  • In this paper, the design of DYNAMIC CMOS ARRAY LOGIC which has both advantages of dynamic CMOS and array logic circuits is proposed. The major components of DYNAMIC CMOS ARRAY LOGIC are two-stage dunamic CMOS circuits and an internal clock generator. The function block of dynamic CMOS circuits is realized as a parallel interconnection of NMOS transistors. Therefore the operating speed of DYNAMIC CMOS ARRAY LOGIC is much faster than the one of the conventional dynamic CMOS PLAs and static CMOS PLA. Also, the charge redistribution problem by internl delay is solved. The internal clock generator generates four internal clocks that drive all the dynamic CMOS circuits. During evaluation, two clocks of them are delayed as compared with others. Therefore the race problem is completoly eliminated. The internal clock generator also prevents the reduction of circuit output voltage and noise margin due to leakage current and charge coupling without any penalty in circuit operating speed or chip area utilization.

  • In this paper an optimal method based on fuzzy logic for controlling parallel hybrid electric vehicles is presented. In parallel hybrid electric vehicles the required torque for deriving and operating the on-board accessories is generated by a combination of internal-combustion engine and an electric motor. The powersharing between the internal combustion engine and the electric motor is the key point for efficient driving. This is a highly nonlinear and time varying plant and its control strategy will be implemented with the use of fuzzy logic controller. The fuzzy logic controller will be designed based on the state of charge of batteries and the desired torque for driving. The output of controller controls the throttle of the combustion engine. The main contribution of this paper is the development of an optimal control based on fuzzy logic, which maximizes the output torque of the vehicle while minimizing fuel consumed by the combustion engine.

  • Many studies on internal data expression to process logic functions efficiently on computer have been doing actively. In this paper, we propose an efficient logic function manipulation system made on the Objected-Oriented manner, where Binary Decision Diagrams(BDD's) are adopted for internal data espressionof logic functions. Thus it is easy to make BDD's presenting combinational problems. Also, we propose a method of applying filtering function for reducing the size of BDD's instead of attributed bits, and add it to the mainpultion system. As a resutls, the space of address is expanded so that the number of node that can be used in the mainpulation system is increased up to 2/sup 27/. Finally, we apply the implemented system to One-Shot state assignment problems of asynchronous sequential circuits and show that it is efficient for the filtering method to reduce the size of BDD's.

  • Parallel manipulator is suitable for the high precise task because it than has higher stiffness, larger load capacity and more excellent precision, due to the closed-lop structure, than serial manipulator. But the controller design for parallel manipulator is difficult because the parallel manipulator has both the complexity of structure and the interference of actuators. The precision improvement of parallel manipulator using a classical linear control scheme is difficult because the parallel manipulator has the tough nonlinear characteristics. In this paper, firstly, the kinematic analysis of a parallel manipulator used at the experiments is performed so as to show the controllability. The analysis of internal singular configuration of the workspace is performed using the kinematic isotropic index so a sto show the limitation of control performance of a simple linear controller with fixed control gains. Secondly, a control scheme is designed by using an adaptive fuzzy logic controller so that active joints of the parallel manipulator track more precisely the desired input trajectory. This adaptive fuzzy logic controller so that active joints of the parallel manipulator track more precisely the desired input trajectory. This adaptive fuzzy logic controller is often used for the control of nonlinear system because it has both the inference ability and the learning ability. Lastly, the effeciency of designed control scheme is demonstrated by the real-time control experiments with IBM PC interface logic H/W and S/W of my won making. The experimental results was a success.

  • This paper describes the design of a fuzzy-logic controller for a differential-drive mobile robots. This controller uses absolute position information to modify control parameters to compensate the orientation error. CC-Control method is compensated for the internal error by wheel encoders and the fuzzy-logic control provides compensation for external errors. The validities of the proposed scheme is evaluated using simulation.

  • In this study, a rigid multi-body dynamic model has been developed for mechatronic analysis to evaluate dynamic behavior of a machine tool. The development environment was the commercialized analysis tool, ADAMS, for rigid multi-body dynamic analysis. A simplified servo control logic was implemented in the tool using its functions in order to negate any external tool of control definition. The advantage of the internal implementation includes convenience of the analysis process by saving time and efforts. Application of this development to a machine tool helps to evaluate its dynamic behavior against feeding its component, to calculate the motor torque, and to optimize parameters of the control logic.

  • Power transformer protective relay should block the tripping during magnetizing inrush and rapidly operate the tripping during internal faults. Recently, the frequency environment of power system has been made more complicated and the quantity of 2nd frequency component in inrush state has been decreased because of the improvement of core steel. And then, traditional approaches will likely be maloperate in the case of magnetizing inrush with low second harmonic component and internal faults with high second harmonic component. This paper proposes a new relaying algorithm to enhance the fault detection sensitivities of conventional techniques by using a fuzzy logic approach. The proposed fuzzy based relaying algorithm consists of flux-differential current derivative curve, harmonic restraint, and percentage differential characteristic curve. The proposed relaying was tested with relaying signals obtained from EMTP simulation package and showed a fast and accurate trip operation.

  • A fault detecting method of ternary logic is proposed by using the spectral coefficients of the Chrestenson function. Fault detecting conditions are derived for a stuck-at fault in case of single input, multiple inputs and internal lines in the ternary logic. The detecting conditions for min/max bridging faults are also considered. When using this fault analysis method, it is possible to detect faults without the test vector and minimize high volume memory for storing the vector and response data. Thus, the computational complexity for the test vector can be decreased.

  • Since substations are structurally complex due to the concentration of protection coordination facilities with substation facilities for long distance power transmission, it is difficult to design a protection coordination system to minimize the spreading effect of the fault when a fault occurs on transmission line or distribution line. Therefore, in this paper, the bus configuration and the basic logic of protection coordination that have a major influence on the reliability of substation power supply were analyzed, and the substation protection coordination logic to detect internal and external faults was developed based on EMTP-RV. As the basic logic of substation protection coordination, the percent differential protection relay logic for substation internal fault detection and the overload protection relay logic for inference of external failure were modeled. Finally, the 154kV substation including the protection coordination logic was modeled using EMTP-RV, and the effectiveness of the protection coordination design methodology was confirmed through the several fault simulation cases based on EMTP-RV.

  • We investigate the possibility of using adiabatic logic as a countermeasure against differential power analysis (DPA) style attacks to make use of its energy efficiency. Like other dual-rail logics, adiabatic logic exhibits a current dependence on input data, which makes the system vulnerable to DPA. To resolve this issue, we propose a symmetric adiabatic logic in which the discharge paths are symmetric for data-independent parasitic capacitance, and the charges are shared between the output nodes and between the internal nodes, respectively, to prevent the circuit from depending on the previous input data.
