효율적인 메모리 관리를 이용한 ARM9 프로세서에서의 JPEG2000 코덱 구현 (Implementation of JPEG 2000 Codec on ARM9 Processor Using Effective Memory Management)

  • In this paper, we propose an implementation of JPEG2000 codec on the ARM9 Processor which includes independent memory management facility. The codec and memory management facility together can control the encoding and the decoding process effectively within available memory area. Embedded appliances like cellular phones have very limited internal memory which can't be expanded easily. However, they should provide various applications and services using restricted memory resources. The proposed codec with memory management can provide image quality that is identical to the original image on embedded platform. The implemented codec has no memory conflict with other applications. It shows that the proposed codec can manage memory resources efficiently.

FMEA를 이용한 국가기술자격의 발전방향 (The Development of the National Technical Qualification using FMEA)

  • Although the national technical qualification scheme has a historical background for thirty-five years, it hasn't any study of an obvious cause analysis, effective counterplan and analysis relation to its historical changes. This paper analyses the internal and external factors of technical qualification policy of the Human resources development service of Korea using PEST and SWOT and surveys the influence on its environment and the variation cause of the ratio of successful applicants to the qualification scheme. This paper also suggests systematically the direction for development of the technical qualification scheme using FMEA. Thus, this study assists to construct rapidly a correspondence system to the environment change simultaneously to determine decision making to the marketing policy.

중소기업 ERP 템플릿 표준화 방법론의 프로세스 적합성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Fitness of ERP template Standardization Methodology for Medium and Small-sized Enterprises)

  • ERP implementations are known to be unusually difficult, even when compared to other large-scale systems developing in a firm level, because it requires a substantial investment of time, money, and internal resources. Moreover, medium and small-sized enterprises that are increasingly adopting ERP feel much difficult due to the lack of resources. To promote the spread of ERP in medium and small-sized enterprises, "ERP template standardization methodology" led by government has been used for constructing ERP system in Korea. In this study, we present a study to measure fitness between ERP standard templates and business processes of 10 small enterprises in 5 industries. Also, we define a fitness measure suitable for this purpose. We car find that ERP template standardization methodology is partly adequate to establish ERP systems and it is required to add to templates which support the differences of business process.

  • As therapeutic uses of radionuclides in nuclear medicine increases, the use of patient-specific methods for calculation of radiation dose becomes more important. In this manuscript basic methods and resources for internal dose calculations are outlined, with a focus on how current changes and advances are making more accurate and detailed, patient-individualized dose calculations possible. Most current resources make use of standardized models of the human body representing median individuals, but the use of image-based and more realistic models will soon take their place, and will permit adjustments to represent individual patients and tailor therapy planning uniquely for each subject.

  • Oidiodendron flavum KNU13-6 was isolated for the first time from field soil in Korea and identified based on the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS) of rDNA and morphological characteristics. Based on phylogenetic analysis of ITS and morphological characteristics, the species has not been previously reported in Korea.

  • Pseudallescheria boydii KNU13-2 was isolated from crop field soil and identified by analysis of internal transcribed spacer regions of rDNA and morphological characteristics. In the literature, P. boydii has been mentioned as a human pathogen. This is the first record of P. boydii isolated from crop field soil in Korea.

Watershed Erosion Modeling with CASC2D-SED

  • Developed at Colorado State University, CASC2D-SED is a physically-based model simulating the hydrologic response of a watershed to a distributed rainfall field. The time-dependent processes include: precipitation, interception, infiltration, surface runoff and channel routing, upland erosion, transport and sedimentation. CASC2D-SED is applied to Goodwin Creek, Mississippi. The watershed covers 21 $\textrm{km}^2$ and has been extensively monitored both at the outlet and at several internal locations by the ARS-NSL at Oxford, MS. The model has been calibrated and validated using rainfall data from 16 meteorological stations,6 stream gaging stations and 6 sediment gaging stations. Sediment erosion/deposition rates by size fraction are predicted both in space and time. Geovisualization, a powerful data exploration technique based on GIS technology, is used to analyze and display the dynamic output time series generated by the CASC2D-SED model.

Three New Records of Penicillium Species Isolated from Insect Specimens in Korea

  • Three Penicillium species have been isolated from insect specimens in Korea; Penicillium sp., P. steckii, and P. polonicum. Penicillium sp. (KNU12-3-2) was isolated from Lixus imperessiventris, while P. polonicum (KNU12-1-8) and Penicillium steckii (KNU12-2-9) were isolated from Muljarus japonicas and Meloe proscarabaeus, respectively. The identification was based on the morphological characteristics of the fungi and in internal transcribed spacer analysis. This is the first report on the isolation of these three species of Penicillium from insects in Korea.

  • Since ubiquitous embedded software is sensitive to the resources and environment of target system, it should be debugged in the same environment as actual target system. However, existing tools to debug embedded software, in which access to internal signal or resources is limited, are uneconomical. In the thesis, economical and practical USB-JTAG Adapter that can use open GDB is suggested. It can remove existing limitations of environment implementation that have many difficulties in implementing an environment for remote debugging. Hence, the thesis provides economical interfacing environment that can debug ubiquitous embedded software inside remote system.

Prionchulus oleksandri (Nematoda: Mononchida) from Korea

  • The genus Prionchulus Cobb, 1916 represents a group of predaceous nematodes belonging to the family Mononchidae Chitwood, 1937, and is found worldwide. However, only five species have been reported thus far from Korea. Prionchulus oleksandri Winiszewska and Susulovsky, 2003 is reported for the first time from Korea, from sediments collected from the Nakdong River. This species is distinguished from other Prionchulus species by its truncated lip region with small cephalic papillae and refringens vaginae. In this study, morphological characters(detailed morphometrics) of P. oleksandri are described and illustrated using optical microscopy. DNA barcode sequence information (the D2-D3 region of 28S rDNA, 18S rDNA, and internal transcribed spacer rDNA) is also provided for the molecular identification of the species.
