In recent years, development of femtocells are receiving considerable attention towards increasing the network coverage, capacity, and improvement in the quality of service for users. In 3GPP LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) system, to efficiently utilize the bandwidth, femtocell and macro cell uses the same frequency band, but this deployment poses a technical challenge of cross-tier interference to macro users. In this paper, the novel quality of service based fractional power control (QoS-FPC) scheme under the heterogeneous networks environment is proposed, which considers the users priority and QoS-requirements during the power allocation. The proposed QoS-FPC scheme has two focal points: firs, it protects the macrocell users uplink communication by limiting the cross-tier interference at eNB below a given threshold, and second, it ensures the optimization of femtocell users power allocation at each power adjustment phase. Performance gain is demonstrated with extensive system-level simulations to show that the proposed QoS-FPC scheme significantly decreases the cross-tier intereference and improves the overall users throughput.

During the test operation period of the wind profiler prototype, radio frequency interference (RFI) contamination occurred in the spectrum. The reference of the RFI that removed the algorithm appearing in the wind profiler spectrum were investigated, and a new algorithm was developed to remove the RFI. First, it was filtered with a threshold value of 0.1 m/s of the spectral width, and the range of the number of gates with the same radial velocity was determined according to whether the beam was a vertical beam or an oblique beam. RFI contamination was removed through filtering and scanning of non-weather signals, and the continuity of wind vectors calculated from the improved spectral radial velocity was verified.

IEEE 802.11ax is a protocol being developed for high-density Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN). Several algorithms have been proposed to improve the level of spatial reuse applied in IEEE 802.11ax. However, these algorithms are tentative and do not specify how to select the transmit power and carrier sense threshold in practice; It is unclear when and why the tuned parameters lead to better network performance. In this paper, we restricted the scale of transmit power tuning to prevent the case of backfire in which spatial reuse will result in transmission failure. If the restrictions cannot be satisfied, spatial reuse will be abandoned. This is why we named the proposed scheme as Arbitration based Spatial Reuse (ASR). We quantified the network performance after spatial reuse, and formulate a corresponding maximum problem whose solution is the optimal carrier sense threshold and transmit power. We verified our theoretical analysis by simulation and compared it with previous studies, and the results show that ASR improves the throughput up to 8.6% compared with 802.11ax. ASR can avoid failure of spatial reuse, while the spatial reuse failure rate of existing schemes can up to 36%. To use the ASR scheme in practice, we investigate the relation between the optimal carrier sense threshold and transmit power. Based on the relations got from ASR, the proposed Relation based Spatial Reuse (RSR) scheme can get a satisfactory performance by using only the interference perceived and the previously found relations.

Recently, as the air traffic volume has been explosively increased, various studies are being conducted to increase the air passenger capacity. In order to compensate the limitation of the separation distance on the aerodrome established on the basis of existing VOR / DME equipment, GNSS utilizing satellite is considered. In addition, we are trying to obtain more precise location information by using SBAS, a system that can correct GNSS error. ICAO recommends introducing SBAS until 2025, and Korea has also started to develop KASS, a Korean SBAS since 2014. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the interference threshold for the measurement items and the receiving antenna gain according to the elevation angle of the satellite receiving antenna.

In this Paper, we propose a multi-hop transmission in cognitive underlay network. In Secondary network, We assume that a secondary source S attempts to transmit D its signal to a secondary destination via N+1 hops with help of N relays $R_1$, $R_2$, ${\ldots}$, $R_N$. At hop k between relay $R_k$ and relay $R_{k+1}$. we assume that there is a primary user $PU_k$. In this paper, we assume that these channels are Rayleigh fading channels. In underlay network, the secondary transmitter has to adapt its power so that the interference caused at the primary user is less than a maximum interference threshold. considering the hop transmission between the transmitter and the repeater, we find transmit power and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). Between the transmitter from the receiver depending on the number of relay in the underlay network, we compared to find the transmit power and signal-to-noise ratio(SNR). Finally we find optimal number of relay and optimal threshold value.

