Dokdo is a volcano edifice originating from an oceanic island that was formed around 3 million to 2.2 million years ago, and it consists of Dongdo(eastern island) and Seodo(western island). Even though Dokdo is a small volcanic island, Dokdo has infinite potential value and significant economic, social, scientific, and technical aspects due to its resources, ecological and territorial value. In addition, it is of national interest with regards to the dispute with Japan over the dominium of Dokdo. A need to evaluate the ground stability of Dokdo, especially in Dongdo, has been seriously raised recently due to the various cracks caused by the progressive weathering and corrosion. This study dealt with the geology and geological layers of Dokdo and identified the status of ground cracks as the previous research to evaluate the ground stability of zones of concern in Dongdo. Also, this study analyzed the relationships between physical and mechanical properties with rock types. The results showed that the values of rock properties in Dokdo are lower contrary to the general rocks in Korea, and tuff was especially affected by the weathering and corrosion.
The loan rate of the government loan program offered by the Small Business Corporation(SBC) can be determined as a sum of three factors such as a reference interest rate, a policy aim spread, and a credit risk spread. However the loan rate has been lower than the loan rate in the banking sector. The profit has continually run in the red figures and hence the stability the fund managed by the SBC has been damaged. Even though a policy aim spread could be emphasized, the stability and profitability of the fund should be prioritized. This means that the loan rate of the SBC should be determined such that the loss might not be occurred. This requires the policy aim spread to change from relatively large negative to near zero.

There is increased interest in clothes dryers and garments made of spandex-blend woven fabrics; however, there is limited information available for the laundering and drying these clothes. This study investigates the effects of washing and drying on shrinkage, skewness, and wrinkle for woven fabrics with and without spandex. When spandex with good elastic recovery was blended, the deformed shape from washing and drying improved skewness and wrinkle by easily returning to its original shape. However, these properties had a negative effect on shrinkage in terms of length and area change. When the influence of clothes maintenance was classified, the drying process had the biggest influence of 58%, followed by spinning-rinsingwashing. Tumble drying, in which the fabric is exposed to mechanical force and heat for a long period, had more negative effects on the dimensional stability than line drying. The spandex blend had the effect of preventing skewness and wrinkle in garments, but it was also shown to accelerate shrinkage by garment maintenance cycles. It was important to control drying in order to reduce shrinkage during the maintenance process; consequently, this had the greatest influence on the dimensional stability of fabrics. Therefore, line drying was more advantageous for spandex-blend fabrics than tumble drying in terms of management for shrinkage, skewness, and wrinkle.
Recently, there is a growing interest about unsaturated lecithin having excellent characteristics of skin affinity and absorbency. Accordingly, this study intended to develop a natural sulfuration material in order to enhance the stability of oxidation of unsaturated lecithin and substitute existing sulfuration materials which indicate variability and toxicity. As sulfuration components, plenol acid family, 3,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid, and flavanone were analyzed. Total polyphenol content was higher in the root extracts (133.85 mg/g) than in the fruit extracts (53.5 mg/g). Above 100 ppm polyphenol content, the free radical removal efficiency and lipid oxidation prevention of the root extracts were 20.1 and 19.2% superior compared with BHT respectively. Also, the extracts indicated high survival rate of more than 95% below 1250 ppm, showing the stability. For the stability of liposome made from an unsaturated lecithin, the root extracts were superior to the fruit extracts. Especially, 15.1 and 13.9% of sulfuration effect and zeta potential were improved with 9.3% reduced particle size compared with BHT as the control group, respectively.

