The ANP(Analytic Network Process), though based on the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), is a system for the analysis, synthesis, and justification of complex decisions with the capability to model non-linear relations between the elements. ANP allows the decision makers to leap beyond the traditional hierarchy to the interdependent environment of network modeling. The ANP is designed for problems characterized by the added complexity of interdependencies such as feedback and dependencies among problem elements. Using a network approach makes it possible to represent and analyze interactions, incorporate non-linear relations between the elements, and synthesize mutual effects by a single logical procedure. This study intends to evaluate the contribution of technology in intangible assets by the AHP and ANP.

This study investigated the relations among maternal cognition, maternal supervisory/monitoring behaviors, and their children's peer competence. The participants were 40 kindergarten children and their mothers. The mothers completed a questionnaire concerning maternal beliefs about children's social skills. Also their supervisory/monitoring behaviors were observed in the context of child-peer interactions. Children's peer competence was measured using a sociometric status measure and a peer acceptance rating scale. Maternal beliefs were related both to the quantity/quality of maternal supervisory/monitoring behaviors and to children's peer competence. Maternal supervisory/monitoring behaviors were also related to children's actual peer competence.

The Managing and measuring performance have long been a popular topic in business. Traditions of financially-oriented managing and measuring performance have provided managers with relatively objective and scientific results of measuring performance until now. But today the value of organization is influenced more by intangible assets than tangible assets. Nobody thus believes that the performance and the value of organization can be measured by financial indicators only. In this background, numerous researches have been conducted to find alternatives to measuring the value of organization's intangible assets. One of the remarkable achievements would be "Balanced Score Card (BSC), "which covers three sectors of indicators, each from customer relations, internal process innovations, and learning and human resource development, in addition to traditional financial indicators. Unfortunately, even BSC, let alone others, fails to accomodate all performance indicators as a holistic system. Namely, performance measuring techniques including BCS, at present, fail to reflect the dynamic features in their model - i.e., the casual relations and the interactions between the indicators, and there is no way of taking into account the impact of delayed feedback which flows from introduction of new policy and legislative changes, etc. Therefore, this paper attempts to devise a means for adding dynamic features to BSC, by introducing the system dynamics concept, with a focus on the effect of casual relations and feedback structure.

One of the important areas of state policy in the socio-economic and cultural development of the country is cultural diplomacy. It contributes to the information dissemination about the country, strengthens interstate relations, and forms a positive image. Through cultural diplomacy, we achieve a positive perception of the world community of the country, determined by its place in the modern system of international relations. The aim of the study is a comparative analysis of cultural diplomacy opportunities for sustainable development at different levels of public relations, as well as the impact of cultural diplomacy opportunities on the indicators of the Global Sustainable Competitiveness Index and the Global Sustainable Development Index. Regarding the results of the research on the impact of cultural diplomacy opportunities on the indicators of the Global Index of Sustainable Competitiveness and the Global Index of Sustainable Development, four groups are identified among the countries of the European Union: countries with a very high level of sustainable competitiveness and sustainable development; countries with a high level of sustainable competitiveness and sustainable development; countries with low levels of sustainable competitiveness and sustainable development.

When a modeling process is applied to an actual commodity market in the real world, interactions over closely related commodities through the marketing channel should also be formulated into the model to reflect the information that exists in the whole market system, otherwise unreliable estimates and test statistics may be produced by ignoring those effects. Single-equation type model in this case tends to yield inefficient estimates, and sometimes biased and inconsistent, which will mislead us. A system of equation method to examine the structure of the imported commodity market system is developed and its emtirical results are analyzed, then followed by some policy experiments and its implications.

If the magnetic field is extremely strong, as in pulsar/black hole magnetospheres, the Alfven speed approaches to the speed of light and we need relativity to describe interactions of Alfvenic waves. In this poster, we discuss physics of Alfvenic turbulence in this limit. We first discuss interaction of Alfvenic wave packets and scaling relations of resulting turbulence. Then we show results of numerical simulations. Finally we compare relativistic Alfvenic turbulence and its Newtonian counterpart.

For temporal relations of interactive media such as MPEG-4, it is necessary for a temporal model that can update dynamically presentation time and temporal relations among objects by user events occurring during playback. Also, 811hough the temporal attributes are changed by user events, the validity of scene must be maintained. In this paper, we propose a temporal model that supports user interaction and developed an MPES-4 contents authoring system applying this model. We define the temporal relations of MPEG-4 that tan be authored and user interactions that can change the temporal properties. This authoring system defines the constraints on temporal relations and events and can generate the scene without error by checking the constraints. Also it provides the authoring environment to author visual]y temporal relations and events in MPEG-4 scene and generates the MPEG-4 stream by encoding the authored scene.

This paper examines why Japan's nation branding strategy is not working in South Korea in spite of expanding relations between Korea and Japan. Japan has successfully managed its national reputation, which altered its image around the world. However, Japan's nation-image in South Korea has not kept up with its efforts internationally. Political and economic interactions between Korea and Japan have increased throughout the past decades since the normalization of diplomatic relations in 1965. Also, the normalization of cultural-social relations emerged after the Korean government policy restricting Japanese popular culture was removed in the 1990s and overseas travel was liberalized in 1989. In spite of the improvement in politico-cultural-social relations, trust-building efforts still stagnate between the two countries. This paper discusses the reasons behind this phenomenon and provides some suggestions to solve this issue.

This paper aims to examine the complexities of the state-nature relations in Korea by emphasizing the complex processes of interactions between the state and nature. In doing so, it relies on the literature of "political ecology of state-nature" which problematizes the conventional modernist views on nature assuming the dualistic separation between the state and nature. First, we critically review the existing Korean literature on the state-nature relation (e.g., the ecologism, the metabolic rift theory, the social construction of the nature, the green state thesis, etc.) and argue that these studies significantly lack the recognition of the interactions between the state and nature. Second, we discuss the possibilities of seeing the state-nature relations from the perspective of political ecology as an alternative approach to the state-nature relation. Last, we conclude that the political ecology approach to the state-nature can deepen our understandings of the Korean capitalist development.

This paper presents a dynamic association and natural interaction method for multi-displays composed of smart devices. Users can intuitively associate relations among smart devices by shake gestures, flexibly modify the layout of the display by tilt gestures, and naturally interact with the multi-display by multi-touch interactions. First of all, users shake their smart devices to create and bind a group for a multi-display with a matrix configuration in an ad-hoc and collaborative situation. After the creation of the group, if needed, their display layout can be flexibly changed by tilt gestures that move the tilted device to the nearest vacant cell in the matrix configuration. During the tilt gestures, the system automatically modifies the relation, view, and configuration of the multi-display. Finally, users can interact with the multi-display through multi-touch interactions just as they interact with a single large display. Furthermore, depending on the context or role, synchronous or asynchronous mode is available to them for providing a split view or another UI. We will show the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed approach by demonstrating implementation results and evaluating the method by the usability study.
