Optimal current angle control method of interior permanent magnet Synchronous Motors (매입형 영구자석 동기전동기의 최적 전류각 제어)

  • Recently, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) drives are widely used for industrial applications due to its high efficiency and high power factor control strategy. PMSM generally have two classifications such as the SPMSM(Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors) and IPMSM(Inter Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors). IPMSA has economical merits over SPMSM in higher speed range, mechanical robustness, and higher power rate by the geometric difference. The maximum torque operation in IPMSM is realized by the current angle control which is to utilize additional reluctance torque due to a rotor saliency. In traction, spindle and compressor drives, constant power operation with higher speed range are desirable. This is simply achieved in the DC motor drives by the reduction of the field current as the speed is increased. However, in the PMSM, direct control of the magnet flux is not available. The airgap flux can be weakened by the appropriate current angle control to demagnetize. In this paper, the control method of optimal current vector in IPMSM is described in order to obtain the maximum torque or maximum output with the speed and load variations. The applied algorithm is realized by the proto system with torque and speed control Experimental results show this approach is satisfied for the high performance servo applications.   • In this paper, the characteristics of IPMSM(Interior-type Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) are simulated using 2-Dimensional finite element method. This paper deals with the following characteristics: Air gap flux density considering skew. Back E.M.F, Torque and Inductance. Torque is calculated using current angle which is known from the controller. Direct axis inductance and Quadrature axis inductance are also calculated using energy perturbation method. This results can be used for the computation of the saliency of IPMSM. Computed results are found in satisfactory agreement with experimental ones.

  • This paper deals with d-q axis equivalent circuit analysis of IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors) considering voltage harmonics. In the field weakening region, as the current vector angle increased, back-emf contains large harmonics, therefore, significant underestimation of voltage or overestimation of speed can be occurred from the conventional d-q axis equivalent circuit analysis. In order to consider the effects of voltage harmonics, a harmonic coefficient is introduced and verified by experiments.

  • This study is purposed to find the transition of the perspective connected with visual modality. The perspective based on Greek optics and euclidean geometry and rediscovered in Renaissance represents the object according to the particular moment and the point of view, is a principal fact which affect architecture, the form of a city and the spatial organization and symbolizes an ideal of the times. It embodied perception which treats the space rationally on the basis of realism and became visual modality based on the separation of the seeing subject and the world of the object. The point of view became one with the vanishing point which made up the shape and after Renaissance for four hundred years a straight line, a right angle and a circle got to be favorite geometrical choices in architecture. A fixed point of view of the subject is getting to change and break up fundamentally by the new visual technologies of the modem times.

  • The purpose of this study is to search for the characteristics of the theory of 'placeness' permeated through contemporary museum architecture in Korea, and hereby to prove the possibility of coping with the modernity in Korean architecture. In this study the theory of 'placeness' which is asserted by Christian Norberg Schultz has been adopted in debating contemporary architecture in Korea. Therefor the theory of 'placeness' has been researched to get an angle of vision on the proof of coping with the modernity in Korean architecture. Seven contemporary museum architecture which have been completed since 1990 have been examined in the view of morphology, topology, and typology which are the major factors of 'placeness'. Throughout this case study, the post-modernity in museum architecture in Korea has been proved, which establishes that the 'placeness' is one of the alternatives for contemporary architecture in Korea.

B-Scan Image Processing Technique by Using Ultrasonic Microscope System (초음파 현미경 시스템에 의한 B-스캔 영상처리 기술)

  • In this paper, ultrasonic microscope system has been constructed with the small aperturre acoustic lens and the angle controller, and the new type of B-scanultransonic imaging has been analyzed. The system with small aperture lens was used to detect flaw existing within the thick specimen and its resolution was in the range of one wavelength at interior plane of sample. The anle controller was used to excited surface acoustic wave or shear wave. In order to obtain B-scan image of the flaw existig at interior of solids, shear wave has been excited and backscattering signals from the flaw have been processed. In experimental results, B-scan ultransonic images have been obtain from the flaws of varable shape and measured flaw size from the images has been in good agreement with practical size in the range of 10% error.

Interior seeding combined with top seeding for the fabrication of single grain REBCO bulk superconductors

  • This study presents three dimensional (3-D) seeding technique which is a modification of interior seeding. 3-D seeding is beneficial for shortening the processing period and enhancing the magnetic properties of REBCO bulk superconductors fabricated by melt growth. Oxygen channels were provided by using divided powder compacts instead of by using a rubber insert. Microstructure observations revealed that the grains grown from the seeds impinged each other and formed low angle grain boundaries of (001)/(001). It has been shown that the 3-D seeding technique reduces the volume fraction of a-c growth sector and thereby maximizes the area of a-b growth sector which attribute to the high magnetic characteristics of single grain REBCO bulk superconductors.

Numerical Investigation on Permanent-Magnet Eddy Current Loss and Harmonic Iron Loss for PM Skewed IPMSM

  • This paper presents the characteristics of PM eddy current loss and harmonic iron loss for PM step-skewed Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) with concentrated windings and multi-layered PM under the running condition of maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) and flux-weakening control. In particular, PM eddy current loss and harmonic iron loss in IPMSM have been numerically computed with three-dimensional Finite Element Analysis (3D FEA), whereby IPMSM with concentrated windings and multi-layered PM has been designed to identify the optimized skew angle contributing to the reduced PM eddy current loss and torque ripples, while maintaining the required average torque. Furthermore, numerical investigation on PM eddy current loss and iron loss at MTPA and flux-weakening control has been carried-out in terms of PM step-skew.

  • In this paper, designs of an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) and its motor driver for 42V automotive air condition system are introduced. The characteristics of the IPMSM are predicted by using d-q equivalent circuit having the parameters, such as current phase angle, d-q axis inductances, core loss resistance, etc. The experimental and analysis results of the prototype are compared to show validity of the analysis method, and to give analyzed characteristics in detail. As the result, an improved IPMSM is designed to widen the operating speed limit of prototype; a cost effective AC drive are considered at the same time.
