy(荊芥), And herb medicine for many used of ointment are Calomelas(輕粉), Alum(白礬), Boswellia carterii Birdwood(乳香), Os Draconis Fossilia Ossis Mastodi(龍骨).

Objectives: This study was designed to evaluate the effect of Korean medicine treatment on four cases involving hemorrhoid patients. Methods: Four patients suffering from hemorrhoids were treated with Korean medicine treatment, such as herbal medicine, and acupuncture. Patients were diagnosed using pictures of the anus, which were used to compare before and after treatment and to evaluate treatment efficacy. Results: After treatment, the symptoms of pain and other complaints conspicuously improved. Conclusions: As indicated by before and after treatment pictures of the anus and decreased symptoms, Korean medicine treatment is effective in treating hemorrhoids.

Background: Hemorrhoid surgery is a frequently performed surgery in Korea, second only to cataract surgery. However, it has serious complications, including bleeding, infection, anal stenosis, and urinary retention, so active conservative therapies are in need at an early stage. Case summary: Thirteen patients with anal disease complained of main symptoms of pain, bleeding, and prolapse, with additional complaints of itching and mucus discharge. An herbal medicine mixture of Eulja-tang and Hwangryeonhaedok-tang was administered twice daily, and dry cupping therapy, acupuncture, and hot pack placements were administered on pelvic and sacral regions once weekly for four weeks. The symptoms were evaluated before and each week after the treatments. The treatments had statistically significant therapeutic effects. Conclusion: Korean medicine treatment-effectively alleviating the symptoms of anal disease, such as pain, bleeding, and prolapse-may represent an alternative therapy for conservative treatments in the early stages of anal disease.

Hibiscus syriacus is rarely used herb. For finding up new applications of this herb, the medicinal parts and expected efficacys that recorded in 24 classics of oriental medicine were inquired. As a result of the literature review, medicinal parts and expected efficacys of Hibiscus syriacus were as follows: The medicinal parts were mainly flower and bark. But the root, branch, leaf and fruit were mentioned too. Some unidentified medicinal parts seemed to be branch or bark. The mentioned symptoms that prescribed Hibiscus syriacus are intestinal 'wind', red-white dysentery, thirst with fever after dysentery, insomnia, 'wind' syndrom, leukorrhea, regurgitation, etc. And this herb was mentioned that applied externally for scabies, hemorrhoids, prolapse of the rectum, headache, extracted tooth, etc. Therefore, bleeding intestinal diseases, insomnia, vaginal or uterine hemorrhage(for internal use), scabies or mycosis, hemorrhoids. anal fistula, prolapse of the rectum, headache(for external use) were presented as expected efficacys of Hibiscus syriacus. In future, studies for verifying the efficacys are needed.

I have come to conclusion as follows about Bangpungtongsungsan after literatural study. 1. Bangpungtongsungsan is the medical treatment of heat, wind and dryness. 2. Bangpungtongsungsan is used in head-wind, dizziness, both eye disease, tinnitus, both ear deafness, nasal polyp, uriticaria, sajuabi, beard and hair falling, apoplexy, paralysis of hands and feet, dull mentality, tetanus, epidemic disease characterized by swelling and redness of face, carbuncle, daepungchang, pustule, syphilis, tinea capitis and so on. 3. Bangpungtongsungsan is used in the disease of cerebral hemorrhage, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, constipation, rosacea, hemorrhoids, cutaneous disease, empyema, eye disease, diabetes, asthma, obesity, beriberi, erysipelas, baldhead, fatty heart, chronic nephritis and so on. 4. Bangpungtongsungsan fits in Taeumin who has much wetness-heat and those who have much heat or have much heat but don't give off well. And it doesn't fit in the disease of intolerance to cold and fever in the form of weakness headache, asthenia of the spleen and stomach, cold by internal disorder and so on.

For the investigation of bioactive natural products with hypoglycemic effect, we have evaluated various extracts of Pulsatillae Radix(Ranunculaceae), which has been used in traditional medicine for hematochezia due to intense evil heat, malaria, chills and fever, epistaxis and internal hemorrhoids. The ethylacetate extract of the radix of this plant was found to show a significant hypoglycemic effect on alloxan diabetogenic mice. Using bioactivity-guided chromatographic purification of the ethylacetate extract, hypoglycemic constituent: 2${\beta}$, 3${\beta}$, 14${\alpha}$, 20, 22R, 25-hexahydroxy-cholest-7-en-6-one was isolated and structurally identified by physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic evidences.
