Curcumin and Vit. E Alleviate Alone or Synergetically Hydrogen Peroxide Induced-Oxidative Stress on Boar Sperm Characteristics during In Vitro Storage

  • Antioxidants partially ameliorated the detrimental effects of reactive oxygen species (ROS) on sperm characteristics during in vitro storage. The objective of the present study was to investigate the single or synergetic antioxidative effect of curcumin and Vit. E on the characteristics of fresh boar sperm during in vitro storage. The sperm viability in curcumin, Vit. E supplementation and curcumin+Vit. $E+H_2O_2$ groups remained over 85.0% in 3 hr incubation period, but in 6 hr incubation period, curcumin+Vit. $E+H_2O_2$ groups was sharply dropped than those of curcumin and Vit. E group. The membrane intergrity in all evaluated groups except for $H_2O_2$ group did not significantly difference in 3 hr incubation period. The viability in curcumin or Vit. E supplementation were significantly increased than in curcumin+$H_2O_2$ and Vit. $E+H_2O_2$ group in 6 hr incubation period. The percentage of mitochondrial activity and acrosome intergrity obtained similar trends within same incubation periods irrespective of treatment. The lipid peroxidation of spermatozoal plasma membrane ranged from $11.6{\sim}17.5\;nM/l{\times}10^6$ and $14.0{\sim}19.0\;nM/l{\times}10^6$ in 3 hr and 6 hr incubation periods. In conclusion, curcumin or Vit. E surpplementation alone or cooperatively improved sperm viability index (motility, membrane intergrity, viability and survival rates) and fertility index (mitochondria activity, acrosome intergrity and lipid peroxidation) of fresh boar sperm, indicating that curcumin and Vit. E have a antioxidative properties through its scavenging activity against hydrogen peroxide.

  • General concepts and overall procedures of interactive graphical user interface, a preand post- processor, for building analysis are introduced. Attention is forcused on the data structures and the modeling operators which can ensure the intergrity of its database should have. An example of model building process is presented to illustrate its capability, its facilities for modifying, and for processing.

  • Oral health depends on the intergrity of the oral mucosa for prevention of the penetration of microbes and macromolecules that might be infectious, allergenic or antigenic. The intraoral immune systems include the tonsils, adenoids and nasopharyngeal-associated lymphoreticular tissue, or NALT. Mucosal inductive sites of the gastrointestinal tract(Peyer's patches and the appendix) and solitary lymph nodes collectively compose the gut-associated lymphoreticualr tissue, or GALT system. Both NALT and GALT are inductive regions where foreign antigens derived from viruses, bacteria, yeast and other molecules are encountered. The integration of tissues in NALT and GALT as part of the mucosal immune system, is very important to keep the oral immune system.

This is so called Environmentally sound and Sustainable development. Ecological Architecture proposed as a proposal for the paradigm. This research deals with Christian Thoughts about the Ecological Architecture planning. The results are as follows; First, Sustainable development is new paradigm that is suitable for the Christian Integrity of Creation. Second, Ecological Architecture will be better when the people have full of the Christian love.

매설배관의 건전성 평가 (The intergrity assessment of buried pipeline)

  • The object of this work is to develop an assessment system for pipeline integrity. The system consists of four module applications for internal algorithm; the effect of corrosion in pipeline, crack, stress corrosion crack (SCC) and fatigue modules and the effect of cavity. Presently, the module of the external corrosion has been developed and the internal algorithm for the effect of corrosion in pipeline and the database of the system are described in this paper. The database of the system is separated to mainly four parts; geometry of pipeline, material properties, boundary conditions and general properties. Each components of the system are designed by user-friendly concept. This system may give a guideline for maintenance and modifications for the pipeline at the industrial sight. Furthermore, a procedure to evaluate an inspection interval is also provided.

  • 본 논문에서는 일반 가정이나 건물 내에서 일종의 바이오센서인 개인건강 디바이스를 이용함에 있어, 각 디바이스들과 이들로부터 개인 생체정보를 수집하는 게이트웨이간 통신 시 환자의 개인정보를 보호할 수 있는 새로운 프라이버시 보호 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 이전 [1]에서 제안한 프라이버시 보호 방법보다 추가적인 무결성 보장 및 전송 보안을 통해 훨씬 강건하고 안전하며 국제 표준인 ISO/IEEE 11073-20601[2]을 준수하고 있어 다양한 개인건강 디바이스들에 상호 호환이 가능하다는 장점이 있다.

  • Calcium phosphate ceramics have been applied intensively to orthopaedic and dental implants by virtue of their osteoconductive nature. In an attempt to enhance the bone implant intergrity and Eta utility, these ceramics are deposited onto the porous surface of metallic implants. The coating procedure and the ensuing phase transformations of the ceramic alter the mechanical properties and surface chemistry of the ceramic layers as well as those of the substrate. These structural and compositional differences are directly related to the interaction mechanisms at the surface-active ceramicbone interface. Material and processing induced influences on dissolution, electrokinetic behavior, ceramic-metallic substrate interface and boRe growth enhancement are presented.

  • The porvision against earthquakes and aseismic design of nuclear power plants (NPPs) in Korea are composed of four stages: site-selection, design, construction, and operation stages, Since regulatory criteria are strictly applied in each stage, the NPPs in Korea are believed to have a sufficient safety against maximum potential earthquakes. However, it has been recognized that those regulatory criteria borrowed from U.S. should be replace by Korea-specific ones by using earthquake data obtained from earthquake observation at and around NPP sites. Also, the government made a plan after the Yongwol and th Kyongju earthquakes that the regulatory body operates an independent earthquake network in order to reinforce the earthquake preparedness of NPPs. In compliance with the government's plan, this project is aiming at deployment of an earthquake motoring network composed of four seismic stations at NPP sites to record earthquake ground motions at NPP sites, to derive attenuation formulas of various ground motions and site-specific response spectra, and to develop structural intergrity assesment program.

  • 본 논문에서는 상선사관을 위한 실습선에서의 효율적으로 실습 가능한 적정실습인원 및 설비 개선에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 연구 수행을 위해 상선해기사를 양성하는 교육기관의 실습선에서 교육중인 실습생과 교원을 대상으로 적정 교육 인원에 대한 설문을 실시하고 실습 면적을 포함한 교육 설비에 대한 전반적인 제원 조사를 실시하여 이번 연구에 대한 기초자료를 준비하였다. 또한 연구의 신뢰성을 향상시키기 위해 인간공학에서 제시하는 공간개념을 도입하여 이번 연구에 적용하였다. 이러한 기초 연구 자료와 개념을 통해서 항해통합콘솔 장치라는 항해 실습생을 위한 교육 설비와 기관실습생을 위한 설비인 기기 정비 운용 실습교육장을 제안하였다. 그리고 제시된 설비에서 교육 받을 수 있는 적정 인원을 제시하였다.
