Study on cognitive load of OM interface and eye movement experiment for nuclear power system

  • The operation and monitoring (OM) interface is the digital medium between nuclear power system and operators. The cognitive load of OM interface has an important effect on the operation errors made by operator during OM task between operator and computer. The cognitive load model of OM interface is constructed for analysing the composition and influencing factors of OM interface cognitive load. And to study the coping strategies and methods for cognitive load of nuclear power system. An experiment method based on eye movement is proposed to measure the cognitive load of OM interface. Experiment case is carried out with 20 subjects and typical OM interface of a nuclear power system simulator. The OM interface is optimized based on the experiment results. And the results comparison between the original OM interface and the optimized OM interface shows that the cognitive load model and proposed method is valuable contributions in reducing the cognitive load and improving the interaction efficiency of OM tasks.

Characteristics and Model for Growth of Rhizopus oryzae on the Simulated Gas-solid Interface

  • In order to investigate the effect on morphology of Rhizopus oryzae and production of lactic acid, various interface materials were used. Morphology of fungal showed sheet and flock when resin was added. The production of lactic acid was increased dramatically when interface materials were added. Furthermore, the effect of resin was more significant than that of others. It was assumed that interface materials could absorb substrate and microorganism together, so microorganism was not inhibited by substrate. The effect of static electric field on the interface culture was studied. When the exerting potential was 6.78 voltage, the biomass y was obviously higher than that of zero voltage. A simulated gas-solid interface system was developed to study the growth and two phases model for the growth of Rhizopus oryzae was build up that depended on the symmetric branching theory. An important parameter F was researched. The results indicated that the value of F had obvious difference at exponential and deceleration period, respectively.

A Framework for Designing Closed-loop Hand Gesture Interface Incorporating Compatibility between Human and Monocular Device

  • Objective: This paper targets a framework of a hand gesture based interface design. Background: While a modeling of contact-based interfaces has focused on users' ergonomic interface designs and real-time technologies, an implementation of a contactless interface needs error-free classifications as an essential prior condition. These trends made many research studies concentrate on the designs of feature vectors, learning models and their tests. Even though there have been remarkable advances in this field, the ignorance of ergonomics and users' cognitions result in several problems including a user's uneasy behaviors. Method: In order to incorporate compatibilities considering users' comfortable behaviors and device's classification abilities simultaneously, classification-oriented gestures are extracted using the suggested human-hand model and closed-loop classification procedures. Out of the extracted gestures, the compatibility-oriented gestures are acquired though human's ergonomic and cognitive experiments. Then, the obtained hand gestures are converted into a series of hand behaviors - Handycon - which is mapped into several functions in a mobile device. Results: This Handycon model guarantees users' easy behavior and helps fast understandings as well as the high classification rate. Conclusion and Application: The suggested framework contributes to develop a hand gesture-based contactless interface model considering compatibilities between human and device. The suggested procedures can be applied effectively into other contactless interface designs.

  • 유동적으로 변화하는 환경에서 사용자의 요구에 따라 서비스를 제공하는 서비스 로봇은 클라우드 서비스와 같은 외부 서비스를 이용할 수 있어야 한다. 그러나 클라우드 서비스는 지속해서 변화하고 확장되므로 서비스의 기능 및 데이터 변경에 적응할 수 있는 일반적이고 유연한 인터페이스가 필요하다. 이를 위해 다양한 클라우드 서비스에 대한 모델 기반의 일반적인 인터페이스를 활용하여야 한다. 이러한 접근 방법을 통해 변경된 서비스에 접근할 수 있는 표준 서비스 프로파일을 정의함으로써 일반적이고 확장 가능한 인터페이스를 구현하였다. 또한, 지능형 서비스 로봇을 활용한 실험을 통해 새로운, 혹은 변경된 외부 서비스에 대해 유연하게 적응하는 결과를 검증하였다.

  • KSLV (Korea Space Launch Vehicle)-I telemetry system will be composed of two telemetry streams: a lower stage telemetry stream and an upper stage telemetry stream. In this paper, the authors present design, implementation and test results of the upper stage telemetry interface for KSLV-I. The telemetry system currently is in the stage of the prototype model development, and its engineering model and flight model will be developed in the near future.

안정된 햅틱 인터페이스를 위한 비선형가상커플링 (Nonlinear Virtual Coupling for Stable Haptic Interaction)

  • This paper proposes a nonlinear virtual coupling fur haptic interface, which offers better performance while maintaining stability of the system. The nonlinear virtual coupling is designed based on a human response model. This human response model exploits delay between the human Intention and the actual change of arm impedance. The proposed approach provides with less conservative constraints for the design of stable haptic interface, compared with the traditional passivity condition. This allows increased performance that is verified through experiments.

  • 수평 브릿지만법은 갈륨 비소 반도체 결정을 성장시키는데 많이 사용된다. 수평 브릿지만 법에 의하여 성장된 단결정 내에서 불순물 분포를 알아보기 위하여 성장 과정 중의 액상에서 열전달, 물질전달, 유체흐름과 고상에서 열전달을 의사 정상상태를 가정하여 2차원 및 3차원 모델을 세우고 유한요소법에 의하여 수치모사하였다. 이때 고-액 계면의 위치와 형태도해의 일부분으로 다른 해들과 동시에 구하였다. 2차원 단열 경계조건에서는 3차원의 계면이 2차원의 경우보다 덜 휘어졌고, 대류 강도는 비슷하였다. 대류강도의 증가에 따라 수직 편석은 최대값을 보였으나 계면이 2차원에서 더 휘어져 최대값은 2차원에서 대류 강도가 더 작을 때 나타났다.

Bond-slip constitutive model of concrete to cement-asphalt mortar interface for slab track structure

  • The bonding interface of the concrete slab track and cement-asphalt mortar layer plays an important role in transferring load and restraining the track slab's deformation for slab track structures without concrete bollards in high-speed railway. However, the interfacial bond-slip behavior is seldom considered in the structural analysis; no credible constitutive model has been presented until now. Elaborating the field tests of concrete to cement-asphalt mortar interface subjected to longitudinal and transverse shear loads, this paper revealed its bond capacity and failure characteristics. Interfacial fractures all happen on the contact surface of the concrete track slab and mortar-layer in the experiments. Aiming at this failure mechanism, an interfacial mechanical model that employed the bilinear local bond-slip law was established. Then, the interfacial shear stresses of different loading stages and the load-displacement response were derived. By ensuring that the theoretical load-displacement curve is consistent with the experiment result, an interfacial bond-slip constitutive model including its the corresponding parameters was proposed in this paper. Additionally, a finite element model was used to validate this constitutive model further. The constitutive model presented in this paper can be used to describe the real interfacial bonding effect of slab track structures with similar materials under shear loads.

  • Since experimental evaluation of underground RC structures considering interaction with surrounding soil medium is quite difficult to be simulated, the evaluation for the underground RC structures using an analytical method can be applied very usefully. For underground structures interacted with surrounding soils, it is important to consider path-dependent RC constitutive model, soil constitutive model, and interface model between structure and soil, simultaneously. In this paper, an elastoplastic interface model which consider thickness of interface is proposed and applied for the analysis considering the interaction. Failure mechanism of underground RC box of two story and two box subway station under seismic action is obtained and the effects of ductility of intermediate column to entire underground RC system are investigated through analysis.