In this paper, we propose a distributed user scheduling with transmit power control based on the amount of generating interference to other base stations (BSs) in multi-cell multi-input multi-output (MIMO) networks. Assuming that the time-division duplexing (TDD) system is used, the interference channel from users to other cell BSs is obtained at each user. In the proposed scheduling, each user first generates a transmit beamforming vector by using singular value decompositon (SVD) over MIMO channels and reduces the transmit power if its generating interference to other BSs is larger than a predetermined threshold. Each BS selects the user with the largest effective channel gains among users, which reflects the adjusted power of users. Simulation results show that the proposed technique significantly outperforms the existing user scheduling algorithms.
IEEE 802.15.4 network and WiFi network are installed to overlap each other and configured to use adjacent frequency bands in which case the communication service required by applications can not be guaranteed because of randomly increased frame transmission delay and frequent frame transmission failures at nodes in IEEE 802.15.4 network. In this paper, transmission delay model at IEEE 802.15.4 nodes and an experimental system to evaluate the interference from WiFi traffic are described, then elements for the evaluation of interference are measured with the analysis of their characteristics. A sequential method of using medium access layer and physical layer elements of IEEE 802.15.4 protocols is proposed to decide interference from WiFi network. With the proposed method, if an evaluation function having frame transmission failures and transmission delay as variables returns a value greater than a threshold, intensive measurements of wireless channel power are carried out subsequently and the final decision of interference is made by the calculated average channel power. Experimental results of the method show that the decision time is reduced with increased frequency of decision in comparison to an other similar method.
In this paper, we study the joint price and power allocation in spectrum sharing macro-femtocell networks. The proposed game theoretic framework is based on bi-level Stackelberg game where macro base station (MBS) works as a leader and underlaid femto base stations (FBSs) work as followers. MBS has fixed data rate and imposes interference price on FBSs for maintaining its data rate and earns revenue while FBSs jointly adjust their power for maximizing their data rates and utility functions. Since the interference from FBSs to macro user equipment is kept under a given threshold and FBSs compete against each other for power allocation, there is a need to determine a power allocation strategy which converges to Stackelberg equilibrium. We consider two cases for MBS power allocation, i.e., fixed and dynamic power. MBS can adjust its power in case of dynamic power allocation according to its minimum data rate requirement and number of FBSs willing to share the spectrum. For both cases we consider uniform and non-uniform pricing where MBS charges same price to all FBSs for uniform pricing and different price to each FBS for non-uniform pricing according to its induced interference. We obtain unique closed form solution for each case if the co-interference at FBSs is assumed fixed. And an iterative algorithm which converges rapidly is also proposed to take into account the effect of co-tier interference on interference price and power allocation strategy. The results are explained with numerical simulation examples which validate the effectiveness of our proposed solutions.

In recent years, the Television White Space (TVWS) has attracted the interest of many researchers due to its propagation characteristics obtainable between 470MHz and 790MHz spectrum bands. The plenty of unused channels in the TV spectrum allows the secondary users (SUs) to use the channels for broadband services especially in rural areas. However, when the number of SUs increases in the TVWS wireless network the aggregate interference also increases. Aggregate interferences are the combined harmful interferences that can include both co-channel and adjacent interferences. The aggregate interference on the side of Primary Users (PUs) has been extensively scrutinized. Therefore, resource allocation (power and spectrum) is crucial when designing the TVWS network to avoid interferences from Secondary Users (SUs) to PUs and among SUs themselves. This paper proposes a model to improve the resource allocation for reducing the aggregate interface among SUs for broadband services in rural areas. The proposed model uses joint power and spectrum hybrid Firefly algorithm (FA), Genetic algorithm (GA), and Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (PSO) which is considered the Co-channel interference (CCI) and Adjacent Channel Interference (ACI). The algorithm is integrated with the admission control algorithm so that; there is a possibility to remove some of the SUs in the TVWS network whenever the SINR threshold for SUs and PU are not met. We considered the infeasible system whereby all SUs and PU may not be supported simultaneously. Therefore, we proposed a joint spectrum and power allocation with an admission control algorithm whose better complexity and performance than the ones which have been proposed in the existing algorithms in the literature. The performance of the proposed algorithm is compared using the metrics such as sum throughput, PU SINR, algorithm running time and SU SINR less than threshold and the results show that the PSOFAGA with ELGR admission control algorithm has best performance compared to GA, PSO, FA, and FAGAPSO algorithms.

Throughput improvement problem in wireless mesh network can be alleviated by equipped mesh router with multiple radios tuned into orthogonal channels. However, some links on the same channel also can be activated concurrently if the Signal-to-Noise and Interference Ratio (SNIR) at their receiver endpoints is not lower than the threshold. We propose a greedy algorithm to investigate the problem of how to schedule a set of feasible transmission under physical interference model by using the spatial time-division multiple-access (STDMA) scheme. We also consider the fairness in scheduling to prevent some border nodes from starvation. We evaluate our algorithms through extensive simulation and the results show that our algorithms can achieve better aggregate throughput and fairness performance than 802.11 standard.