In this paper, Residential roof top photovoltaic system with 9.9 kW design is proposed. The system composed of 200 Watts solar array 33 panels connecting in series 10 strings and parallels 3 strings which have maximum voltage and current are 350 V and 23.8 A. The 10 kW sinusoidal grid-connected inverter with window voltage about 270-350 is selected to convert and transfer DC Power to AC Power at PCC (Point of Common Coupling) of power system following to utility standard. However the impact of fluctuation and uncertainty of weather condition of PV may decrease the voltage stability and voltage collapse of power system. In order to solve this problem the energy storage such 120 V 1200 Ah battery bank and 30 kVAR capacitor are designed for voltage stability control. The other expensed for installing the system such battery charger, cable, accessories and maintenance cost are concerned. The economic analysis by using investment from money loan with interest about 7% and use own money which loss income of deposit about 3% are calculated as 671,844 and 547,044 for PV system with energy storage and non energy storage respectively. The solar energy from PV is about 101,616 Bath per year which evaluated by using the value of $5kWh/m^2/day$ from average peak sun hour (PSH) of the Thailand and 6.96 Bath/kWh of Feed in Tariff Incentive. The payback periods of four scenarios are proposed follow as i) PV system with energy storage and use loan money is 15 years ii) PV system with no energy storage and use loan money is 10 years iii) PV system with energy storage and use deposit money is 9 years iv) PV system with energy storage and use deposit money is 7 years. In addition, the other scenarios of economic analysis such no FIT support and other type of economic analysis such NPV and IRR are proposed in this paper.
Real-time hybrid testing (RTHT) involves virtual splitting of the structure into two parts: physical substructure that contains the key region of interest which is tested in a laboratory and numerical substructure that contains the remaining part of the structure in the form of a numerical model. This paper numerically assesses four step-by-step integration methods (Central difference method (CDM), Operator splitting method (OSM), Rosenbrock based method (RBM) and CR-integration method (CR)) which are widely used in RTHT. The methods have been assessed in terms of stability and accuracy for various realistic damping ratios of the physical substructure. The stability is assessed in terms of the spectral radii of the amplification matrix while the accuracy in terms of numerical damping and period distortion. In order to evaluate the performance of the methods, five carefully chosen examples have been studied - undamped SDOF, damped SDOF, instantaneous softening, instantaneous hardening and hysteretic system. The performance of the methods is measured in terms of a non-dimensional error index for displacement and velocity. Based on the error indices, it is observed that OSM and RBM are robust and performs fairly well in all the cases. CDM performed well for undamped SDOF system. CR method can be used for the system showing softening behaviour. The error indices indicate that accuracy of OSM is more than other method in case of hysteretic system. The accuracy of the results obtained through time integration methods for different damping ratios of the physical substructure is addressed in the present study. In the presence of a number of integration methods, it is preferable to have criteria for the selection of the time integration scheme. As such criteria are not available presently, this paper attempts to fill this gap by numerically assessing the four commonly used step-by-step methods.

The results of analysis on foreign exchange market, stock and financial market after January of 1997 are that foreign exchange market will be affected by stock and financial market volatility about 1999. This means that stock and financial market are more stable than foreign exchange market. This also is supported by ‘financial market forecast of 1999 in Daewoo Economic Research Institute’. After won/dollar (end of period) will be increasing in 1,430 at second quarter of 1999, this is to downward 1,200 fourth quarter of 1999. This is somewhat based on government's higher exchange rate policy. But, after yield of corporate bond is to 11.0% at first quarter of 1999, this will be stable to 10.2% at fourth quarter. During the first quarter of 1999, yield of corporate bond is to somewhat increasing through sovereign debt and public bonds, technical adjustment of interest rate. After this, yield of corporate bond will be stable according to stability of price, magnification of money supply, restucturing of firms. So, stock market is favorably affected by stability of financial market. But, the pension and fund of USA, i.e., long-term portfolio investment fund, are injected through international firm's management. It is included by openness of audit, fair market about foreign investors. Finally, Moody's strong rating on the won-denominated bonds suggest that Korea's sovereign debt ratings could be restored to an investment grade in the near future. It sequentially includes inflow of foreign portfolio investment fund, fall of won/dollar foreign exchange rate (appreciation of won) and stability of yield of corporate bond.

Nowadays, We have had a growing interest in high-speed vessels' because it is very important to save time and cost in marine transportation. The development of hull form for high-speed vessels is high priority to secure the competitive power for the transportation of cargos. Therefore, the demand of the high-speed vessels is gradually increased, but the conventional hull forms are limited by rapidly increasing resistance upon the increase of ship speed in high-speed region. Therefore, new concepts for the hull form of high-speed vessels have been requested. One of the derived hull forms for that demand is the hull form of trimaran type. Trimaran has a very slender main hull as compared with conventional single hull so that is reduced in wave resistance. The slender main hull has the undesirable characteristics of stability, but two side hulls make up for the week points in the stability. That is, trimaran is able to have desirable performances for the resistance and stability. In this paper, for the design of 200TEU class container vessel with trimaran type, which will be cruised in Yellow-Sea region, firstly a preliminary hull is designed, and the model test is carried out with the variation of side hull position. From the experience of the preliminary hull form design, an improved hull form for the 200TEU container are designed, and the model tests are carried out. Also, a numerical computation technique is adopted for the simulation of flow phenomena around the designed hull forms. The final hull form is compared with existing ships for the resistance performance from the computation with computer and ship model tests.

As automation systems become more common, there is growing interest in functional labeling systems using organic and inorganic hybrid materials. Especially, the demand for thermally and chemically stable labeling paper that can be used in a high temperature environment above $300^{\circ}C$ and a strong acid and base atmosphere is increasing. In this study, a composite coating solution for the development of labeling paper with excellent thermal and chemical stability is prepared by mixing a silica inorganic binder and titanium dioxide. The silica inorganic binder is synthesized using a sol-gel process and mixed with titanium dioxide to improve whiteness at high-temperature. Adhesion between the polyimide substrate and the coating layer is secured and the surface properties of the coating layer, including the thermal and chemical stability, are investigated in detail. The effects of the coating solution dispersion on the surface properties of the coating layer are also analyzed. Finally, it is confirmed that the developed functional labeling paper showed excellent printability.
